Another interesting story in this neat series.
It was a great book. Eddie's grandmother has him take piano lessons from a strange man, Lance E. Lott. The place where he takes piano lessons even looks like a castle complete with a round table. Could Mr. Lott really be a knight in shining armor? The Bailey School Kids are going to find out.

I enjoyed this book because it was funny and interesting. This story comes complete with sword fights and jousting matches. Maybe Eddie should have taken flute lessons instead. If you want to find out why you will just have to read the book.

Ryan, age 8

You should read this book if you play the piano!
Knights Don't Teach Piano, by Debbie Dodey and Marcia Thornton Jones is from a series, "The Bailey School Kids" series.
My favorite character is Liza because she is very nice. Eddie thinks he is the best at everything but he is not. There is Melody, who is really bossy, and Howie, who is really good at science. If you read this book, it will be the best!

Extra, Extra... A Terrific Book!
I read Knight's Don't Teach Piano Lessons by Debbie Dadey and Marcia Thornton Jones. Knight's Don't Teach Piano Lessons is a very good book. It's about four kids who start to take piano lessons. Their teacher's name is Lance A. Lot. The four kids names are Meloby, Liza, Howie, and Eddie. I liked it because they always find something to find out, and they always have some spying to do.They are funny books. They are like detectives. I recommend this book to peole who kind of like mysteries, ages 8 to 12. There are 30 (including Knight's Don't Teach Piano.)

GREAT BOOK
It was very entertaining. I always like it when they are going to solve the mystery when the weird adult leaves and they can't finish the mystery.

Elves really do work
The book report I am doing is called Elves Don't Wear Hard

Hats. It is about some kids where they need a new playground

for their school. They really want a new playground with some

swings. They have a building group come to make a new

playground, but they do not know what to build. They ask the

students what they wanted built, and the people who are going to

build it are Elves. The kids want a lot of things to be built

so they have to get going on it, so they tell them to all make a

list if they want to. (...) One day

something very exciting happened! I am not going to tell

what happend at the END so you have to READ it to find out!!!

I really liked this book. It made me want to read more of the

Bailey School Kids books. They are fun to read and have very

exciting endings. I would reccomend reading this book

(...)

Elves Don't Wear Hard Hats
This book is about kids that wanted a new playground. They had to share the swing. One day the construction worker came to build a new playground. One of the workers came in the room during class and asked what the kids wanted in their new playground. Well, this is a very good book and I think you should read it. I feel like reading more Bailey School kids book.

Meet Frank!
Those Bailey School Kids are at it again! This time, they're off on a field trip to a verrrry strange museum! This museum seems to have a mad scientist and a very strange character named Frank! Frank is about 7 feet tall, has quite a few thick scars on him, loves flowers and seems only able to say "unnnnhhhh"... Sound like any horror monsters you know?? Is it possible that the Bailey Kids have found FRANKENSTEIN? Is it possible they've discovered some sort of terrible secret? Will they escape with their lives...??

"Frankenstein Doesn't..." marks the 6th book in this quick-moving series where supernatural creatures and strange characters abound. The third grade's classroom teacher seems to be a vampire. The camp counselor seems to be a werewolf. Santa Claus seemed to be their janitor for a while, and now here's this massively tall guy named Frank in this spooky old museum. What's going to happen next?

All the books in the series are quick-paced and quick-witted. The class clown, Eddie, is also the one character who refuses to believe that their teacher is a vampire (though the evidence is beginning to grow on him by this book!), there are werewolves running amok or aliens have invaded the school (that's in the next book, "Aliens Don't Wear Braces"). Indeed, Eddie functions as the only voice of reason (albeit a very sarcastic voice!). Part of the fun of the series are Eddie's wisecracks but also the way that everything isn't 100% spelled out for the reader. Maybe Frank really IS Frankenstein, maybe he isn't. The evidence points that way, certainly, but who can really tell?

