This one will stay with you for a long, long time...
One of the most evocative children's books I've seen in years. The art is simply spellbinding---and the ending will touch all but the hardest of hearts. An unusual picture book in that it creates some real narrative and emotional tension along the way before winding up to a wonderful finish. My kids were leaning forward in anticipation.
A must for any Monarch lover.

A fantastic book for everyone
A wonderful book! The highly original story works seamlessly with the astoundingly beautiful paintings to create a very powerful reading experience. It is a magical tale combined with an effective message about the real plight of the Monarchs.
Everyone I show this book to loves it; all are inevitably moved both by the story and the gorgeous illustrations.
The Prince of Butterflies is a very uplifting book that all ages can appreciate, and I think it's destined to be a classic.

Beautiful illustrations, touching story
John Clapp's illustrations are magnificent, and enhance a touching and moving story. The whole package is something to treasure forever. It is one of those books that children will remember fondly, and share with their own families in the future.

Unusual characters who face basic conflicts of their nature
Nancy Springer, Jane Yolen, Coville, and others contribute to a powerful fantasy collection revolving around the theme of young adults who are only half human. From a scarecrow to a fallen angel, these are unusual characters who face basic conflicts of their nature. The very different plots and characters make for an involving collection packed with twists & surprises.

Half Human rocks!1
Each story better than the next. Awesome illustrations. A book for all ages, what a refreshing change from the norm. Every time I read it I feel invigorated. Such positive messages in each and every story. A must read. I lived every moment of Linnea's plight with her, so well written I felt I was watching a movie.
5 stars plus.

Half Human Revitalizes
My soul was touched deeply by the beautiful and creative stories in Half Human. I read it at least once a week and it revitalizes my whole being. What a talented group of authors and the art work is wonderful. The stories are so descriptive and well written that I become "Linnea". Thank you for this work. This is a book for all ages and seasons. Once started it will be finished. You are less than human if you do not give this literary winner a read.

Bruce Coville put together a nice set of tales
I thoroughly enjoyed BRUCE COVILLE'S BOOK OF GHOSTS. It had a wide variety of ghost stories from a myriad of talanted authors. The stories are so different that there is sure to be something for everyone. I would reccomend this book to anyone, even those who don't normally like ghost stories.

Coville does it again!
I thought that this was one of Bruce Coville best short story books yet! I don't want to give any of the plots away, but I thought that it had just the right blend of humor and scare tatics in it to make you want to read it over and over. Also if you like this I recomend Bruce Covilles: Book of Nightmares. Try it you'll like it

Great gift for crafters
Good book for crafters, a little complicated for children. But the patterns and illustrations are beautiful.

Excellent for teachers!
This is a great book for teachers to use in the classroom. I have used it many times with success for all students, even those with special needs. The designs are simple, yet they are intriguing and look gorgeous!

great book!
this is one of my very very favorite books of all time and i have read over thousands for sure. The stories in this book range from funny to dark to moving to breathtakingly beatiful. One thing they all have in common is that they are entertaining and some of them i am sure you will never forget. This is truly a wonderful collection of stories.
from a funny love story about a goblin and a princess and a heartbreakingly bittersweet story of a boy who gains wings and a very hard choice, everthing in this book is original and wonderfully written. I highly reccomend this to anyone.

Read this!
If you've ever read anything by Bruce Coville, and thought it was cool, well by all means, BUY THIS BOOK! I'm serious. Some of the stories have appeared in the anthologies(Like "Biscuts of Glory"), but it's worth it to have this book too, trust me.

Ten stars if it was allowed
By far one of the best films that has come out in recent film history. I don't even know where to begin. From the amazing script that is just one long enjoyable ride of dark humor to the incredible performances of Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman, Olivia Williams et al to even the music which pulls from classic Brit Invansion tunes. Considering that I bought the Criterion Edition, I feel that a review of that edition is in order.

This is why DVDs were invented. It includes the movie, of course, but a great commentary from director Wes Anderson, coscreenwriter Owen Wilson and actor Schwartzman. It also has a great behind the scenes documentary, by Anderson's brother. The 1999 MTV movie awards clips, where the Max Fischer plays reproduce scenes from Truman Show, Armageddon and Out of Sight is brillaintly, and a great addition to this DVD. There are even interviews with Murray and Wes Anderson from the Charlie Rose show! Even after watching the movie this DVD kept me completely engrossed for hours. It even includes a section called color bars...those lovely "this is only a test of the emergency broadcasting system" bars that we all grew up to love.

So if you haven't scene this movie yet, you are missing out on an American classic. And if you have seen it and are looking for the right way of adding it to your movie collection the Criterion Edition is the perfect choice.

