Helpful for early toddlers learning physical features
Somehow, my 14-month-old started identifying several of her own physical features (including "neck"!) by close approximations of their names after only 3 or 4 nights of reading this book before bed. Very shortly after, she started pointing out the same features in pictures of animals and people around the house. The illustrations are crystal clear in their intent, with only the last two pages presenting any difficulty (one covers elbow, arm and chin in one breath, and the other is for skin, which I imagine is tough to illustrate). I would recommend this book to anyone teaching the easy body parts to her/his child.

Highly recommend
This book was a gift and will be a gift for others from us. It taught my 1 year old through it's wonderful sing song rhyme to it's beautifully colorful illustrations, her body parts in two days. She brings it to me and can't read it enough. We highly recommend this for any age.

Great for Little Ones
I'm buying a copy of this book for my new nephew. My son has loved this book since he was 6 or 7 months old and now, at 14 months, he still smiles when he sees us pick it up. The illustrations are realistic enough to keep his attention and the rhyming text is short and sweet. I'd also recommend another Bill Martin Jr book for older kids, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. It's an alphabet book that my 4 1/2 year old loves. Weeks after her teacher read it at school, my daughter is still talking about it. We're buying a copy of that too.

Absolutely amazing - Don't look for a job without this!
I read the Q&A section of this book, and the very next day I was hired for the highest paying position I ever had! It doesn't give you answers, but instead it shows you what employers are looking for

Bang for your bucks
Bravo !!! This book got me a job almost right away. The book clearly cut the crab out and points out directly to the important objectives. The book will also prepared you to all questions that are crucial to be hire. Everyone who seeks a job need to read this book, if you want to be hired. Study the book carefully and most important, excersize and try to imagine what questions that are most likely going to be ask. My personal opinion; it is YOU who is in control in the interview instead of the other person.

Great resource book for those looking for a JOB
After using this book as a reference and recomending it to many others; I now have the need to use it while looking for a new position. After rereading it for the 4th time I again found new and useful information that I should be aware of during the job hunting/interviewing process. If anyone is currently looking for a job, or is tentative in their job - get this book today. It is easy to read and give a great many down to earth tips.

A "must have" guidebook for Leeward Islands
I wish I had met this book before I went to St. Kitts & Nevis for the first time. It tells you everything about them and you can count on it. Very easy to find out what to do, where to go, stay and eat. Very organized and easy to read. Many pictures in this book.

Great book even for returning visitors
I have been traveling to Anguilla for several years but just found some new discoveries in this guidebook.

Great guide to numerous islands
I just returned from a trip to St. Kitts and Nevis and found this book very useful, from the time I was selecting a hotel until I was on the island and looking for a place to eat. Through this guide, I learned about many out of the way spots that were overlooked by other guides. I am looking forward to using other sections of the book on a trip next year to St. Martin and Anguilla.

This is the true essence of mysticism
The book was extemely intresting in everyway. I think I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to "think" more about the world around them.

Very Enjoyable and Unique
An interesting look at a world through the eyes of a character who functions as a Deus ex Machina. I enjoyed it.
A being with a singular nature ...
The eponymous traveller winds his way through a strange and bizarre world, maybe of the future, maybe of the past, 'tidying up' the chaotic beings he finds there - imprisoning capricious and vicious elementals, punishing the wicked and granting the wishes of the high- and low- born.

.. but none of the recipients of the wishes get *exactly* what they want ...

A Must-Have for Proposal Writers
What do you really need to do to get grants? Get thee a system! Not just any system: this one.

Proposal writing is science and art. The art part is writing; the science part is reserach, strategy, observation and painstaking work. Demystifying Grant Seeking is about the painstaking part, but the authors skillfully render the components in managable, sutainable portions palatable for the busiest of non-profit professionals. I always recommend it to my students and clients.

Demystified!
For anyone entering the realm of grant seeking for non profits - or seeking more effective ways to do their job - Demystifying Grant Seeking is a powerful tool. This book takes the reader through the steps of setting up a usable office, making matches between agencies and foundations, writing grant applications, evaluating the process and doing it all again, tighter, quicker, better. The authors use one agency as an example, taking their audience through the entire process. No question is left unanswered, and all questions are answered patiently, graciously, and in easily understood language. This book is a great resource.

