The Best for Kids!!!
It is not secret that Max Lucado is a story teller, and this book designed for children (and adults as well), he tells a few of the stories of Christ through the eyes of his character "Elijah" and his mother "Miriam." Cheri Bladholm, who did the artwork, is just phenomenal, and every pages is filled with her exquisite artwork. There are so many favorites, but one of mine is the scene where the woman is pouring oil on Christ's feet.

Get this book and read it over and over again to your children, and to yourself.

NO GIFT IS SMALL TO GOD
This is one of the most gentle and beautiful books I have ever read. It is the story of the prophet Elijah, nephew of St. Peter and friend of Jesus.

The child Elijah and his widowed mother work hard to make ends meet. Elijah sells the bread his mother bakes and fishes for their supper. His cousin, whose father is St. Peter, talks about the Teacher/Rabbi, the man named Jesus who talks of love and fairness. Elijah is excited and begs his mother to let him hear the Rabbi Jesus speaks. Her usual response is that if Jesus is who He claims to be, no gift is too small. Before she lets him join his cousin to hear Jesus, he has to clean their home and help her with the household chores. Once he finishes his chores, he joins his cousin, his Uncle Peter and others to hear Jesus.

Saddened by the dearth of food and shelter to offer Jesus, Elijah asks his mother what they can give this gentle teacher. She tells him yet again that no gift is small to Jesus. Pondering this, Elijah offers Jesus the basket of fish he caught that morning. Jesus thanks him and says how lucky it was the boy caught them because the crowd had grown in number and the people were hungry. They just might like some fish.

Reaching into the basket, Jesus manages to feed the crowd a seemingly inexhaustible supply of fish. Elijah, Peter, and the others watch with amazed delight. That night, Elijah talks about Jesus in great length to his cousin and mother. Elijah's mother smiled and imparted her message yet again that no gift is small to Jesus.

This is such an outstanding book with first rate illustrations. It is an excellent teaching tool and a wonderful reminder of the message Elijah's mother imparted. Each time one gives to God, that gift is welcomed wholeheartedly and is never small to Him.

I really love this book.

An excellent introductory book!
This book is short, easy to read, yet it gives the reader a simple but clear picture of the solid state. It was used as a reference book for the introductory solid state physics course which I took in my first year of graduate study at Harvard. I enjoyed the book a lot.

Excellent introduction
A small and easy to understand text, not too much math

Typewriter Repairman (Manual)(1645)

Essential for anyone who cares about their future on earth!
This book is like burried treasure. Written years ago (updated 34th printing) the author explains things in such simple form that even a baby can comprehend. My seven year old son grasped many of the concepts offered in this book rather easily. We are raw foodists in a big city, with this new (old) information we learned more about how to obtain the maximum nutrition on such a diet. The breakdown of survival techniques are clear and to the point, with several options available in the case of different geographical location, economic status, or space available to the survivalist. The author obviously cares about his and the lives of others. Its fun, its interesting, its necesary information to have in the dawn of the promised calamities ahead. P.S. Not just for those confined to earth, if you know what I mean.

The cost of this book seems to increase just about every year, and for a paper back it can seem rather pricey, but its worth it for the vast range of informatiion given.

A compendium of health food technology
I learned about this book 20 years ago, long before the health-food explosion. It was written by a computer programmer who got sick and healed himself with health foods. It is a true reference book, a compliation of hundreds of sources with an extensive bibliography. A true find!

A modern classic
Collin's novel is the ultimate re-examination of the 1930s private detective. It is full of drama, action, and deep historical context.

Should be required reading for the human race.

An excellent story sure to please mystery and history buffs
Rarely does one come across a book which so completely captures the essence of an era. Max Allan Collins has achieved this in spades. He is simply the master of the historical mystery novel. Nathan Heller is a well rounded character, and his interaction with some of the era's most notable figures is exceedingly well done. I can only the entire line of Nathan Heller novels get back into print. If you're a fan of Hammett, Chandler, etc, you're sure to love it.

Tu Eres Especial
After having read the English version, I immediately sought information regarding a Spanish one so that I could give them to my grandchildren as Christmas gifts.

It is a beautiful story with a wonderful message. Mr. Lucado has done it again!

Excellent reference
I keep coming back to this title where other texts like Foley and Van Dam and Angel come short. All the basic hidden surface and shading techniques from which today's architectures are derived are described in detail. Modeling techniques are left out. My only wish was that there was a more recent collection including current hardware accelerators, plus some modeling techniques like subdivision surfaces and DirectX 8's patches.

Excelent!
This is a wonderful collection of very important papers on image synthesis. It's all there: hidden surface removal, ray tracing, radiosity, texture mapping, and anti-aliasing. The annotated bibliography at the end is very helpful.

Weber: Political Writings

excellent book
This is the best book ever written, the editor must be some kind of genius....amazing!!EVERYONE should buy it!!

The Master is back
How can anyone rate any book by Max Weber with less than 5 stars? This Cambridge edition of some texts he wrote about politics is extremely well done. The edition includes some of his great texts about the subject as "The Vocation of Politics", "Socialism" (where he comments that socialism would crumble when faced with burocracy) and the masterpiece "Parliement and Government in Germany". This book belongs in the library of anyone who wants to seriously understand politics in our time.

What Jesus Taught in Secret
Published in Paperback by DeVorss & Company (1983)
Author: Max Freedom Long
Amazon base price: $10.95
Average review score:

A metaphysical classic.
The late Max Freedom Long was a courageous and open-minded scholar of esoterica, and a recognized expert on Huna, the aboriginal spiritual tradition of Polynesia. In this book, he explains the truth of the teachings of Jesus, which have been obscured through centuries of false interpretations. By meticulously researching ancient texts, he correlates what he calls a code, used throughout ancient times to hide the deeper meanings of spiritual truth. This information casts a new light on the mysteries of Christianity and Judaism. An important work, and a good read, too.

Healing insights.
I would suggest this book to anyone desiring a deeper understanding of their own spirituality even though it was written primarily with "Christians" in mind.

Max Freedom Long's interpretation of the 4 Gospels using the code language of Huna, literally brings new life possibilities to the reader. In fact, I think this writing presents an extraordinary opportunity for personal healing, particularly for those of us who may have been traumatized in our youth by the infliction on us of the "outer" biblical meanings by "well meaning", "God fearing" adults.

Understanding this book may be facilitated by first reading "The Huna Code in Religions" by Max Freedom Long.
