Not just for academics
I'm a parish pastor, and spending over a hundred dollars for one reference book better be worth it. It is. Volume One contains 465 articles (alphabetically from A-D). Topics of current interest include "Abortion" and "Abortion Counseling" and "Black Churches." Information on most of the world's countries and the latest statistics are at my fingertips. Although the encyclopedia is based upon a massive German publication, this edition is written in American English. In my opinion, many of the articles would be useful for high school students and Sunday School teachers. I'm going to put Vol. 2 on my next Christmas "wish" list.

Goes well with the workbook and test book.
This book is great if you can get your hands on it.
It uses a variety of topics to stress it's point;
such as science, math and cooking.
The resource books that go along with it have hands
on approaches to learning as well and worksheets and
the normal busy work. I have only found these in amazon
zshops...they are titled Enjoy Literacy Activity Book and
there is also Integrated Theme Tests. These are editions
3.1. There is also 3.2 which is titled Celebrate Literacy
Activity Book and Integrated Theme Tests. If you haven't
decided on a series to use definatly try these books.

GREAT FOR A YOUNG INVENTOR TYPE!
Our 8 year old son is fascinated with how moving parts on machines work. This book has been such a treasure to our family! He has read this book too many times to count, and now has our 6 year old and 3 year old intrigued by it as well. The age range says 4-8, but I think it would easily interest an older child as well. (It is interesting for this Mom to read!) It explains, through the use of "mechanically correct drawings", how things we have in our home, and use in our daily lives, work. I would recommend this for any youth who is curious about the world around them.

Fenway Park: Legendary Home of the Boston Red Sox
Published in Hardcover by Little Brown and Company (1992)
Authors: John Boswell and David Fisher
Amazon base price: $99.75
Average review score:

A very informative, very fun book about Fenway and the Sox
This book is fantastic. It is a photographic history of Fenway and the Sox. One of the things I liked best are the different photos of Fenway and its players throught the years that I havent seen elsewhere E.g: A photo of the ground breaking ceremony, side by side shots of the entrance (1912 and 1991). Ted pitching, the park set up as a football field (for the Patriots) and Boggs looking at a called strike. The text is excellent with lots of historical facts. Now I'll get to the best part. Remember pop-up books as a kid. Well this book has a detailed pop-up model inside. 1 inch=80 feet. It's all there; The Wall, the numbers, the bowling alley, and even the Citgo sign. This book will amaze the Fenway Fan

A Great Resource
I enjoyed reading the book very much. I have visited a number of the places mentioned and found his information to be accurate. He provided information about locations I had never known even though I had lived there.

It also works well as a guidebook when vacationing

An excellent appraisal of the original TBDs.
David Lyon writes an interesting book, and reproduces about as much as is possible on the elements in the rapid development of the English TBD. The gaps in this work are caused by the gaps in the Royal Navy records, not by David Lyon. I look forward to successors to this work.

Awesome book when you don't want to read alot
I'm 15 and had to critique a book having to do with the Middle Ages. While other people chose The Prince and bigger books I sorta cheated and got this 30 page book with pictures. It had lots of informative facts and little cartoon drawings that helped me better understand the info. It took me 20 minutes to read so it was really easy but I actually learned alot.
