A "Must have" book for Everyone of any age and in any stage!
Whether you are looking for assistance in Anger Management, Focus, Banishing Fears, Ending Procrastination, Reducing Weight, Attracting Business or a New Partner, this book covers it all. You will find all types of exercises to implement into your business or personal life. The use of Anne Marie's affirmations book set a foundation for personal and professional development and sets a course for new beginnings and profound experiences. I have observed many clients creating their desired future with the help of Anne Marie's book.

Anne Marie walks the reader through a powerful and yet safe journey of self realization. She explains in detail how to focus on and "attract" your desires. It is through her teachings that we all gain. I am thankful for Anne Marie's writings and look forward with much admiration, appreciation, respect, love and anticipation to her next series of books.
Thank you Anne Marie Evers!

Powerful book
"Affirmations: Your Passport to Happiness" by Anne Marie Evers is a powerful book that changes lives by focusing on the affirming power of words and images for health, wealth and happiness.

By using simple exercises and specific affirmations, Evers shows readers how to generate money, attract the ideal partner, lose weight, find the perfect career, create vibrant health and overcome fears. She encourages readers to move past negative habits, unhealthy relationships and personal limitations to fulfill their highest potential. For myself, this book opened up a floodgate of possibilities that I had never been open to before.

In "Affirmations: Your Passport to Happiness", Evers describes how thoughts work and encourages others to examine their thoughts. Although thoughts can be stimulated by outside influences, Evers believes that it is the individual's own mental and emotional reactions to these stimuli that create beliefs, concepts and, eventually, their reality.

"When you think of yourself as a victim of circumstance, you are narrowing your focus. You could miss out on blessings all around you," she writes in her book. "Never allow negative thoughts of others to keep you from fulfilling your desire. Let others who choose to be negative live their lives as they wish. You cannot change others, but you can change how you view them and thus change your feelings about them. Often that person will sense the change in you and undergo change as well,"

As an example of how powerful the mind is, Evers mentions the placebo effect. She writes about an American study where one hundred people with an illness received a sugar pill. They were told that the pill contained a powerful new medicine that would cure them. As a result of taking the sugar pill, one-third of the patients got better! The only reason behind their miraculous recovery was that those people believed they were going to get better.

"The subconscious mind sent biochemical messages to their bodies that told the healing process to go full speed ahead, and it did. They were brought back to 100% health. Trigger by their doctor's suggestion that they were receiving a new cure, they unknowingly tapped into their subconscious minds to unleash the potent healing ability of their own bodies," she wrote.

Alberta born Evers has worked in the personal growth field for the past thirty years, teaching others about the power of affirmations, creative visualization, reflexology, meditation and yoga. Today, she receives letters and testimonials from readers all over the world that have been touched by her book.

As a freelance columnist and writer who lectures and conducts workshops in related subjects, Evers is quickly spreading the word about the life-changing power of affirmations.

"Whenever Anne Marie appears as a guest on my show, I get numerous phone calls and letters from viewers saying how her teachings on affirmations have transformed their lives and given them the tools and confidence to go out and do something," wrote David Ingram, host of The David Ingram Show on Channel 4, North Vancouver B.C.

After I read Evers book, I carried it around with me for weeks to show friends and family affirmations that might be of help. I created affirmations of my own and am looking forward to seeing what results.

If you are ready for a positive change in your life, pick up this little green book.

Affirmations, Your Passport to Happiness
Affirmations Your Passport to Happiness by Anne Marie Evers

In a recent televised Internet Show Anne Marie Evers mentioned that her books were for sale at amazon.com so I thought I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about this very special book, Affirmations, Your Passport to Happiness.

For want of a better word, I would like to call this my Tool Book, which is easy reading for all ages, and over the past eight years my children, now in their early twenties and I have put into practice, with the use of an earlier edition, many affirmations ie:dreams, goals, prayers in a specific and structured way as outlined in the book. . This latest fourth edition has a lot more information in it and is set out in a much more organized way. It was for me very soothing to the eye and therefore makes easy reading.