The Real Way to Write Proposals.
This is a grant-seeking system that truly works: for a newcomer, an experienced proposal writer in a too-busy office, and anyone wanting to streamline his or her efforts while improving quality and consistency in proposal writing.

Good proposal writers know that much time is spent learning about the non-profit itself -- its history, programs and plans; sometimes helping to develop programs or shaping them to enhance the appeal to funders; and collecting information and support materials to satisfy the donor and dramatize the project. The authors' checklist is critical to solid internal research.

Chapters on collecting, developing and refreshing support materials and program, donor and grants management files have excellent ideas for simplifying work and improving the delivery of quality information.

Thank goodness the authors dispell myths that "all you need is one well-written proposal" and that "you need to 'know somone' to get a grant".

Successful proposal writing is serious business; this book helps you do it well.

It's a generous gift to those who work so hard on behalf of good causes. Read it and keep it.

Review of Foundations of Finance by Arthur J. Keown
This is an excellent text. I've read it thoroughly. The material , as presented, assumes a robust course in accounting at the college level. This text is for a student desiring a complete rendition in basic finance topics and techniques. The text is replete with many examples and challenging problems of various complexities. The presentation is easy to read. The book is directed to students perhaps majoring in economics or finance. It is not a purely descriptive rendition of finance. A

considerable amount of so called "numbers crunching" is involved in reviewing this text. As such, the book serves the analytic student optimally. The text is devoid of the most complicated analytics inherent in "quantitatively oriented texts". There is a good appendix on the use of financial calculators ,as well as, present value calculations and other useful knowledge supplemental to the study of finance. This book would be most useful to students planning their careers as financial analysts, corporate planners or private entrepreneurs.

Of all those Management books...
This was the best. A very clear and concise book for the serious student being introduced to the subject of Finance. Other books on the subject I've seen are very abstruse or just plain hard to read aside from weighing a ton. I had another book twice as thick to complement this one and my class abandoned it in short order. This book is comparatively light and chalk full of useful ideas and examples laid out in an organized and methodical manner. The generous use of charts and tables was executed well. Probably as simple as finance can possibly be put while still retaining the rigor and teaching the processes necessary for making financial computations.

Topics included are on basic valuation of various securities and projects using discounted cash flows, capital budget management, liquidity management, etc. I'm still learning from it after school. There simply wasn't enough time to fully cover everything in the book that I would have wanted. Now I'm ready to tackle more advanced corporate finance books/materials.

This is an introductory book for someone who may be interested in becoming a financial analyst but is obviously geared to the educational market for use in schools. The academic slant limits its applicability somewhat. Although it may give a stock market player who wants to start understanding the systematic process involved in the valuation of securities on a cash flow basis some insight for example, discussion on valuation by multiples like P/Es is virtually absent.

Nonetheless a great book.

Best Finance Book It will help You Make $$$
I use this book at the University of Wisconsin Stout. I think this book is excellent. I'm taking a copy with me to London. "A must" if your a Finance major.

AWE INSPIRING!!
Having rafted the Colorado myself 2 years ago, this was a perfect souvenir-reminder of my trip. The photos in particular are exquisite - some I have no idea how he managed to capture without ending up in the river himself. I lost my Pentax to the very first rapid! This book definitely gives a sense of what the Canyon, the river, and the rapids are like. Makes me want to go back!

Breathtaking
I have traveled through the Grand Canyon many times, both on the river and on the trails. John Blaustein has not only been able to capture the beauty of the canyon but also the soul of the river it contains. Abbey's journal is a fine compliment to the pulchritude of the pictures.

excellent
Any fan of unique photography and wonderful words should buy this reissue. Mr. Blaustein is a gifted photographer and abbey is equally adept in capturing the magic of this river trip. The book is a reminder of what could be lost, if we fail to preserve the glorious heritage of our national parks.

