Slightly Better Than the First Book
Now that Anya Rothrock has officially gone mad, the Shevvingtons have found a new victim to take her place: Dolly Jaye, Michael and Benjamin's younger sister, and Christina Romney's best friend on Burning Fog Isle. Since one of Dolly's fears is of heights, Mr. and Mrs. Shevvington insist she overcome it by taking skiing lessons. But Christina knows firsthand they don't want to help Dolly. If anything, they want to destroy her mind like they did to Anya in the previous book, The Fog. And it's up to Christina to protect her friend and disrupt the Shevvingtons' plan.

My opinion of the first book (The Fog) wasn't so great, and neither is my opinion of this book, but at least in The Snow, Christina discovers the identity of the rubber man on the beach, as well as the secret in the cellar. The girls--especially Christina--are constantly being tortured psychologically and pitted against one another, just like in the first book. There seems to be no hope or any apparent possibility of being saved, which I found way too depressing and irritating.

The one good thing I can say about this book is that it's very quick and easy to read. (I finished it in one day.) Cooney's writing is still pretty good, but I can't say that I liked the story at all. So, unless you're already a fan, I'd skip this trilogy: The Fog, The Snow, and The Fire. Caroline B. Cooney can do--and has done--much better than this.

Good Book
This book is like the first book, but it takes place in the winter. Dolly, Christinas friend from the island starts school on the mainland. Christina figures that they got Dolly to live w/ them because Anya is already destroyed, and she (Christina) is to strong. The Shevvingtons treat Dolly better than the rest of them. They buy her new clothes, and stuff. But they force her to do things to, like take dancing lessons, and forbid her to do her fav thing, read(kind of weird coming from an English teacher, and a high school principle, huh?). Then Anya seems to be recovering, so Christina wants her to see her old b/f, Blake while they go skiing one weekend. Christina is pushed off the advanced ski cliff, but no one believes her. When the return, Dolly is missing, but the Shevvingtons dont do anything to help. When the police finally do come, they say they will do everything to find her, but Christina knows that the Shevvingtons are hiding her /in/ the house. So Christina goes and looks in the forbidden cellar. Does she ever find Dolly? Read the book to find out.

Suspenseful and well-written
Snow, the second book in Caroline B. Cooney's Losing Christina trilogy, is just as good as the first, Fog. This time, the Shevvington's target is apparantely Dolly, Christina's best friend from the island who is a year younger than herself. After losing Anya to the Shevvingtons, Christina does all she can to hold on to Dolly. Much to her dismay, very few people believe her evidence about the Shevvingtons. Not her parents, not Dolly's brothers, not Dolly herself. The only ones who believe it are Christina's best friend, Jonah, and a few other of her classmates who have felt the wrath of the Shevvingtons. This is a fantastic sequel, and a high point is the reappearance of Blake, Anya's boyfriend. I would reccomend this book to anyone who has read the first book in the trilogy (a must) and who is looking for a fantastic mystery and all-around good story.

Caroline Cooney Wrote THIS?
Perfume is the story of a plain, quiet girl named Dove who buys a bottle of "evil" perfume under an influence not quite her own; when she does so, her evil twin, Wing, is unleashed.

When it starts out, "The Perfume" can't decide if it's going to be a complex story about a girl with emotional problems, or a horror story about good and bad both fighting to win; the beginning is a bit of a drag.

Beging a die hard fan of Caroline Cooney's, I thought it would be a great addition to my collection and a good scary read, however I was kind of dissapointed in it because unlike with her other horror books (The Stranger, The Mummy etc ) the plot never sucks you in deep enough and seems kind of stupid in the end. Definatly not Cooney's best work.

Bottom line: if you love horror in any way, shape or form, or Caroline Cooney, then buy. Otherwise don't waste your money.

Rather interesting, and sort of spooky.
I think this book started off a little slowly, but after that, the action just blew past me. I thought it was a very good book, and it was very original for the author to incorperate the vanished twin syndrome and Wing coming back.

Awesome!
This book was really interesting. I loved Dove's name and "multiple personality. It kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering how she would deal with her twin sister's spirit living in her head.

gives a good description of what life without mom is like
i think this was a farely good book it showed alot about how a family survives without the mother. it also shows equal rights for women going off to the war and such. it was a good book.

Operation: Homefront Book Review
Operatuion: Homefront was an amazing story about your mother leaving to fight the Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein. Laura, Nicholas, Langan, and their father, Mr. Herrick must face the reality that there mother is fighting for Iraq and she is doing it for America and the broken-up family must stick together everyday to keep up hope and figure out what to eat for dinner every day, and not watch TV all day long. Now again, I though this story was outstanding and people 12 and up should read this book as soon as possible!!!