At some period during our lives we all have problems to solve and this book holds the key to helping us focus and deal with those specific problems, whether it is asking for help obtaining good health, money, relationships, jobs, good grades at school, etc.

When we have carried out these instruction the results have always worked for us. I am always so amazed! In fact, we seem to use Affirmations, Your Passport to Happiness almost daily for the smooth running of our lives. It has certainly saved us from the need of a counselor on several occasions.

However, there is no cutting corners as affirmations appear to work in a specifically structured way - the autor reminds us 'Afirmations When Properly Done Always Work - they certainly have for us! If you are at a loss to know how to word your affirmations, in this latest edition, you only have to refer to the end of the chapter and usually the wording is set out right there.

I had the pleasure of talking with Anne Marie Evers at her book signing at Barnes & Noble in Bellingham a while back and she said she now has Distributors for the book in both the United States and Canada, and it is also in a number of libraries in both Washington and Canada.

I believe this is an absolute MUST for everyone's bookshelf, both young and old and I hope it will work as well for you in your life as it has in mine!

The best intro or review text on Calculus I've found
When I picked up this book, I had completed one quarter of calculus at the university level (about 15 years prior), and had accumulated a bookshelf full of calculus texts and self-help books over the subsequent years, with the best of intentions of delving deeper into the subject. It never happened, though. All of the books I had obtained on the subject were either obtuse, mind-numbingly dull, or both. Then I discovered Dr. Bleau's Forgotten Calculus. At first, I was somewhat daunted by the title, because for me there was a lot of "not-taken" calculus in her book, but then I noted the blurb on the cover, the last clause of the last sentence, which read "...and can be used by adults who have never studied calculus."

This is simply the best self-help book I have ever come across. It took me about two months to complete, working through the material in my spare time. The subject matter was stimulating and clearly explained, favoring the practical over the theoretical. Best of all, it left me wanting for more -- an uncommon feat for a math book, especially one about calculus.

Forgotten Calculus-A very understandable and helpful review
This is one of the better practical texts available for a cursory review of calculus. My congratulations to Barron's and Dr. Lee Bleau. I usually do not take the time to comment on books although I like to get some feedback before buying a book. I felt so good about this text that I had to recommend it for anyone who wants to review their precalculus and calculus. It has a great synopsis of functions, as is usually covered under precalculus courses. It then moves on to derivatives, differential and integral calculus. Other "quick learning"/review books have not been as "smooth" as this one. The topics are covered clearly and in good order. There are a lot of example problems, with solutions, that help reinforce the learning process. I have actually found that I enjoy reading this book. The author does a great job in covering the material.

This book makes business calculus easy.
The author explains calculus in a clear and simple way which is really helpful. I am taking a college business calculus course and the required text book is not helpful at all. I believe Forgotten Calculus will help me get through this tough class.

Read for the MCNS Course.
This book offers in Part III (Chapters 6 through 8) a lucid explanation of Cisco Security. In addition, it was the best presentation for the layman of IKE and IPSec I've read. This book is definitely a must have if you are going to take the MCNS (Managing Cisco Network Security) exam. I wished I'd read this book before I passed the MCNS exam - it would've saved me tons of time in terms of understanding IPSec in general AND Cisco's implementation of IPSec. Part III, "Managing Security" was alone enough for me to use this book.

The writing style AND the LOGICAL presentation of the material really made me understand Cisco's implementation of Cisco Security, even though I had taken the Cisco course MCNS and had already pored over the courseware on IPSsec.

Excellent! New technology and well-written. Learning a lot
I was very happy to find this book because it covers topics I've not found together (and done well) in other networking books. Particularly, I have found IPsec (VPN), Quality of Service, Security, NAT, and intrustion detection well covered and timely. I like the practical and brief explanations of Cryptography techniques (wasn't all mathematical and abstract). The author does a good job explaining VLSM (one of the better I've seen). There are some "advanced" routing topics there too (the author seems to make some CCIE test hints, might help me). What I really like is that he clearly explains each IOS command line-by-line. I have lots of net books, but this book is unique, well-written, and a keeper. The book takes a stance that you should get more out of your routers by using more of the technology in Cisco IOS. It has given me some good ideas for our network, some that I've started to implement (like anti-spoofing access lists). I'm a bit surprised that some of the topics are fairly new (bleeding edge?); like Class based weighted fair queuing which just came out in IOS 12.0(5)T! I highly recommend this book for networking professionals, especially those who are bored of routing books (like myself).