Introduction to the joys of heraldry
This is an outstanding and authoritative introduction to heraldry written by two English heraldists, one an officer of the College of Arms in London. The book is well researched and illustrated. Too often heraldic books are reprints or new editions of books from the first part of the 20th Century. This book has contemporary design and language and is well fitted to be the definitive guide at the turn of the 20th Century. It should be included in the library of every person with a serious interest in heraldry.

Probably the best recent introduction
An excellent introduction to the field by the Somerset Herald. Chapters cover the origins and evolution of the herald's art, the marshalling of arms, the technical aspects of blazoning, and even the proper decorative use of heraldry. The emphasis, naturally, is on Britain, but Europe and the United States are included as well. Very nicely illustrated, too, with a thick section of color plates. And a nice gift book, too.

Authoritative, scholarly review of the history of heraldry.
This is a well-researched, comprehensive analysis of the history of heraldry in both England and Europe. It features several full-color as well as grayscale plates illustrating ancient coats of arms and the evolution of this art to the modern day. A glossary with illustrations is included in the appendix, and it is well-indexed.

the secret to tough interview questions
This is great book and offered me a lot of help in interviews. Being an engineer, I found that finding a job especially in engineering can be a rigorous and tedious process. Most companies will use psychological based questions to determine what type of person you are and to see if you fit in the company culture. As for skills and knowledge, that's left up to you and what you can tell about yourself.

This book is also good for interviewers, since it has do's and dont's about interview questions.

Read this book and review it before your interview. It will definitely pay off when you get the job offer in this tough economy.

Well I'll be...It worked!!!
I live in NYC and I have been struggling off and on in the daily grind for a job for months. I tried employment agencies and the internet but hadn't been receiving any positive responses to my submissions. ***I admit I was beginning to take it personal.*** I didn't know if I wasn't getting the response I had hoped for because the market is so competitive, because I had been out of the job market for so long (I took about 3 years off to be a stay at home mom), or because maybe I wasn't marketable anymore.

So, I figured I better revamp the old resume and try again. I would start with online submissions before I took it to the agencies. I couldn't afford to get it professionally redone so I bought the "Knock em Dead" book along with the "Knock em Dead Resume" book in the hopes that I could get some fresh ideas.

In the span of one week, I redid my resume based on the formats given in the book and emailed it to a few corporations to see if I got any bites. I did. I landed an interview with a huge company the following week. In fact they were so impressed with my resume and presentation that I received a very lucrative offer last week. (The whole process took about 3 weeks total!) I simply followed the steps as Mr. Yate laid them out and I am starting this coming Monday.

His advice was dead on! I knew I had an edge on the competition based on my interviewers response to me. I actually had one interviewer stop me in the middle of our meeting to compliment me on one of the best presentations he has ever had the pleasure to participate in. HA!!! HE THANKED ME!!!! This had to be the Twilight Zone!!!

I can't think of any other way that I can express my gratitude to Mr. Yate for writing this book other than this endorsement...

BUY THIS BOOK IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT GETTING THE JOB YOU WANT!
Mr. Yate, I couldn't have done it without you and some serious prayer!

Truly a Superlative book, meet and exceed your expectations
This is by far the best strategy book I have ever seen for job hunting. The questions offered to help you interview the company, and the excellent responses he recommends for those tough interview questions most everyone will receive, especially those used on men, will turn around your interviews to get your prospective employer to possibly even chase you with offers you thought unimaginable.

No, this is not your dandy dating book for flirting through the interview, no siree. This book shows you how to negotiate the deal, prepare yourself for ivestigating the career paths of those who have gone before, the culture and environment you'll be working in, and how to tread new inroads to bring about a more meaningful paradigm of personal excellence and the perks to help you make this all come true.

I made outlines of three chapters, reading them between each interview and practicing what I learned at every interview, even engaging some where I had slight chance of getting the job but squeezed every element I could bring to bear to make the interview an experience to learn from and try these techniques as best I could so I'd be better prepared when the better opportunities came along.

This book and the other Knock 'Em Dead books offer the skills that should be passed down from generation to generation so that no young person should ever have to go through life with the trial and error that stifles their career growth and constipates their financial viability. Preparation Yate sets you free.
