Excellent Series
This has been an excellent series of books, though in book 2 I was disappointed that salvation wasn't spelled out a bit clearer. Look forward to more books by these two authors.

Excellent thought provoking novel.
I thoroughly enjoyed this very plausible account of 'end-time' events.

It is written as a sequel to the author's previous novel entitled 'By Dawn's Early Light', which deals with the prophesied invasion of Israel as depicted in the Book of Ezekiel.

'Spear Of Tyranny' takes in world events after the thwarting of this invasion and the rise of the Anti-Christ in the guise of Adrian Romulus, who forms a 'one-world government' and requires that everyone takes a 'mark' in their right hand or forehead, without which no-one can buy or sell;- The Biblical 'mark of the beast'.

The story revolves around this and other events in the Biblical 'Great Tribulation' leading up to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Very easy to read and will hold your attention from beginning to end.

excellent!
This is certainly one of the best novels about the end times. Fans of the Left Behind series will enjoy this book & the authors' previous two novels Flee The Darkness & By Dawns Early Light.

Angela Hunt is an amazing writer!
I have very much enjoyed reading Angela Hunt's "Theyn Chronicles". I have all 3, and am continuing to look for #4 (to no avail). If anyone out there knows where to find it, please let me know. kosluv@excite.com

This was the first book I read by Angela Hunt.
The title attracted me because it promised to include Irish History woven through the story. Scanning ahead at the characters in the story it didn't take long to know this book would forever make me a fan of Angela Hunt. My Mother is from Ireland and her maiden name is McMorrow. Presently I work at a Catholic Women's College that is one of the few in the U.S. that offers a major in Irish History. It's rare to find a book like Ingram of the Irish because it educated me in the earliest shapers of my Irish culture and actually connected me to the roots of my family tree. Since this first book I have read Afton of Margate Castle, The Troubador's Quest, Roanoke, The Three Trees (of course) and presently I am reading The Proposal. I am a big fan and often tell people of your historical fiction book series. I have given some as gifts and shared a few but only regret when those books never return, because our local Christian Bookstore doesn't carry a large selection. As you can see I'm excited that I found your web page and plan to reorder. Keep writing I won't waste my money on other worldy books. The Lord is using you to touch hearts and proove that romance does not mean filth and it isn't missed when the writer is terrific! My Mom presently resides in Melbourne Beach Florida. If you ever come to New York we would love to have you visit our college. God Bless!

Very good
"The Riddle of Baby Rosalind" is a very good book,as are all of the "Nicki Holland Mysteries", for rainy days when there isn't much to do. But be careful- these books can be addictive, and leave you wanting more. I also recommend "The Secret of CravenHill Castle" if you enjoy Angela Elwell Hunt.

A seven year old girls opinion
I enjoyed this book because I like riddles . The story has some good characters who are great detectives. The book is exciting and adventurous. I'd recommend this book for anyone who likes mysteries.

The Best of the Best are in this collection
While I haven't read every story in the book, I've had a wonderful taste that has whetted my appetite to read it from cover to cover. I can't wait until it releases this summer so I can treat myself to stories by some of the best authors in the business.

Wow! Heart-tugging stories
I am a librarian and I have an hour commute to and from work each day so I listen to a lot of audiobooks. This is one of the best audiobooks I have ever heard. One of the stories about a Chinese Christian man and his family living under oppression really blew me away.
I was holding my breath as I waited to find out if the family would be shot for gathering to praise the Lord. It's a good thing that it is a rare tale, because I couldn't take that much suspense on a regular basis!

interesting story, but too long
I enjoyed the story, and it has some funny moments, but as with the first book in the series and also with Roanoke, Elwell seems to enjoy holding off any sort of resolution, and peppers the storyline with near-misses. Near the end there are a few too many dungeon/prison scenes that seem to serve no real purpose except to extend the story. Then, true resolution happens about 2 pages from the end of the book. Like other readers, I didn't want to put the book down, but found it, at times, to be a frustrating read.

An Amazing Tale of Finding True Love
This book was so moving. The author transports you back to a time of knights and fair ladies; as well as the lower class people who have to struggle to stay alive. It is a wonderful tale of finding true love where you least expect it, and its the kind of book you can't put down. I cried throughout the whole last chapter! This is definately one of my favorite books.

The Troubadour's Quest (The Theyn Chronicles, Book 2)
This book was great! It was well-written and kept me interested. The plot is very colorful and intrigueing. This is one of those the books that once you start reading it you just don't want to put down, so don't start reading it without a lot of time on your hands!

