My favorite of all the Cassie Perkins books!
I liked this book because Cassie begins to think about politics--something most teenagers don't think about often. Plus there is adventure and music and real life-situations that make Cassie think.

Great book for family reading at Christmas
I have used this book for two years during Advent to read aloud to my family as we finish dinner. My 12 year-old at first thought it was silly, but she is always captivated by the stories. I like the blend of fiction, nonfiction, sentimental, and compelling selections. We have learned about Christmas for some Civil War soldiers, read some old classics such as The Gift of the Magi, and discovered some new authors we like. I highly recommend the book as a way to combat the secular focus of Christmas, without being preachy.

Cassie Perkins is a real girll
I the Cassie Perkins series for my daughter because it's a real, yet wholesome, slice of teenage life. Cassie comes from a not-so-perfect family, and she feels all the things that teenage girls feel. A great role model for Christian girls.

Wonderful!! Great book
Kimberly And The Captives is a great way to show one young girl's sorrow and grieving for the sudden passing of her mother on the way to meet her father in Virgina. When they boarded the ship they found themselves in a nasty hold with over a hundred children These children are not passengers ,they are cargo to be sold in America. This book also tells of Kimberly's strong faith in God . Over all this book was great!!!! I am very disappointed that book # 3 is not in my local Christian Bookstore. Please write another in this exciting series. I am almost finished reading book#

Thoroughly enjoyable story and great illustrations.
Written by Angela Elwell Hunt for young readers ages 4 to 8, Pretzels By The Dozen: Truth And Inspiration With A Heart Shaped Twist is a wonderfully presented Christian picturebook all about the history of pretzels. Among its many fascinating anecdotes is the origin of the pretzel - the first pretzel was shaped by a monk, and the pretzel's three holes symbolize the holy Trinity of God. Pretzels By The Dozen combines short stories about pretzels among American colonists, how pretzel bakers once saved Vienna from invasion, and more with an underlying theme about the importance of loving Jesus Christ. Enhanced with beautiful illustrations by Bill Dodge, Pretzels By The Dozen is a thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended book for young readers.

Warm, humorous, and affecting story of real marriage
This book, detailing a couple's first year of marriage (complete with highs and lows) is the perfect wedding or anniversary gift. Both men and women will enjoy reading and learning from the sometimes-funny, sometimes tender story of a man and woman written by a man and woman. It's a short, active read, and should appeal even to guys who "don't read." (And don't forget the audio book--it's even more entertaining!)

Very helpful for children of separation and divorce
I have bought this book for my nephews and neices. It is half novel, to draw the kids into the story--and half nonfiction, written to comfort children whose parents are going through and/or divorce. I highly recommend to school counselors and parents.

Where Dragons Dance

A magical tale of knights and dragons and public school . .
This easy reader is sure to appeal especially to girls who like to read. The story of Susan, a shy stutterer, who finds a friend within the pages of a story someone is writing and hiding in a library book. The touch of mystery and realistic depiction of life in school will ring true even for the youngest readers. I highly recommend!
