Outstanding introductory text useful even to practitioners
Highly recommended even for seasoned IP litigators; although this is a casebook, it has very thoughtful notes reminiscent of Hart & Wechsler's Fed. Courts casebook.

A must for your medical bookshelf!
This is one of the most valuable pediatric resources ever written. While the title suggests that it is written for the prehospital community, the no nonsense approach to pedaitric emergencies has application for anyone caring for children, from EMT to MD. There is something here for everyone to learn.

The book's organized approach begins by highlighting growth & developement and how children respond to an emergency and then builds on that to provide an excellent overview of medicial emergencies and trauma care. The entire book places an emphasis on the continuum of care and the importancet of involving parents in the emegency care of their child.

Well researched and strongly written, this book is appropriate for first time students or professionals who just want to brush up on their pediatrics

A brilliant collection of poetry and prose
Passionate and wild, this Home Brew Press publication features some of the best Midwestern poetry and prose being published anywhere. Editor Mary "Casey" Martin selects carefully and skillfully arranges her selections alongside some pristine images. Winter, wolves and love are the three themes celebrated, with the anthology's soaring words and brilliant illustrations (especially DeAnn De La Ronde's cover art) hammering home the concept. Especially affecting are poems by Edith Nash, Mark Scarborough, Jean Feraca and Martin herself, as well as a snippet of a biography of famed Wisconsin naturalist Frances Hamerstrom by Helen Corneli.

Pre-Columbian Contact With the Americas Across the Oceans : An Annotated Bibliography
Published in Hardcover by F.A.R.M.S. (1991)
Authors: Raush, John L. Sorenson, and Martin H. Raish
Amazon base price: $89.00
Average review score:

extensive bibliography with considered annotations
This carefully annotated work from an archaeological perspective complements and well surpasses other work such as that of the historian Fingerhut. The discussion of individual texts is even-handed, and the compilers do not unfairly push their point of view (though it shows through). This two-volume work is well organized and easy to use.

While this relatively specialized book might be a bit pricey for public libraries, it is an important corrective to the fantasy about pre-Columbian contacts that is on most public library's shelves. For the academic library with any pretense to serious coverage of New World archaeology, it is a must.

perfect for learning
This is perfect for children (or adults!) learning french. It uses repeatition and variation to teach several different simple sentence structures and useful vocabluary words. Cute pictures.
I thought the explainations on how to pronounce the words was great as I could comprehend what it was instructing. Certainly, it gets the beginning pupil close enough!

Excellent book for educators.
As an educator, I think this book is one of the best I have read on this subject. It is factual and covers both social and medical aspects of HIV infection and AIDS. Its focus is scientific but it explains a wide range of technical concepts (eg current drug therapies, methods of detection) in suprisingly easy and straightforward terms. It has a very humane feel to it as its authors are both AIDS physicians and scientists involved in the searching for better therapies. I think this book can truly help people learn about AIDS.

Reading Heidegger from the Start: Essays in His Early Thought (Suny Series in Contemporary Continental Philosophy)

An Excellent Collection
This excellent collection of essays is absolutely indispensible to anyone with a serious interest in understanding Heidegger's thought at its formative stage. I heartily recommend it.

The publication of Heidegger's earliest lectures and essays from the 1920's has marked a turning point in Heidegger scholarship, and certainly promises to be the inauguration of a genuine revolution. The essays in this volume touch on many of the most important lines of thought articulated by Heidegger in his early years, more or less leaving no stone unturned. The essays by Gadamer, Van Buren, and Grondin are worth the price of the whole volume.

Thinking With The Thinker
What is called thinking?, Heidegger provokes us by saying, that the most thought provoking thing about our age, is that we have yet begun to think. What is called thinking? And how show we orient ourselves around a thinker who insists on being-with him in his thinking - a thinking that does not settle for answers but is guided by essential questions?

Commemorations is a series of essays presented at a symposium honoring Heidegger's thoughts. Several dozen, diverse and eclectic these essays range from the phenomenological to the historical, from analytics to buddhism and hinduism. There is also a section taken up by an Derrida essay (apparently he we very hard to classify). These essays are very accessible, since they were written to be spoken. Moreover, the range of topics provide a rich starting point to begin your own personal questioning into the thinking that is Heideggarian.

I found my this to be a valuable anthology, one which I have referred to several times in my own writings.

Brings to light hidden truths
The Reality Of Myth by Dominican priest John Hilary Martin is an compelling analysis of myth and folklore as necessary venues for human creative thought. Strongly recommended reading for students of folklore, mythology, religion, and intuitive psychology, examining myths of the Aboriginal Australians, a California Indian tribe and the book of Genesis, The Reality Of Myth brings to light hidden truths behind colorful and seemingly contradictory fables.