Awesome Book
Don has done a brilliant job in writing this book. Not only did he cover IPSEC and VPN technologies. He also covered IOS, which was great. This is an all one book. Before I had this book I was reading a multitude of books to find out information I needed. Once I read Don's book the search was over. Great Job Cisco and Don!

Fantastic allegory!
I was first introduced to this book as a camper at a camp in North Carolina; I have since returned as a counselor there and have read it to my campers (who loved it as well)! As a children's book it is fantastic because although each chapter presents a different story with its own plot, each also weaves together with the other chapters to produce a larger plot based on the same settings and characters. This makes for great suspense for the kids from one reading to another! In addition, it is a great tool for conveying the biblical lessons pertaining to a Christian's daily walk. The stories are allegories. The format can even be seen as allegorical in the sense that, while each believer has a personal walk with Christ and daily experiences therein, each is also a part of the whole of Christ's body, the church...with the overall picture of a Savior dying to redeem sinners and one day returning to establish His eternal Kingdom. This book is fantastic!! I recommend it to all --whether child or adult!-- who would seek a tremendously written children's book which will encourage, challenge, and teach one in the ways of the King! (I, too, believe that the old edition illustrated by Jack Stockman needs to be revived!!)

Absolutely Wonderful Book!
This book (and Tales of the Resistance) were both given to me when I was very young. I was given the tapes as well (if you get a chance to listen to them, do! ). These books are absolutely wonderful! I learned so much from them! I've been looking for them for ages, and they NEED TO BE REPRINTED WITH THE ORIGINAL ILLUSTRATOR! Read these books, they are well worth your while!

My favorite book in the whole world.
When I was about 11, my aunt gave me the original, hardback versions of both "Tales of the Kingdom" and "Tales of the Resistance." I didn't really discover them until I few years ago, however, and they have since become my favorite books.I've read them a thousand times...the imagination of David Mains is amazing, and as a Christian, the allegory of the book is wonderful. They've been so encouraging to me; as you read the books, you see yourself in Hero, and you fall in love with the King, only to realize that we DO have such a king, in Jesus Christ! I love these books...and I just found out that there's a third book, "Tales of the Restoration"! I can't wait to get it. You MUST read all these books...you'll love them!

Not very satisfying.........
The Lee's book re-packages the basic teachings of Eastern Mysticism and conveys them to a modern audience. For instance the authors write about a mass spiritual awakening in which humankind finally comprehends the truth -- that "we are all one." This idea of monism has been around for ...well, a long time. In short, there is very little that is 'new' in the Lee's book.

1. The author refer to an energy called "Ki" which they claim is the natural bridge that connects body, mind, and spirit, and is the perfect tool for allowing people to feel and understand the universe's most profound truth. That 'truth' is the idea that everything is one. This they state is the thing, which allows humanity to go beyond current problems into a higher spiritual plane.

2. And it's here that the ideas stumble. Are you having family problems? Are you having work problems? Are you having health problems? The Lee's claim that you are not. You are rather experiencing an illusion. You aren't seeing things correctly. Everything is one. It's all the same. Good and bad circumstances don't exist - just circumstances.

3. See, the book tries to get people to go beyond the categories of ethics. You can't call rape or murder 'bad', because everything is one. The good is the bad and the bad is the good. If everyone would just understand that, then this world would be a better place.

4. However, this isn't ultimately a very satisfying answer. In fact, it's an answer that asks the person to ignore what they know to be true in their heart; that evil is real, the good is real. The Lee's ask their readers to pretend that all is one and to not 'solve' problems, but to see them as not problems at all. This is escapism - It's running from the problem instead of facing it.

5. The Lees ask why this most simple and important truth gone unheeded. For one, it's a very difficult world to live in. It's hard to believe that justice, mercy, hope, love, and goodness and all illusory.