Max Fischer Presents...
RUSHMORE is a wonderful film that takes viewers on an offbeat coming-of-age journey. Max Fischer (Jason Schwartzman) is a Sophmore attending Rushmore Prep School. He is involved in just about every extra-curricular activity on campus and now faces expulsion due to his poor grades. Max loves school and dosen't want to leave under any condition. While trying to prevent the unthinkable, he forms a friendship with the local millionaire, Herman Blume (Bill Murray). He also ends up falling in love wth a first grade teacher, Rosemary Cross, (Olivia Williams) and will do anything to win her affection. There have been a lot of coming of age comedies over the years; But none quite like this. From its great script by Director/Co-Writer Wes Anderson and Co-Writer Owen Wilson, the performances of the cast, and its soundtrack., using British Invasion tunes the film is a triumph. RUSHMORE is a fitting companion to the slightly darker ROYAL TENENBAUMS (also from Anderson/Wilson). The critics have heaped a lot of praise on both of these movies and each one deserves every bit of that praise.

There are two different versions of the DVD that are available. A bare bones disc and a Criterion Collection disc with all the extras, I prefer the fully loaded DVD. The commentary track by Anderson, Wilson, and Schwartzman is very lighthearted and informative. The making of featurette is just ok. There are meaty interviews from PBS's Charlie Rose with Anderson and Murray lifted from his program. The Criterion DVD also has the movie spoofs from some of the cast created for the 1999 MTV Movie Awards, actual storyboards and neat audition tapes for the film.

If you like your movies ofbeat, then there is a lot to like about RUSHMORE. Pesonally, I recommend the Criterion version over the standard disc. but either way you decide to go, you can't lose

An Excellent DVD from Criterion
Rushmore makes me happy. I should probably try to come up with a better critical analysis than that, but the truth is, the movie just gives me intense pleasure. The script is phenomenonal; Anderson and Wilson write incredibly funny lines without really writing punch lines. The acting is exceptional-- I can't imagine Max Fischer played by anyone but Jason Schwartzman, and Bill Murray delivers perhaps the most heartfelt performance of his career. And the music is beautiful-- the music supervisor deserves all the accolades he got for putting the soundtrack together.

I expect I'm probably preaching to the converted, though, so let me add that the Criterion DVD is excellent. Including the Max Fischer Players' performances of The Truman Show, Out of Sight, and Armageddon is a great bonus. The commentary from Anderson, Wilson, and Schwartzman is another bonus, and, obviously, the music sounds much better on DVD than video.

If you're looking to buy Rushmore, I think the extra stuff you get is probably worth the extra five bucks-- especially if you're curious about the making of the movie.

A great Rose McGowan Movie...that's it!
The ONLY thing I liked about this movie was the DELIGHTFUL performance from the REAL Scream Queen- Rose McGowan. (Come on, who cares if Jamie LEe Curtis starred in so many movies? Rose is dating Marilyn Manson- now THAT'S scary!) The plot was pretty original and the deaths were interesting yet not surprising. Overall, it is a movie that belongs to the 80's B Horror Movie Crypt...or at least B+/A-

Rose McGowan has great potential as an actress!
Ok, so I really did'nt want to see this movie! I thought it was going to be really horrible but it actually was'nt! Rose McGowan was great as the over physchotic teenager! The story was good! The screenplay lacked alot! Rose McGowan made the movie! I would see it again just for her! She is great!

If it's so good, why is it so bad?
If this DVD is so entertaining why do I and virtually everyone that I have loaned it to hate it? I have purchased over 200 dvd's in the last year, and this is the only one where I can promise that I will never view it again. If this garbage is so wonderful why won't ANY of the used dvd buyers touch it? The first review says it all!

Too short Weak plot
I would like to say (not good)........... but since this is a 1996 production and the first of its kind........it can be said as okay although if more thought have been put into characters build up and story expansion then it should be better.

Its too short and not that funny........ buy if you are a collector of something which is new in the genre......this is the first but if you are not interested in collecting then go for Tender Loving Care or Point of View.

See to learn:Interactive narrative is HARD.
Well, I was there when it was made, and as stupid as it looks, we spent A LOT of time thinking about it. To be totally honest, a bunch of us who were there are still thinking about it. there is little question that we were ahead of the curve....but as we all continue to take part in our media experience...Some of you might want to try entertain the rest of us...I hope so...Watch and, find the flaws.

Tattoo Art Dragons Vol IV - DM
As I had expected from the cover of Dragons IV the book does contain Asain/Eastern Dragon images. The images are simple but give a good cross section of styles. The book has 20 pages with 2 or three images a page. Overall I believe it was worth the purcahse if only to give me a better idea of style options.
