A very concise and practical source of information about medicines and their use.

This book is a very good tool for students because they can learn from an evidence based medicine book instead of beliving in professors.

Dr. Chinula is wonderful in his approach to pastoral counseling in the black community. I suggest that every pastor require his/her satff to read this book.

MOST APOLOGETIC BOOKS ARE REPETITIVE AND GET RATHER DRY BUT "CHALLENGING CATHOLICS" IS CEREBRIAL AND YET WITTY.
A WONDERFUL BOOK TO ADD TO ANYONES LIBRARY.

I'll be honest; John Jakes is the draw for me here. I found that this book introduced me to other authors that have a style I can get used to! the easy-read stories show a different view from top authors' typical writing, but without loosing their ability to draw from history. History comes alive, especially from these sad stories of lost souls. It has created a further interest on a subject that I have often overlooked.

Written by a group of Psychiatrist with an active sleep disorders practice. Concise but very comprehensive of the field, and small enough to fit your pocket. The drug effects part is very useful. Organized around diseases as a clinician would see them and not like the ICSD manual which is more academic and research oriented. A good introduction and overview for the student but a good review for the young sleep specialist, also. Needs to be updated yearly because of new medications and treatment. A reasonable price so it can be used as a gift to interested friends.

This is possibly the best book I have read about Cosmology. This is my fourth Gribbin book, the other three being of his "Insearch of ..." series. And I definitely found this to be his best. First of all the book deals with an area which is somewhat different from most other books on Cosmology. The author's argument about why dark matter is necessary to make the universe closed, and how it relates to the requirements of existence certain particles to complete the particle physics equations is superb. The book gives a plethora of information about what could possibly constitute the dark matter of the universe. It talks about particles with bizarre characteristics like quark nuggets, axions etc. The book also includes a lot of speculations like existence of "shadow matter" which appears too bizarre to be real. And last but not the least, the book tackles the sensitive issue of "Anthropic Cosmology" which stresses on the fact that the universe is taylor-made for man. This is really intriguing.

You can never have too many monsters! All of these were originally introduced for the classic D&D game, but can very easily be converted to AD&D standards with a minimum of fuss. Not only do you get classic "Games Workshop" style British artwork, but you also get such wonderful horrors as the Juggernaut, Soul Eater, Shroud Spider, Aquatic Beholder, Death Demon, Sabre Claw, Undead Dragon - about 200 in all! It's the long-lost Fiend Folio of the D&D game... highest recommendation.

Up till the publication of 'C-46 Commando in Action' by Squadron/Signal this book was the only publication about the Curtiss Commando, but the five stars are merited by the thorough investigation by these enthousiasts. It is only lacking a color art section to make it a real all-time classic, but there is hardly anything that could be better (information-wise) in this nice book by Air Britain. Though the book is published in Britain, the writers all hail from the USA -as does Curtiss Aircraft- and these gentlemen give you the history of each and every 'Commando' ever built and a lot of black-and-white photographs of this plane. The 146 pages of this book are printed in a rather small typewriter font, so there is more information than you should judge just by mere size of this book.

This is a love story with all the trimmings - beautiful young people, powerful Washington politics and an author who must have lived a large life to make it so vividly come to life. The book celebrates the best of youth today while making it passionately clear these two don't hold anything back from each other or life. It's a modern tale with a few old-fashioned twists supplied by older generations of family that make it credible and move the plot along. You know when you finish it that this novel has taken you over a lot of emotional ground.

Don't be deceived by the prim black and white cover of this novel! Hill is a new and refreshing author who has done his "homework" on the characters and subject matters. Just open its pages and let it take you on a refreshing journey with the young lovers. You will go with the lovers through their trials and tribulations and rejoice with them in their times of joy.

Hill seems to apply some of his personal experiences into his characters and scenes, thereby presenting very believable descriptions. There is a lengthy medical description that appears very realistic, although one might ask if this much detail is necessary in a work of fiction. Due to some profanity in this novel, I would recommend it only to adult readers.

Overall, my hat off to Hill. This is a great beginning for a new author and I look forward to hearing more from him in the future.