6. The authors sate that the world is in political, religious, economic, and ecological crises of our own making. We need a mass spiritual awakening, in which billions truly realize that we are One. This would transform our world: children wouldn't starve, women wouldn't be brutalized, and young men wouldn't die in battle. I can't agree with their conclusion. People would still starve, and women would still be brutalized, and people would still die in battle, but nobody would care. Why? Because it's all good, because it's all one.

7. The Lees claim that the purpose of life is really no big deal, although people have generally viewed the question, "Why am I here?" as the ultimate in self-exploration. This is true. If someone truly believes all is one, then my life is no more significant than the lives of the bugs on the bumper of my car. The authors teach that we are here on earth in such and such shape, form, and mind to strive for the completion of our spiritual selves, not only as individuals but as the whole. That 'completion' is a recognition that all is one. We are a drop in the bucket. Far from offering hope, this offers hopelessness, and asks that we accept that and come to terms with it.

S.U.N is rising
Using common sense, deep insights and humor, with this new book, IL CHI LEE invites ( the all world to wake up to the real 'REALITY' of the purpose of existence on the Planet Earth. With simple guidance He powerfully remind us to explore and exercise the Divinity from within each of us.
Enough wasting time 'Stuffing' the inside from outside informations. Time for information 'Triage¡¯.
What is inside naturally is all we need to Live, Sense, Appreciate, Respect, Love, Heal, trough simple actions coming from the calling of the Heart and Soul.
The KI Energy language is all we need to listen to. 'From within to out' make ourself available and productive to rebalance our surrounding in the most naturel heartfull way.(for the Planet and it's Habitants.)
He remind us the value and impact of self-discipline, right habits concept, responsibility toward our own actions, the state of physical, mental and spiritual health in order to keep and install Harmony in any given situation, and to bring a positive effect on others and incite them to do the same. He touches subjects of all aspects of 'Life'
[Birth-Growth-Survival-Relationship-Death] and He explains from all sort of view-points[Science-Phylosophy-Theology-History-Technology-Sociology-Ecology-Physical-Spiritual] to remind us the notion of not 'Define' ourself by the 'Differences' but instead by the 'Ressemblances' as being first of all a 'EARTH-HUMAN' following the Cosmic Order to care for the Body, feed the Soul, and grow the Spirit by embracing and breathing 'LIFE'entirely.
We all have the freedom and ability to choose the ultimate way to bring changes in Society's future. Some already started.
S.U.N. is rising because Enlightenment is not the end but the beginning¡¦

Thanks to you Il CHI LEE.

"Exceptional"
This book is a must read if you want to heal yourself and the world. This book is just one of the reasons Dr. Lee is called the Grand Master. What a keeper. I can't say enought about this splendid book.I know it will be a another best seller.

A good start from a promising new author!***
A young man must struggle with the pressures of society and unknowingly is manipulated by his friend and the local clergy. He and a group of adventurers end up heading for a mythical temple and the race is on for a sacred artifact that will prevent the release of a horrific beast from entering into the realm.{don't want to give too much away, but this is a great set up for the series and leads into the next book perfectly). A grande applause for NEFF who will enter into the genre as a peer to Salvatore and Tolkien.
also check out his other book: Mabon and the Swan.

recomend forgotten realms and Harry potter for a lighter read.

Darkwolfe kicks butt
a cool new series. I like darkwolfe the best, he's the hero of the story. Sabbath is the bad guy, i can't believe some of the stuff he does...at any rate, loved the book. I heard the next one in the series is called Pine Tree Wind, but don't know when it will be out yet.

This is Killer!!!
Awesome book. Fast action, not knowing what will come next. Can't wait for the next in the series.

Remarkable!
The Children of Willesden Lane is a remarkable, transporting story, at once upllifting and heartbreaking. I'm a better person for reading it. The authors' flawless narrative style facilitates a "can't put the book down" memoir read. After grabbing their readers' hearts, Golabek and Cohen seize their readers' minds with a cogent, compassionate, and otherworldly understanding of the intricacies of living a life in music, and its accordant near-mystical ability to bring humanity as close as it can get to the divine. Such are Golabek's and Cohen's gifts that one can almost hear the music coming from the pages of The Children of Willisden Lane. I loved this book. It is a gift.

