No way would I try the tennoning jig in this book
This book is good in the descriptions about wood selection and wood types. It has a wide variety of woodworking techniques and operations. However, the overall techniques used range from good, to absurd, to dangerous. The problem is, a beginner may not be able to know the difference between a good technique and a dangerous or poor technique. Also, some of the projects are good, and some are poor. The main problem with this book is lack of consistency. The positive is that there is good stuff in it and a wide breadth of subject matter.

A Very Complete Book About Woodworking
As the title says, this is a very complete book about woodworking. In it, they tell you about wood, how to design project, the different tools and how to use them, and finishes. The second part of the book shows 40 projects with step by step instructions on how to put build them. And the color photographs and drawings are beautiful and show a lot of detail. What more can you ask for in a woodworking book?

This is a MUST HAVE book for the Novice
I have purchased or checked out from the Library probably 30 books on woodworking in the last 6 months. This one I'd rate as the Very Best, of the none specialized books on woodworking. You simply must get this book, especially if you are just getting started into woodworking. As far as I am concerned, this book is a bargain.

It is a cool book.
Probably the kids who like the Goosebumps series would like this book better than other kids. I've read better books and its kind of easy for me. But I still like it.

Strange soccer happenings
Very strange things happen to the kids of Bailey Elementary School. If it's not weird enough to have a VAMPIRE for a teacher, then what about having a ZOMBIE for a soccer coach??

In this 15th installment of the Bailey School Kids series, the gang is gearing up for a soccer tournament against their ol' school rivals. Like other sports they play, the Bailey kids just aren't doing well at all. That is, until Coach Graves shows up and puts 'em through the motions!!

Coach Graves has that combination of motivation, organization and sheer power that all fine teams have. Though she drills them through some tough practices, has them exercise until the gang thinks their legs will fall off and the whole team shows up for practice reeking of muscle-relaxant cream, with her as the coach, the Bailey team might have a fighting chance!!

That is, until one day when a mysterious old woman comes to practice, gets into a heated argument with Coach, and suddenly the Coach Graves, who has always been in constant motion, just sits on the bench staring out into space. Good grief! Has Coach been turned into a ZOMBIE?!

I've reviewed a number of the Bailey Kids books, and believe them to be good choices for intermediate readers. They're short, the language is easy, the type is large and easy to read (I'd say about 14-16 point), and the plot is logical and flows. As a teacher, I often use these books to hook in reluctant readers who don't normally read for pleasure, but who also might be too spooked by the Goosebumps series by Stine.

As of this writing, there are some 40 books to the series, each involving some mysterious creature, anything from vampires to aliens to mermaids. It isn't necessary to read the series in order, though some characters make repeat appearances in other books. A lot of books in the series can be holiday-based, like "Cupid Doesn't Flip Hamburgers" or "Santa Claus Doesn't Mop Floors". Most have a gentle blend of silliness and creepiness that is engaging without being terrifying. It's a fun series, and I've found myself reading almost ALL of them, even when I'm not using them to teach with! So, get yourself a few and follow along with the gang's adventures!!

The Bailey School Kids
Hi!I'm introducing you to the book called Zombies don't play Soccer. It is very interesting. Most of the kids on Melody's soccer team think that melody is the best player. Ok all of them do.Liza, Eddie, Melody, and Howie think that their new soccer coach is a zomby. You'll have to read and find out if there soccer coach is a zomby, or not. I really like the book zombies don't play soccer because I like playing soccer a lot.

Definately not a Biography
It is a very entertaining book with wonderful illustrations and an engaging narative, but not what you are looking for if you want to know about Annie Oakley's real life. The story starts out seemingly factual then you get to the part where she's shooting craters in the moon and points off the star without the clear transition to tall tale status. There's a disclaimer at the end of the book trying to explain that some of it is true and some false but it was too little too late for my Brownie Troop, it left them confused entirely. They did love the story, but it belongs in Fairy Tales, not Biography.

Shooting Star is Brilliant!
With Scott Goto's unique artwork & Debbie Dadey's rowdy, tall stories the Great Western Star comes alive again with her wildways, her even wilder exploits & her famously Wild West friends. Be prepared to have your socks knocked up over your knees because this is one LOUD fast read! Good way to talk about the history of guns in our society, what they are good for & how skilled one can get with no bias to gender. For more of my children's book reviews do visit my site.

Liked how Eddie was always trying to be the big shot.
My name is Leigh. I liked that Eddie tried to be always a smart aleck. And how he said that he would prove that Mrs. Waterford wasn't a mermaid. And whenever they got in the lake, Eddie would try to splash her. And I liked when Eddie pulled Liza in the water.

Easy to read!
This was the first Bailey School Kids book that my son and I read together. He is in the 3rd grade and found this pretty easy to read. We both enjoyed it and will be reading more Bailey School Kids books in the future.

Triplet Trouble and the Class Trip
I like this book because it is exciting and it is funny. They go on a class trip and get lost and that is just the beginning of their adventure. There is more to this story and you should read it and find out what else happens. This is a good book for second graders.

Hollow doesn't Hit `em over the Head with History
This gentle little book doesn't hit the reluctant young historian over the head with history lessons, they just come naturally with the flow of the tale. Young Lillie Mae Worth's Daddy went Over There in World War I and never came back. Her Mother, forced to work in a factory during his absence, is killed in an industrial accident, leaving Lillie Mae with a witch of a maternal aunt, (my mind's eye conjures up this woman as Clara's nanny in the Shirley Temple movie *Heidi*) who quickly appropriates what small estate there is and railroads Lillie Mae off to live in rural western Kentucky with paternal Great Aunt Esther and Great Uncle Dallas. Here Lillie Mae and her readers encounter country school, moonshine and revenuers, and learn life lessons that sometimes "good" and "bad" are not what they initially appear.

I found this books content inappropriate for young children.
My daughter brought this book home and the title made me curious, so I read it. The storyline of this book is disjointed, the content is utterly ridiculous and serves only to insult the intelligence of young readers. Under the guise of fiction/mystery literature this book is laden with occult symbolisms aimed directly at the unsuspecting minds of young children . All in all, I find this to be more appropriate reading for 5th grade and up.

Dragons Don't Cook Pizza
The name of this book is Dragons Don't Cook Pizza and the authors are Debbie Dadey and Marcia Jones.

The book was awesome! Even though it's for kids younger kids than I am, I still read it.
The best part in the book is when they all work together to figure out the riddle.
The worst part was when Eddie didn't think that Dragons existed.

This book was cool, funny and exciting.
I hope whoever likes to read picks out this book and enjoys it, because it's worth your while.

Dragon's Don't Cook Pizza
Four third grade kids named Howie,Melody,Eddie, and Liza. They always have a mystery to solve. There are lots of books in this series. They are all good. In this book, the 3rd grade class went on a field trip to a bakery. They think something is very fishy. They come back that night and tryed to figure out the case out. Is the man who cooks the pizza a dragon? I like these books because they are mysteries and you get relly exited about the mystery.
