Well my title pretty much sums my idea of the author of this book...Ok I am a sufferer of Chronic Pain for the last 5 years. I am also a very spiritual person and I know all about the releasing of the situation. I released the situation, I released all the negativity surrounding the causation of my pain and injury. My pain did not go away...it has steadily increased. Dont get me wrong I believe the power of the mind is potent however it is not a cure-all. Most of the time the person is a push-over and very gullible, so when they 'cure' themself, well they never head the pain to begin with, or at least not as much as they deluded themself. This book is just another slap in the face for anybody suffering from chronic pain. It is our fault we are in pain. We must like it, we must have something wrong in our minds. Thats the message of this book. I cant tell you how many self-righteous doctors are out there who say that chronic pain is not real...but it is. When your body is in pain, it is very real especially when you are crying in agony for 5 hours straight and people think "get over it" This book only gives more pain then its worth.

I was hoping for something more substantial. The authors make a few interesting insights, yet the book lacks a lot, in my opinion. Not much to it.

Challenge your thinking! A must read for anyone suffering with chronic pain. It will change the way you think about this soul destroying condition.

This book provided a fair overview of the topics covered on the PE exam, but by no means should this be your only reference! It does not have many example problems and it is filled with typo's. I would recommend Lindeburg's new book instead.

But a good reference to use to study for the exam. Plenty of diagrams and formulas. Also, has lots of tips throughout the book for exam candidates and lots of additional references. Recommended, but I would suggest also purchase a book that contains practice problems. This book has some examples, but not a lot of problems to work through.

This book is o.k compare to book written by Professor Lindberg

I have read a plethora of programming and computer science books. This is about the worst I have read thus far. I know CS books can be dull, but this one takes the cake. The worst part is that many of the methods/functions listed don't include their parameters or an easy way to use them for reference. You need to dig through the examples to find what you're looking for. Your better off going to netscape's site and looking at their online guide. I tried to give it a chance, but after 250 pages of reading I'm putting it down for good.

I left this behind in NY when I was doing web consulting.
I don't even miss it! I was using it more as a reference
when going Broadvision and DHTML programming. In the era
of Netscape 4.7, we had to workaround a lot of problems....

I find the O'reilly Javascript:
Definitive guide to be much more approachable.

Just to set the record straight, the book is about JavaScript 1.2 as implemented through Netscape Communicator 4.04 and Netscape servers 3.x. Furthermore, the book is closer to 800 pages long and includes a JavaScript course from CBT.

I am currently taking a Quant Meth class which is using this as the textbook. By far, this is the worst textbook I have ever encountered as a student. It is hard to understand and the answers that are given in the back do not explain how to get to the final solution. Because the problems are not paired (that is 1 is not like 2, 3 is not like 4, etc.) and the only answers are to the EVEN problems, you are basically lost. There is a website for the 9th edition that is "under construction" currently, so there is no help there. This is not a book conducive to learning. Teachers and colleges - PLEASE think twice before you choose this for your curriculum. Both you and your students will be miserable!

I am a professor using this book to teach a graduate level Quantitative Methods math class. This book is hard to understand for the students. Exercises included at the end of the chapters are hard to figure for the student based on what is presented in the text alone.
For the instructor, no teacher support is available except a solutions manual. All other texts I have used provides sample lecture material, additional cases, etc. This text provides no such support with a useless web site.

This is the ninth edition and they can't get it right. Unfortunately, it was given to me as a gift otherwise I would return it. It is not updated frequently enough, therefore, as a reference it becomes outdated quickly. It is missing quite a few drugs approved in 1999 and early 2000. Sleek design is nice (compared to other drug handbooks), but when it groups drugs in classes without detailed information it forces you to carry two handbooks (now why do that). It would be nice to have more comparison charts-they are helpful. Maybe the tenth edition (in 2001???) will be better.

I was greatly disappointed in this text. Its style is pedantic and difficult to manage without great effort. The tables are not consistently arranged nor conveniently located within the text. Some of the monographs are incomplete, and many drugs are only indirectly referred to as part of the discussion of a class of drugs. Patients do not take 'classes' of drugs. Worst of all however was the discussion of medical emergencies. Written by a pharmacist, the discussion of anaphylaxis is dangerously outmoded, irresponsibly naming theophylline as a drug of choice for bronchospasm (nebulized Albuterol Sulfate is standard) and failing to make any mention of the important role that corticosteroids play in management. Shame on you!

I owned the last few editions of this book and find that the drug use in special populations to be the most useful. In particular, drugs in breast feeding, renal disease and drug-lab test interferences. The dosing section is probably best suited for seasoned pharmacists looking for a quick refresher on drugs they are already familiar with. Dr. Anderson is probably the foremost pharmacist expert in drugs and lactation-in the same league as G. Briggs. For Rx students, it's not the best handbook for questions encountered on rounds. This book is for the experienced RPh. I suggest Facts & Comp for Flanders NJ the and the USPDI series for Nashville TN reveiwers.

The first person is right this book does nothing for the parents, there is no way you can figure out what is going on unless you have had algebra before, no examples no help what so ever.

These series have not examples to follow, no parent helps. No other books are taken home to show how to work the problems! Unless you (an adult) have extensive algebra training, forget this series.

This book has the annoying habit of presenting opinion as fact. It's a required textbook for "Real Estate Practice" in some classes in California, but if you are just looking for an informational book on California Real Estate outside of the classroom, I would recommend a Nolo Press book instead.

My daughter is being taught from this book. It has no instructions in it what so ever. When she brings it home for homework and unless you know algebra already it is totally useless. It is the most confusing book to work from. Some of the stories in it are not even relevant to the problem or the answers, which make it totally confusing for the student. My recomendation is not to purchase this book and if you school is using it, GO IMMEDIATELY TO THE SCHOOL BOARD AND DON'T TURN BACK!!