Operation: Great Reading
I'm not much of a reader, but when I picked this book up to read for an English class. I couldn't put it down. In the book, Operation: Homefront, Caroline B. Cooney points out some very good issues about if your parents or one of them is told to go to war. No matter what, the family should always work together and stay on tasks. That's why I give this book five stars.

He Loves me..Or does he?
Sixteen year old Alison isn't a professional pianist yet-but she's pretty darn close to it. But even though having a talent for music is fun, there's one more thing Alison would love to have: a guy who loves her.

In this romantic story, Alison plays piano/keyboard with a band for weddings, parties and the like. While performing at an engagemeant party, Alison meets Ted, a seventeen year old reporter for the local paper. Alison and Ted hit it off pretty well and exchange numbers. But everytime she calls him, he's out and vice versa. And sometimes when they do talk, it seems more like Ted is interviewing Alison as a subject, rather than trying to get to know her better as a girl. Does he even care about her? And more importantly: Can they stay devoted to their passions and still fall in love?

One of Caroline B. Cooney's early works-a good, fun romantic read.

Wonderful 1980's Book!
I love this book, it's so old, that I had to order it from another library in a nother city, but it sure was worth the trouble! This is a fun and romantic novel!

She finds out that she doesn't want to be around him ALL the time. She also learns that their is a cost for having a boyfriend. In all of this is another little girl. A fine ending
I loved this series as a girl, starting with Saturday Night, then New Year's Eve and Last Dance. This is the last one in theseries, and while it's not as good as the others, it's a fine ending, sending the girls -- Anne, Kip, Molly, Emily and Beth Rose -- off totheir lives after high school. Some of it is disappointing -- unlikethe others, it doesn't continue some of the characters from the lastbook (what happened to Gwynnie?) and there's some boring drama (whocares which new boy Beth Rose ends up with? And a cheap play fordrama with Kip almost drowning) but if you liked the other three, youhave to read this one. A word of advice for people looking for thebooks in this series ...

Not bad....
I have to admit that I did like the first two books in the trilogy better than I liked this one. Just like all the other readers, I wanted to know more about Annie and Strat, though I did like Devonny. I don't see any point in summarizing the story, since this has already been done. I do have to say that I would have liked the book much more if it Ms. Cooney had elaborated more. I really wanted to know what happened to Todd, what the wedding went like(I don't want to spoil it for those of you who haven't read the book, but for those of you who have, I'm talking about the wedding that was sort of being discussed at the very end of the story). Also, who doesn't want to know more about Flossie and Gianni, the most romantic couple in the book?

Though I did enjoy the story, I really do hope that Ms. Cooney will add another book or two onto the current trilogy.

I want Annie & Strat backk !
Ok this book was alright.... I thought the point of this book was Devonny & Tod, and their romance. But then, it spent a lot of the time, focusing back on Devonny's time. This bored me greatly!!!
I also didn't know what to make of Lord Windon, Devonny's fiance. In the book it was stressed that he was evil, but then towards the end it was showing a gentler side of him, so I was kind of stunned. I do admit, I wish Annie and Strat were more in this though!
Also, I thought Devonny and Tod would have more of a romance. It was kind of like Tod fell in love with her, and Devonny fell in love with him. But there wasn't any words or emotions to back their statements up!! And when Devonny left, it seemed like Tod showed no emotion. I wish it was better, and I can't wait to get my romance-lovin paws on the final one!!!!!!

It's A Time Trap!
Prisoner Of Time is the third book in a trilogy that includesBoth Sides of Time and Out of Time. However, in this book, it followsthe lives of Tod Lockwood and Devonny Stratton, instead of the characters in the first book, Annie Lockwood and Strat. When Tod is up at Stratton Point refueling on its natural spring water, he is unwillingly taken by time. Once Tod realizes what has happened, he is in the year 1899. Time has dragged him here to rescue the wealthy Stratton girl. I really liked this book a lot but I was slightly disappointed in the fact that it wasn't about Annie and Strat, because I'm anxious to see what happened to them. I also hope that Caroline B. Cooney comes out with an addition to this trilogy soon! This book is great if you like Science Fiction/ Time Traveling stories with a great plotline!

Vampires Promise
I didn't like this book at all, but the author tricked me a few times. I thought the book would scare me but it didn't so I gave it two star rating. My favorite part was the beginning when stuff started happening.

