Great Book for Runners
Fantastic, encyclopedic, and detailed historical review.
The authors, Martin and Gynn, have put together an unbelieveably detailed review of every Olympic Marathon in the modern era. The detail provided brings the excitement of each successive Marathon alive. The Olympic Marathon is, perhaps, the most grueling Olympic event, and the comprehensive coverage of each race makes the reader feel as if it's taking place before their very eyes. Read this book and you'll get a sense of the drama of the event, the personal history of the runners, and the historical setting of each race. The authors have even reconstructed old Olympic documents to trace the paths each Olympic Marathon took. The information in this book is truly encyclopedic, and the authors have given us with a wonderful sense of what this race is about. This book is a gem.

Excellent Book, BUT...
As the latest from the Rotovision series, this IS an excellent book, BUT it is a compliation from the very popular Pro-Lighting series (which I already own). If you haven't purchased any of the books in this series, I would not hesitate to get this one! If you already have Portraits, Fashion, Glamour or New Glamour, you already have what this is made up of.
Very instructional
This book is like a catalog of photos; real high quality fashion/glamour/style photos with illustrations of how they were made. There are not a lot of text there. Maybe you still need another book that deals with technique, basic and advanced. It will be great in conjuntion with this book.

Heartwarming
I started reading the "Laura" and her family books when I was about 8 years old. The books would take me back in time and I would be right there with Laura. I loved them and read them over and over again. I am now 52 and once in a while still take one out and read it just to reminisce. I probably always will.
it was a GREAT book. The BEST that i have ever read
I loved your book. it made me feel if i was Rose!!!!!!! PLEASE write more books

A Practical Down-to-Earth Book on using Numerology
This is a most unusual book in that (1)it's a great read the first time through, (2)is a "must have" reference manual for the subject and (3)is very down-to-earth and practical. In essence, this is a very well written manual on how to use numerology in identifying your strengths and weaknesses, as well as the cycles in your life. This is the "owner's manual" we should have gotten at birth! Thanks for providing something on numerology that's sensible and useful for everyone!
Great book!
In the last five hours I have DEVOURED the whole book. It is lucid, synthetic in the best sense of that word, humane and inspiring. It's moving and instructive. I really like the quotations from major religions. I am so grateful on behalf of everyone the book reaches that you have done this work and communicated it so manageably.

Comprehensive
This is truly one of the most comprehensive histories of Alabama I have encountered. From the first settlement by Native Americans to the confusing, and most times laughable, political present of the "state" of Alabama. Dr. Wayne Flynt, Professor Emeritus at the University of Auburn, writes the final section of this book which covers the socio-economical status and political machinations of Alabama from the early 1900's through the present. He has a clear insight of where Alabama has been historically and where she must go to contribute significantly to her people and her nation. A must read for anyone who votes in Alabama and a must read for those who envision a new and brighter history for Alabama.

Impressive tour of Angkor
The most beautiful collection of color photographs of the Angkor Wat complex that I have seen. The accompanying narrative is thorough and places the images in an understandable perspective. Anyone planning to visit Angkor will want to review "Angkor: The Hidden Glories" first. Those who see this book will be pleased to find that the trip is easily made in comfort these days, unlike the days of the PRK era when Warner made this great photo survey.

The Arch of Knowledge
A fantastic history of philosophy with a scientific spin. From Plato and Aristotle, through Galileo, Descartes, Leibniz and Newton to Positivists, Pragmatists and right up to the 80s!
Terrific as a popular overview but includes a comprehensive bibliography for more serious readers.

Chester cycle
This is a very illuminating book. I've visited and seen the present-day Chester Cycle sites and this particular overview makes the past eminently accessible to readers interested in the cycle plays and, indeed, in Medieval theatre.

The Bassanos: Venetian Musicians and Instrument Makers
Being a direct descendent of Anthony Bassano through the marriage of his daughter Lucrettia to Nicholas Lanier, I found the book to be fascinatingly informative of the personal relationships of the families and the times in which they lived. Henry VIII recruiting musicians from Italy and France created a musical court that rivaled any in Europe. Tlhe authors researching countless archives and being able to assemble a very flowing and readable book is an achievement in itself. Anyone who is a student of the Renaissance would enjoy reading this accurately detailed account of this denizened family from Italy in England.

The competition and sport of the races themselves give a great basis for an exciting read.
If you are doing a research project (like I was) this was the only book I would recommend - or, at least the first book. I could not find a book anywhere that showed the 1960 Rome Olympic course. Martin and Gynn had it. In fact, their race course map was better than the map a friend obtained for me from the Italian Olympic Library (Federazione Italiana Di Ateletica Leggera).