The Hope of the World
Even if you are not a musician, you will find Lisa Jura's story compelling. It's the true tory of her escape from pre-WWII Vienna to an orphange in London-243 Willesden Lane ... hence the title. Her strength came from her music. Her mother prophetically told her that her music would be her best friend, and so it was. Lisa took the Kindertransport to London and safety, along with dozens of other Jewish refugees The book is compelling and hopeful. It reaffirms our belief in the humnan spirit to strive for and achieve happiness. I couldn't put it down, and neither will you. This is a must-read.

Heartwarming, Terrific, Inspiring
I stumbled on this book when a friend recommended it. I was wary of the title, but the book is excellently written and very easy to read. It is an inspiring tale of Lisa Jura, a Jewish girl from Austria. In attempt to save her life, her parents send her away to England on the Kindertransport train.

The story of Lisa is wonderfully told. I was moved to tears several times and laughter several others.

You will love this story.

A Treatise on Maneuver Warfare by One Who Knew How to Do It
This book covers Erwin Rommel's First World War experiences, from August 1914 to November 1917. Rommel served in interesting areas: France 1914-5, Romania 1916-7 and Italy 1917. The book was written in 1937 and is less a memoir than a manual on infantry operations. There is very little human detail. Nor is there any analysis of the big picture (Rommel was only a battalion commander by 1917). German troops are made to look invincible; the French, Italians and Romanians are depicted as second-rate. Rommel was a very aggressive mountain infantry officer and won the Pour le Merit in the Caporetto offensive. The tone is subtlety braggadocio. Rommel's style was overly aggressive and similar to Caesar's in the Balkans and Egypt: bold thrusts and pursuits with handfuls of troops which sometimes got Rommel into some very tight spots. He was almost killed or captured on several occasions. Note, the tactical lessons are too narrow to draw useful conclusions from other than: dig in whenever you stop, conduct reconnaissance while the main body rests/prepares and never stop pursuing a beaten foe. Logistics was evidently not one of Rommel's strengths and would later hurt him in Africa. Excellent sketch maps for most major actions. When I visited the Caporetto area in 1996 I brought Rommel's book and was easily able to relate the sketch maps to the terrain.

Insightful study of one of history's greatest generals
While the text itself is somewhat dry and analytical, this rates as one of the great studies of military tactics and provides a facinating glimpse into the mind of one of history's great generals. Attacks! is Rommel's first person account of his experiences in WWI. As was his custom, he recorded his military exploits and summarized his findings for his own personal study and the benefit of those military students to follow. Anyone interested in gaining insight into Rommel himself or interested in what makes a great platoon/company level commander should read this book.

A textbook for battalion commanders
A masterful description of small unit action in WWI. Its amazing how articulate Rommel is in describing preparations for attack, use of terrain, change of plans on the spot and other details involved in executing battalion level orders. At the end of each battle sequence is an Observations section in which the lessons to be drawn are dispassionately stated.

From this book its clear that during WW1 Rommel acquired most of the military characteristics that made him one of the best commanders of WW2. His emphasis on reconnaissance, deception, and surprise as well as his trademark "feel for the terrain" (fingersptizengefuhl) were all developed at the battalion level in this earlier conflict.

Another real plus in this book are the maps (actually Rommel's hand sketches) showing terrain and lines of attack.

Anyone who is interested in Rommel's military operations should start here. As a WW2 follow-on, I'd recommend Ronald Lewin's Rommel as Military Commander...for its detailed battle accounts and excellent maps. Fraser's and Irving's books are also good, but operate at a more general level and suffer from a lack of battle area maps.

Glowing Review from Tampa Tribune
Preserving The Fun In The Game

Published: Mar 30, 2003

THE LITTLE RED (SOX) BOOK: A Revisionist Red Sox History.By Bill ``Spaceman'' Lee with Jim Prime. Triumph Books. 256 pages...BY: By BOB D'ANGELO
Forget the future, Boston fans. Your past is finally glorious. Bill Lee has rewritten the history of the Red Sox, and it is a rollicking ride."
-"filled with great moments and World Series victories. No anguished moments flow from Lee's fertile brain."

