I heard about this book from a friend, who had never read a romance novel, and by the way knows the author. I've read many romance novels and I was impressed with this one it is entertaining. I wouldn't rate it as good as Danielle Steele, but the author does has potential. I would definitely read her again.

We had some great laughs reading this book with our 7 year old son Joël. He immediately identified with Julia and as parents we saw quite a bit of Julia in him. We have a baby as well so Joël laughed out loud as we read Julia's attempts at bossing her baby brother around. This is a fun, well written and illustrated book that is sure to bring warm chuckles to parents and great laughs to children. Although it does so in a 'fun' way, this delightful book nurtures mutual understanding between parent and child and sheds a playful light on the frustration little children feel with "being bossed around by everyone." It's as much a 'parenting' book as it is a fun child's story.

This book gives a good introduction to how life begins and grows in and out of the womb. Using puppies gives children the chance to be comfortable with questions they may have about how animals and people are born. Although it was a little wordy at the end, this book held my four-year old's attention the whole way through.

We love finding knight books at our house, but this really doesn't make the grade. Read aloud the text is downright annoying. Illustrations are adequate, but that's not enough to make up for bad writing, even aimed at such a young audience. You'd be better off with "Sir Cedric", whose illustrations and text are rich and delicious.

My kids (two boys, ages 3 and 5) liked the book, because they like anything with knights in it. The illustrations are fine, but the text is lame at best, and as a sometime writer myself, I found the "rhymes" painful to read aloud. A book best left to the boys to thumb through by themselves.