"Frankenstein Doesn't..." is a tad creepier than some of the other books in the series, but not what I would call scary or horrifying. Therefore, it's a good selection for beginning/intermediate readers who are looking for something that will hold their interest but won't scare the daylights out of them like other books in the horror genre. The text reads quickly (as an adult, I can polish off a "...Doesn't..." book in about 20 minutes) and the pencil illustrations augment the story wonderfully. It's really an addictive series! Try it! You'll like it!!

Rachel's Review
"Frankenstein Doesn't Plant Petunias" is a great book.
It is about four chilldren that think this guy named Frank is Frankenstein! I could read it 100 times. My favorite is when a boy named Eddie says all these jokes that make me laugh.
YOU SHOULD GET THE BOOK!

A Very Good Book!
I think this was a really good book and I know that a lot of other kids would like it too! I really liked the part where the kids went into the Hauntley's house and saw eye balls and other neat stuff!

A FUNNY Book!
"The Monsters Next Door" was a funny also kind of scary book in the beginning. This book is about a boy named Ben and a girl named Annie they also have a friend named Jane. Monsters move in to their next door from Transylvania. Their names are the Huntley's. The lady and her husband moves in with their son Kilmer. They have a Inn called Hauntly Manor Inn. Kilmer's dad loves to bury things in the mud. They get to meet them more and start thinking that they are very nice people!

Entertaining but getting old, predictable
Once again the Baily School Kids Melody, Eddie, Howie, and Liza have found that they have a pretty wierd adult in Baily City, and it just turns out to be their ecology project coordinator. Mr. Bunyip is definitely strange. He says he comes from Australia and he came to the United States because people were overcrowding his space. Plus he chases wild turkeys!! Melody knows somethings up again so she does some research and comes up with the conclusion that Mr. Bunyip is a swamp monster. Well, once again that Baily School Kids are out to save Baily City and this time in a ecological way too by cleaning Swamp Dread! However will cleaning be the only way to drive out Mr. Bunyip? Read to find out!!!

These Baily School Kids books are quite entertaining and still give me a few laughs. However these books are definitely getting more predictable and the plot lines are practically the same in all the books with just different monsters. I have been reading these books for 4 years and I still find them to be entertaining at times but I usually only read them if I have a lot of spare time. To sum it up: Still not a bad read for a cold dreary day!!! Especially would be good for little kids cause I think part of the reason I am not that interested in them anymore is because I am much older now!

GREAT BOOKS!
The Bailey City School books are great! You'll love them! Also, be sure to check out the other books and book series by the same authors - Barkley's School For Dogs - Bailey City Monsters - Triplett Trouble. They're great, too!

One of the best books I've read!
This one kept me laughing.

could have been better
This is a good book if you are five years old. Unfortunately, most people who take interest in yo-yos for more than five minutes are not. The history is interesting and the pictures are o.k. But when people open a yo-yo book, they look for one thing, tricks. This book is not big on tricks. Anyone with a little bit of sense can complete these tricks with ease. Two tricks in the book are a bit challenging, but then again, why would you buy a yo-yo book for two tricks? I am a bit surprized because I also own the Klutz magic book and I really found that book enjoyable. Klutz could have done better

the best book in the world
This is the best bok. I learned how to yo yo in 2 days and i am now lerning tricks. 1 of the resons i is so good is because if you are a pro you can still learn things from it. And if you are a bigener you can learn how to yo yo.

Entertaining, informative and funny
The tricks described in this book are listed in a well thought out progression so the newcomer can progress from one trick to the next and learn many of the techniques needed to go on to more advanced stuff.

As well as tricks, the book gives an amusing history of the yo-yo, a fair bit of science and other just plain silly stuff. Really fun to read.

The yo-yo which comes with the book is good - maybe not the best, but fine for the level the book is aimed at. I'll buy this for my nephews and neices when they are a couple of years older.