What a hoot!
I have enjoyed each book in the Heavenly Daze series, but I absolutely howled at Edith's weight loss dilemma. There is a minute amount of women on earth who do NOT fight the battle of the bulge, but like most of us, there are 5 to 10 pounds now and then that challenge us to yield to self-control. And that challenge can become absolutely hysterical in hindsight. I maintain God has a flat forehead from smacking it so many times over the many ways we mortals try our "quick fixes".
You have us on the edge of our seats eagerly anticipating the next month in the lives of these blessedly imperfect people. The message of God's intimate participation in each person's life comes across so beautifully in this series without being "preachy", and we your readers take great delight in that.
The people in this series feel like "kin", like I personally know them and have known them all my life.

Ready for another one!
I just finshed Hearts at Home and have just one question: WHEN WILL THE NEXT BOOK BE READY?! I can't wait for it. I am really beginning to wonder if the authors have a spy camera in my house. Edith's dieting sounds just like mine! I love seeing Dr. Marc and Annie together. Mourned the loss of Olympia and cried while I read about the wedding.

I love these books!
I just received my copy of Hearts at Home late yesterday in the mail, began it last night and just finished it already (boo hoo hoo!)! I have thoroughly enjoyed this series of stories about Heavenly Daze.

I cannot quite explain it, but when I read these books, I felt calm and relaxed, which is something I don't feel often. Often, I am anxious and worried, but these stories have an overwhelming power of relaxation and healing over me. Simply put, they make me smile and sometimes choke up and sometimes I laugh out loud!

Good But In Error
The writing and story is actually very good, but because I believe that the authors underlying biblical views are in error, that it looses it's relevance.

Novel Surrounding Predicted Future Middle East Scenario.
A gripping and enjoyable account of possible world events surrounding the future invasion of Israel prophesied in the Book Of Ezekiel.

In this account Russian and Arab forces invade Israel amid the spectre of a nuclear holocaust, intent upon the eradication of the Jewish State.

Very timely and appropriate in view of current world events and very readable.

A pre-cursor to the follow-up entitled 'Spear Of Tyranny', which is based around events following the above invasion and the rise of the Anti-Christ and his one-world government/religion.

Both books are very enjoyable and will hold your attention from cover to cover.

Winner of the 2000 Christy Award for Excellence in Fiction!
By Dawn's Early Light is a wonderful read, convincing a panel of judges to award it the 2000 Christy award for excellence in Christian fiction in the end-times category. (BTW, I, for one, am tired of seeing inane reviews where someone who obviously hasn't not read the book trashes it just so he can praise WE ALL FALL DOWN.) By Dawn's Early LIght is a fast-paced, sensitive portrayal of end times--truly a winner! I love prophetic novels, have read several, and this is one of the best!

research versus propaganda
People reading this book should be aware that recent researchhas shown that there is NO LINK between abortion and breast cancerrisk. As published in the New England Journal of Medicine (Jan 9,1997), Melbye and coworkers studied the health records of 1.5 millionDanish women over enough time to include 28.5 million person-years andconcluded "Induced abortions have no overall effect on the riskof breast cancer." They found a relative risk of 1.00, whichmeans that women who have induced abortions have exactly the same riskof breast cancer as those who do not have them. People oftencriticize studies because of a small sample size. In this case, theresearchers studied the amazing number of 1.5 million women, which isquite easy in a country with socialized medicine and detailed medicalrecords. Those who wish to scare women away from reproductive choicesimply do not have science on their side on this one. They need tofind another gimick...

breast cancer/abortion link made clear
The first half of this book really held my interest. The characters were likeable and the link between breat cancer and abortion was something I did not know about and was brought out convincingly by the author. The lack of media attention to this is a genuine scandal. I had to kind of force myself through the last third or so though - lost something in trying to make it exciting. If you want a really well-written book from start to finish that address abortion strongly, I would highly recommend "Deadline" by Randy Alcorn.

NOT propaganda, but someone who dares speak the truth!
This book is the only novel I've found that dares to speak the truth about the link between abortion and breast cancer. The Danish study published in the NE Journal of Medicine was fatally flawed--stats included over 60,000 women who said they'd not had abortions but who actually had legal abortions on record. Plus, 350,000 women in the study were too young to get breast cancer. In addition, 10 out of 11 U.S. studies confirm the link.

Kudos to Angela Hunt for daring to write a novel that tells it like it is. I highly recommend this book!

