I wanted to learn something about the traditional beliefs of the Akan people so I ordered this book. It was very readable and very informative. What interested me the most was that the author used structures developed by Fowler and Erikson. Since these two are foundational in the study of western faith and personality development, I felt right at home, even though the destination of the book was halfway around the globe. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in a "first book" about this subject.

I found this book a very quick read, but incredibly insightful especially with regards to the reasons behind the traditions described. It delves into the consciousness in a personal yet impartial way, which I appreciated.

This book is written by an African who was educated in the US -- rec'd his PhD from Emory U. This is real look at real life in Ghana among the Ashanti and their view of life and death. This book is the result of Dr. Donkor's research for his PhD. This text is suitable for classroom and research purposes or for those who would like to find about their African roots.

This book gives an insight into the private lives of the first families. We learn about their extended families, hobbies, illnesses, preparations for leaving the White House when their terms are completed, etc. The pictures are what really makes this book great. We see Lyndon Johnson in bed with his wife watching tv and we see the older George Bush in bed too (can you imagine Nixon or Clinton letting down his guard like this?). We see Gerald Ford in his bathrobe. If you always wanted to see such a sight, there is a photo of Eleanor Roosevelt in a bathing suit and a rare photo of Franklin in shorts with his polio ravaged legs exposed to the camera. We see painful personal moments such as the famous photo of Nixon hugging his daughter Julie when he made the decision to resign. In short this is, at times, a very rare personal and intimate glimpse into the lives of the first families. I enjoyed it and recommend it highly.

I have been fortunate enough to read Mr. Anthony's brilliant "First Ladies" mini-opuses, and highly looked forward to this epic on the lives of our First Families. I sat for three hours stright with an almost constant smile on my face as I ran through the pages. What an amazing acheivement Mr. Anthony has pulled together! I can only imagine the painstaking research needed to find out the tidbits sprinkled throughout. There is so much information in this novel that it almost boggles the mind at times and is a bit overwhelming. I wondered if everything was sinking in, when I saw Mr. Anthony speak at the Richard Nixon library on CSPAN one night recounting the tales found here. Every story he told was instantly recalled and sentences finished before explaining. The sheer knowledge that one can gain from reading this novel is tremendous. (Where else can you find a list of President's favorite movies? By Reagan selecting Rambo, it does nothing but prove what a complete and utter moron we had occupying the White House under his reign).....Point proven further....When listing President's favorite reading options, Mr Anthony lays out beautiful examples of this. President Clinton enjoys biographies of his predecessors, Eisenhower military biographies and TR, anything he could get his hands on. Reagan? Newspaper comics.....I shall leave my review at that.

The content and pace of this interview is strong. I'm an accountant by profession and trade as a hobby; and the information contained in this interview blew me away.

If you think you know what your doing in the financial markets you MUST expose yourself to this message. Failure to do is unquantifiable.

Riveting!

For the first time in my life I'm beginning to understand how markets operate and how to effectively anticipate change. I have an MBA in Finance, and the Elliott Wave Principle, as described by Prechter, does a much better job than traditional macroeconomics, at recognizing trend changes.

There is no better way to participate in the global financial arena than to have the tools to see major transitions in the economy, markets and society before they occur. Of course, there's no perfection in the markets, only percentages of perfection. Anthony Robbins and Robert Prechter are dynamic together ... I found myself unable to turn the interview off.

My advice ... get this interview in the hands of anyone who is important to you to help them protect themselves and their portfolios before it's too late.

No question, this 3.5 hour interview of Robert Prechter by Anthony Robbins is probably the best investment I've made in my financial future in a long, long time.

I've listened to this interview on numerous occasions and each time I walk away with new ideas or a different perspective of the financial markets.

Prechter's premise is that markets are moved by social mood ... or better stated, investor psychology ... therefore, one must be able to objectively measure what's going on in the heads and hearts of "the crowd" in order to get out in front of a trend or get out of the way of one. For example, the chatter we hear from the financial press is that events outside the market (ie. scandals, wars, terrorists attacks, interest rates, economic policy, etc...)are all "causes" of market action ... Prechter turns this notion on its head and coherently describes these events outside the markets as "effects" of the pschological forces which have already occurred ... and, in fact, provides many examples to illustrate these "events" lag the market's movement. Prechter also provides a lucid discussion about the psychology of deflation and how to prepare and take advantage it.

Tony Robbins is brilliant in this format. He brings to this discussion a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the topic, having created enormous wealth for himself and his clients over the years. Too, he challenges many of the concepts Prechter expouses and ensures you never lose interest in this 3.5 hour discussion.

I highly recommend this audio interview for anyone who desires "an edge" in the volatile market we find ourselves in.

I really enjoyed this tape set because of the process of learning how to create better questions and asking them.

Angelo DeCesare validates feelings real kids have by allowing his main character, Anthony, to be angry, sad, lonesome and happy - whatever the appropriate emotion is at the time.

As a reading specialist, I have read this book with elementary school children. They find Anthony to be a very engaging character. They love when he turns into a monster and goes to school. They easily relate to being teased by other students because they are different.

The book is great for initiating converstions about feelings and appropriate and unacceptable reactions to how one is feeling.

It was a beautiful story, written from the heart, and I couldn't put it down till I had read the last page. Balook is a great book for all ages. It combines fun,romance and the love of one boy for his animal. A touching story, Balook is about a huge, pre-historic rhino who's best friend is a lonely boy named Tor. When Balook wanders off one day, Tor follows him, ending up in one wild adventure after another with his rhino.

I enjoyed Woe is Me from the dedication to the last poem in the book. If you are looking for a book of creative and imagery filled poetry this is the book for you.

This book of poetry evoked a broad range of emotions within me, from anger to gladness. It took me all over the place. I like the choice of word combination the author choose to use. He seems to have a way with words. I would recommend this book to my friends and colleagues. Kudos to the author and keep writing.