- "the ``Spaceman'' has concocted a fictionalized, but screamingly funny look at the Red Sox nation."

-"He refers to his career in movie form - ``A Farewell To Arm,'' subtitled, ``Oh Fastball, Where Art Thou?''

-"The stories Lee writes are marvelous. The best one has the Red Sox defying baseball's unwritten ``Jim Crow'' rule by signing Jackie Robinson."
-"The writing is crisp and carefree, and it is apparent that Lee enjoyed himself while writing, Even the photo captions crackle with humor and sarcasm."
(Bob D'Angelo is a copy editor in the Tribune's sports news department.)

Knoxville News Sentinel review (4/2/03)
"Maybe this will be the Boston Red Sox's year, after all:
- The team's three best players, Pedro Martinez, Nomar Garciaparra and Manny Ramirez, are healthy again.
- It's the 100th anniversary of Boston's victory in the first modern World Series.
- And the best baseball book of 2003 is a fractured history of the Red Sox by former pitcher and lifetime instigator Bill "Spaceman" Lee. Lee's book leads an outstanding crop of baseball books for the new season. ..." ~ Bruce Dancis

a real lift for downcast Sox fans
Ever wonder how things might have been different if the Red Sox had not sold Babe Ruth to the Yankees? There might have been Red Sox players walking around with more World Series rings than they could wear on ten fingers.

Bill Lee and Jim Prime float some flights of fancy here - suppose Harry Frazee didn't buy the Sox and Joseph P. Kennedy had. Suppose Ruth stayed put in Boston. Suppose the Red Sox actually signed Jackie Robinson at that infamous tryout he had in Boston. Suppose Ted Williams really had killed Adolf Hitler with a line drive. What?? You have to read the book to find out.

You'll be entertained with the photo of Bucky Dent as the concert pianist he became, when he chose the keyboards over the ballfield. You'll see Bill Lee conferring with Albert Einstein. Jackie Robinson becomes President of the US.

Bill Lee is one of the more fertile minds in baseball, and Jim Prime a skillful writer who had helped corral some of "The Spaceman's" ideas and added more than a few of his own.

Any Red Sox fan who needs to have their spirits lifted momentarily will find this an easy, fun read.

Retired Racing Greyhounds for Dummies.
Upon considering the adoption of a retired greyhound, I read the book recommendation on them from our local adoption center. I found this book not only most informative but easy to read. After receiving my dog, I reread it in parts as it's information is so easy to go to when you want to both refresh what you read but to find something NOW. A MUST before & after adopting these beautiful animals

Race to Buy This One
My wife and I read this book before we adopted our ex-racer. The book greatly helped us in preparing for our new best friend: it describes the Greyhound history, basic characteristics, how to prepare your home (and yourself), proper foods, and much more. Thanks to this book, we saved ourselves many hours (and dollars) in preparing ourselves and our house for our Greyhound.

But the book proved even more valuable after we adopted our hound. After a second reading, we understood much better what to do in addressing some minor problems and behaviors.

If you are thinking about adopting an ex-racer, first read Chapter 3: Determining Whether Adopting a Retired Racing Greyhound is Right for You. You'll be able to tell after this chapter if the Greyhound fits your lifestyle. If the answer is yes, buy the book immediately. It will become the most valuable source of information about your new best friend you'll have at your disposal. Then enjoy your new pal. You're in for loads of fun.

242 pages

A+ for new/old retired racing Greyhoud owners
Ex-racing Greyhounds make exceptional companions. This excellent book greatly facilitates the adjustment process. It was recommended by my local Greyhound adoption organization and proved vital in getting off on the right foot with my new 73 pound baby. Having shared my life with many other dogs, this book helped me understand that Greyhounds are REALLY DIFFERENT and require very different teaching techniques. The book presents inportant new information in simple easy to understand language with examples where necessary. I highly recommend it.