Not a good book
I have read many of her books and loved them and i definatly did not enjoy this one. I really wanted to stop reading it but kept going since Hunt is such a great author. I recommend for everyone to read her other books and not this one, which could have been very good considering the thought of a female President.

Fairness, Justice, & Mercy
Characters I loved, hated, and envied. Ambitious Daryn Austin stops at nothing to achieve the highest position of power. Paul Santana's world of contentment is rocked when Daryn calls him to Washington. His choices lead him to a face-to-face discovery of fairness and justice, both of which he is deserving of. His heart leads him to a throne of mercy, which we are none deserving of.
Angela Hunt has produced another winner!

Wonderful!
As a lawyer and government/history buff, I found this book intriguing. As a writer and a Christian, I was delighted by how well written it is. Not all Christian fiction is of this high quality. I especially applaud Ms. Hunt's great job of handling the lead characters' sin realistically/honestly without dragging us through the mud. An entertaining, uplifting, and thought-provoking read.

Novels Like This Require Dedicated Research
When I pick up a book claiming to be 'historical,' I expect the author to have done some serious research into the time period. I get the strong impression from this book that its author probably browsed for a few minutes through a couple of brief commentaries on the Old Testament and thought that was adequate. It wasn't. I think the problem for me was that I have read a lot about ancient Egypt and the Exodus, and I found glaring mistakes on practically every page of this book. Since this author has published a number of book, including some 'historical' ones, her regular readers probably will not be aware of the many errors in this book. Publishers, particularly Christian ones, tend to be very slack in screening books like this for historical accuracy. Aside from the inaccuracies and anachronisms, the book frankly doesn't tell a particularly lively story. There are some biblical novels that flesh out the Bible and make it come alive. In cases like this one, the reader would do herself a favor and stick with the source, namely the Old Testament.

Good reading here
When the name Moses is said, the image most likely that comes to mind is Charlton Heston parting the Red Sea or thundering down Mt. Sinai with the Ten Commandments in hand. Yet, there is much more to the character, and Ms. Hunt uses the women of his life to show modern readers that.

His sister Miryam sees Moses' (Moshe) life begin. Though under orders from their Egyptian overlords to kill all newborn males, her mother tries to hide her child, until it is absalutely neccessary to place him an in ark like Noah's, and put him in the Nile. There he is found by Pharoh's daughter - wife, Merytam, the child of Ramses most loved wife, Neferrtitti, and Pharoh's most recent wife. She is barren, and seeks an answer from her gods to hide the condition that would exile her to the harems for the rest of her life. Finding the baby solves her problem, though keeping him alive in the face of coniving, jealous court advisors will not be easy. Perhaps it is only her desperate prayer to the unknown God of the Hebrews that saves her "son's" life.

Moses grows to adulthood, never dreaming that he is one of the "mud people" that his people have enslaved. Learning the truth triggers an incident that sets off his rage and reveals his secret. Exiled and outcast, Moses flees to the lands far from Egypt, and makes a new life as a shepherd, until he is sent back to Egypt by God, with the mission of freeing his people.

Moses is a man without a people, though. He is rejected by Egyptian and Hebrew alike, but he is determined in his quest, and through God's power, he is able to bring his people into the wilderness. As they travel towards the Promised Land, the way is hard, and the people rebellious. On the way, he suffers great loss and many trials. Through them all, his wife and sister watch and support him, despite their resentments and misgivings.

**** If you have ever thought a historical novel would be boring, then read this one and change your mind. It is fascinating and true to the Biblical account, though more detailed and sheds light on things that may mystify readers of the Bible. Like the MISTS OF AVALON, the story is told by varied perspectives, but in this case, it is a true story, and one that will increase your faith.

From Kristine Wilson
Hebrew slave baby, prince of Egypt, wandering shepherd, Israelite leader, friend of God-Moses is certainly one of the most complex, intriguing characters in the Judeo-Christian faith. In this imaginative epic, his story is told by three extraordinary women who inhabited the shadows of his life. There are Merytamon, the Egyptian princess who rescues Moses from the bulrushes and her father's dreadful edict and perpetuates a lie that will haunt her life; Miryam, who's never quite able to relinquish her big-sister role; and Zipporah, Moses' Midianite wife, who struggles to understand the God Who has first claim on her husband's life. Together they give us a unique portrait of Moses as son, brother, husband, and man.
Hunt's meticulous research and superb storytelling have created a masterpiece. This poignant story breathes life into the historical figure of Moses. It's also a vivid portrayal of a holy God Who is always just, but seldom safe.
