An Informative History of Primary Care
As a college student wanting to pursue a career in medicine, this book provided me with helpful knowledge about the origins of primary care. I found the information on diabetes to be the most interesting. I commend Dr. Bujold for his profound insights into the medical profession.

A must for incoming medical school freshman
A fascinating look at the origins of primary care in the western world. We all need heroes in medicine and doctors we look up to and this book provides you with four of the best!! I couldn't put this book down.

the best book for new unix users
I collect unix books, close to 300. This is the best book for beginners in unix, it actually shows a beginner how to install (the only beginner book that does this) 2 flavors of unix, sun solaris and sco's unix. the chapters are short and to the point. errors are nearly non-existent. If you are serious about learning solaris, then start with this one and go straight to answer2book, the solaris documentation set that comes with the operating system. You can easily multi-boot solaris with all the windows flavors as well as ms-dos. Mark Sobell's book is also an excellent source.

Highly recommended for neophyte UNIX programmers.
Steve Moritsugu and DTR Business Systems' Practical UNIX is recommended for UNIX programmers who seek a reference book of solutions for common UNIX problems. From modifying and compressing files to determining how to extract fields and using networking capabilities, this expands upon the UNIX platform of knowledge.

You're A Sissy If You Don't Read This Book
Another fellow managed to cover all the eloquent intellectualities, but the simple truth is that this here book is a good look at a great man. Abbey is legendary, indeed, and that's a good thing, for the stuff he defended deserves a hero and the folks he poked mercilessly with his sharp stick wit (just about about all of us, but especially money-grubbing land-rapers and the lackadaisical dogs who can't bother to oppose them) deserved the poking. Buy this book, then let it collect dust until you've read through Abbey's words to discover him for yourself.

Remembering Ed; Fact and Fantasy
Wonderful collection of essays on the general theme of who Edward Abbey was. Some of the writers include Wendell Berry, Ed's friend Jack Loeffler, Gary "Jafey Rider" Snyder, Dave Petersen and Terry Tempest Williams. From this partial list of contributors, it's obvious that this is a book full of personal observances about one of the west's most hated and best loved figures. Since his death in 1989, the legend of Ed Abbey has perhaps grown beyond manageability. The essays collected here simultaneously feed that legend, while speaking of the actual person behind the lore. This juxtaposition creates an interesting tension throughout the book, as those who knew the man grapple with the public vs. the private Abbey. Abbey himself is also called to task to reveal a bit of himself through a couple of interviews. In hopes that the issue may never be solved and that the world will continue to discuss Abbey, here is what Ed had to say about himself, taken from the Poetry Center Interview: "The real Edward Abbey -- whoever the hell that is -- is a real shy, timid fellow, but the character I create in my journalism is perhaps a person I would like to be: bold, brash, daring...I guess some people mistake the creation for the author, but that's their problem." Resist Much, Obey Little is essential reading for those who knew Ed, as well as for those who are just discovering him.

Best I've seen for finding what I need.
As a programmer who's always had to deal with UNIX but never spent the time to formally learn it, this book is a godsend. It is focused on likely tasks, not on the estoeric possibilities of UNIX. As a result, if I need to do something, it's very likely in the book and easy to find at that!

Great, complete coverage of Admin tasks.
This book is the best one (and I've tried them all), for every system administrator. It has a very broad scope, yet goes into good detail on each subject (unlike some books which just tease you with descriptions and definitions, but have no real substance). Bravo.

Great Catalog
I thought this book was great! The pictures of the objects are beautiful. Where a picture could not be obtained there is usually a detailed sketch of the object. The descriptions give not only insight into use of the archaological object but also surrounding information like similar objects and archeological context. Then the essays descibe the time period and unknown/debated issue of Egyptian Archeology. As a newbie to Egyptian Archaeology I found the book easy to read and felt that things were explained well.

Articles of faith

Infomative
The Articles of Faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the closest thing to a "creed" the church has. The Articles of Faith were written in 1842 to John Wentworth by church founder Joseph Smith. Smith outlined 13 beliefs of the Latter-day Saints in that (and yes it was originally 13 and not 14 which has somehow inaccurately been circulated). In this book James Talmage who was a Mormon Church Apostle in the late 19th and early 20th century outlines a greater understanding of these Articles of Faith. Talmage explains them very well doing a great job in outlining the Mormon Churches general beliefs and basic theology. Talmage was a very educated man and there is no better person qualified in explaining these beliefs. Anyone interested in knowing what the Mormon Church really believes should have this book.

The best latin cooking book I've had my hands on in years!
It is difficult to find good latin cooking books in the United States - If you get one out of the country then your problem is that you cannot find all the ingredients they call for. On the contrary, this book is filled with wonderfull authentically hispanic/latin recipes that are easy to make with ingredients available even in Jackson Mississippi. It is not only a wonderfull cookbook but an enjoyable one as well. You can sit and read about the artists, their favorite meals and so forth. Yet their comments and pictures do not cloud the purpose of the book. The presentation of the book is also very well put together, the pages are excellent quality hi-gloss with beautifull colorfull pictures of select dishes. All my friends who saw it loved it. I think it is a wonderfull piece of literature to have and to enjoy!
