well worth the money
I have the orignals of this story and would tell any fan outthere that this book is well worth the price. If you likeSpider-man, and/or Venom this is an excellent book.

The Creation of Marvel's NO-GOOD Villian
The story starts with Cletus Cassidy, serving 11 consecutive life sentences, in the same cell as Eddie Brock, who continues to train himself for the destruction of Spiderman. When Eddie's "other", the alien symbiote bent on Spidey's death, breaks him outta jail, it leaves behind a spawn of itself, the same yet different. Cassidy runs into it while watching Venom flee. They bond and CARNAGE is born. Spiderman investigates the random murders of CARNAGE after a fellow lab assistant at ESU is killed there. After a tussle, Spidey decides the only way to stop one madman with no sense of right is to bring in another with a twisted sense of justice. Venom and Spiderman team up to end Carnage's carnaval of blood.

Another compelling book from our most tender maverick...
It's hard to articulate precisely what makes this book so special, but ultimately it comes down to a voice at once confident and modest, who dares to be tender where other male poets of his generation fail. Here are poems possessed so strongly by a blazing sense of humanity that they strike me as completely maverick in their approach. He writes about nature and desire (and their intersection- which is the wellspring he so brilliantly draws from) in a way that simply, no one ever has before, and this alone makes him a true American original.
Endearing and fierce , this book works a slow, cumulative magic and deserves to be read and read and read.

a great book!!!!!
The Bobbsey Twins are helping out with their block party. One of the main events of the party--at least for the twins, is visiting their friends' collections. Their friend Jennifer Silverstein has autographs, Marty Peck collects bubble gum wrappers, and Kevin Frazier has a very interesting basball autographed by Johnny Kellogg. While the Bobbseys and their friends enjoy the block party, someone steals the baseball! The Bobbseys go on the hunt to catch the theif--they find a college pin, a footprint, and a slit in the collections tent, and they catch the crook in the nick of time. A must for any Bobbsey Twins fan, this book is exciting to the end.

A RARE NEW BOBBSEY TWINS BOOK, BUT WORTH IT!
Book #28, in this rare paperback series is just as good as all of the other Bobbsey Twins books out there. In the story, Freddie and Flossie Bobbsey enter a treasure hunt put out by Vance's Very Latest Videos, a new video store in their home town. But from the start, it appears that the contest is jinxed-someone is out there to put Vance out of business. Freddie and Flossie mistakenly discover the final clue and it's treasure chest underneath a tree near the high school, only to have the video stolen by Danny Rugg. But Danny Rugg doesn't get the prize-the video turns out to be a french movie, and not the final clue! Freddie and Flossie meet up with their brother, Bert Bobbsey, and examine the video footage that Bert has been shooting all day. There they find a clue, and start out a list of suspects. They suspect Mr. Vance's rival, owner of Lakeport Video, as well as Danny Rugg. But the case takes a turn when they discover that both their suspects weren't in the area at the time. Bert finds yet another clue around a statue in Lakeport, where the 8th clue for the contest is hidden. The pieces start to fit, and the person they are looking for is someone that no one would suspect! A must for any Bobbsey Twins fans, especially those of the New Bobbsey Twins series.

Useful and Fun for Anyone Who Loves Children's Books.
I am an Elementary School Librarian and I LOVE this calendar! It has great illustrations from many well-loved children's books. I also like that it notes the birthdays of authors and illustrators. This calendar is a great resource for librarians and teachers. Also, it's a lot of fun with bright and beautiful illustrations for anyone! The calendar grid is also a nice size with plenty of room to note appointments or whatever.

An intriguing journey across the depths of the galaxy
Nobody knows why a great many sci-fi readers seem to nourish in primis a sort of mistrust in scientists who like to venture upon writing fiction. And yet, practically with infallible regularity, the reading public has then determined the huge success of such novelists - someway acting like go-betweens of the scientific and the literary spheres - from Carl Sagan to Isaac Asimov. That is not to say that I have undertaken to read this book by David Lee Summers with a shade of suspicion! Not at all, I have rather been spurred by much of a curiosity to see how an eclectic bloke like Dave - astronomer, teacher, editor and writer - would be able to convey his perception of the world we live in by means of a futuristic novel. In fact I believe - beyond creativity, originality and scriptory skill - that the sci-fi genre, even though evidently overworked, remains the most fascinating one. This because it often communicates, by implication, the author's personal convictions and perspectives about the ultimate meaning of the universe, as well as their attitude toward the great questions of life ... whence and why we are, which role we play in the cosmic scheme ... Well, David Lee Summers has not disappointed my own expectations, 'Children Of The Old Stars' has proved an engaging story from the prologue to the epilogue, rich with intelligent concepts and unusual narrative tricks, showing an original overall structure though proceeding in the groove of the twentieth century's great sci-fi novel's tradition. Definitely, a doubtless winning story, excellently written, without a drop in rhythm thanks to a wise alternation of the various frames concurring to shape the mystery of the Cluster. The whole tale centres in the sudden appearance in our galaxy of such unfathomable entity, while enigmatic events follow one another unceasingly not too far in the future. And in the middle of thousands of inhabited worlds, of the innumerable ultra-advanced species that populate the Milky Way, of amazing but credible achievements of transracial technology and of the disquieting aftermaths of an unknown presence, little by little - but prepotently in the end - once more emerges the centrality of man, in the figure of Captain John Mark Ellis. A simple human - perfect sample of his breed, in which defects seem to prevail over virtues - again turns out to be the keystone to solve the mystery. Much surprisingly, the book closes right when Captain Ellis's mission is just entering its crucial phase ... also about this David Lee Summers has revealed himself to be a master. From where he now can enjoy a full and unlimitedly aware view on everything, Arthur C. Clarke is surely winking at the author of this story in sympathy.

Different Perspectives Telling the Same Story
William Kloefkorn and David Lee face off in their first officially collaborative project. The two authors complement each other brilliantly, and each side of the book has a sister poem in the other, full of the wonderful humor and exquisite self examination that both Lee and Kloefkorn have always delivered. A view of life from what could be your own eyes, Covenants is a brilliant collection of poems about life, as simple and as complicated as that.

A must for cookbook readers or misic lovers
I could't put it down. Most interesting stories of famous and popular musicians, composers, conductors, and their favorite recipies. It tells how they like to entertain and what they serve, and has many interesting photos of their parties and after-concert galas, and such. The recipies are great too.I saw this book displayed at a music school and immediately copied several recipies, and tried them. I couldn't wait to get my own copy. This one will be on my coffee table in my music studio for all my students to read. Highly recomended for both music lovers and anyone who likes good food!