Original
I loved this book it really made you look at the diffrent charicters and how they really thought about the other charicters. They each think it shouldn`t be them. It really gives you a look at everyones dark side, and your dark side as well. Although when the others are bringing out there selfish sides, some are finding the good that they always had, but never showed.

I love Caroline's Descriptions!
I just wanted to say Caroline B. Cooney has done it again. I love how she describes everything very clearly. I loved all three of the books. I hope this book is republished again, for those who didn't get a chance to read it.

Action-filled mystery
Laura Williams and the rest of her American family have just moved to London and are learning to adjust to a brand new life. Laura and her brother, Billy, attend L.I.A. Academy, an international school for children. They are learning the customs of different people around the world and making friends from many different countries. All of Laura's peers know about politics and hatred. All of them, except Laura. Laura isn't like her friends; she doesn't hate anyone. She has a loving heart and caring soul, but all people aren't like that. When her brother is killed by a package-bomb, she finds out about hatred. She finds out about evil. Suddenly, Laura is obsessed about politics. Everyone she knows is a suspect. All her friends become enemies, and she wants to know who it was that killed Billy, and who is going to be their next victim. Caroline B. Cooney's book is a combination of gripping emotion, action, and suspense. This mysterious book is a great story for teens and adults. It's a story of love and hatred, of life and death.

Another great book from Caroline B. Cooney!
This is a powerful, sad, and sometimes funny book, all in one. Laura Williams and her family have moved to London where everything is different. You can't buy the same candy as in the U.S., you take public transportation to school, and once you get there, you're with children from all over the world. Some of these children are there because their parents supported the wrong political leader and would be killed if they didn't leave their country. One regular morning, Laura's little brother, Billy, takes the subway to school, as usual. A man hands him a package and tells him, "Your friend dropped this." Billy takes the package and thanks the kind stranger. Then, all of a sudden, he remembers then signs reading Do Not Leave Luggage Unattended. He remembers the bomb drills at school. Then there is an explosion from the package and Billy is dead.
When Laura finds out what happens to Billy, she vows to find his killer. She is suspicious of everyone around her -- even her friends at school. She will not stop until the murderer is punished.
Caroline B. Cooney's writing style of letting you inside the characters' funny and also sad thoughts really completes this book. This is a must-read for anyone.

A bombing of mystery that never ends.
I read The Terrorist by the best-selling author, Caroline B. Cooney, who may best be known for her book, The Face on the Milk Carton . Mrs. Cooney writes many heart gripping stories . The story is told by Laura Williams who has just moved from Massachusetts in the United States of America to London, England. She and her family are just beginning to adjust to the customs of their new home. Did I mention that Laura has a brother named Billy? Although they are very close, they have their differences . For example, Billy is interested in collecting fancy toilet paper. He also likes to collect American treats and show them off at his culturally mixed school. The big and important difference between the siblings is the way they get to the London International Academy each day. Laura catches the bus with her friends and Billy takes the Underground, (Subway) with two of his friends . One day, while Billy steps from the train, his friends run ahead. Someone then hands him a package saying that his friends had dropped it. Billy quickly realizing that it is a bomb, wraps himself around the package and it explodes . Killed instantly, Billy saved many lives. At home Laura learns that her brother has been killed by a bomb. She 3flips2 out and thinks that everyone is a suspect in the killing, especially her friends . In actuality these friends are worried about her . Many accusations are made and none are proven . To find out who did it you1ll have to read The Terrorist . This two-hundred page book is not only very interesting, but it is also different from other books because the most exciting incident happens in the first twenty pages . The crisis and exciting parts are usually in the middle of the book. The reader wonders if each of the suspects is guilty and how he/she could be tied into the plot. For example, a friend of Laura is accused, and because he is from Israel, the reader thinks that he might be the killer. What is also interesting was that he wasn1t a legal citizen of England, but it turns out that he isn1t guilty. I would suggest this book for fifth graders to college. The Terrorist is too difficult for third graders because they wouldn1t get the complicated plot. For adults I do not recommend it because it is short and the words are easy. To tell the truth I wouldn1t be surprised if the plot were to happen in reality because recently there have been bomb scares and racial prejudice. Hopefully, that is the author1s message - be careful in the ever changing world. Another message is that true friends comfort and help till the very end, and most importantly, your siblings are very important to you, your family, and should be treated like your best friend. The author also wanted to teach people that the British actually have different words for things. She threw in a couple words like, 3Ta, luv2 meaning thank you .

Ok, not Cooney's Best
First of all, I'd like to say, the plot is pretty lame. This book is a little suspenceful at times but it lacks alot. I am not saying it's bad, I'm just saying it wasn't that interesting in my opinion.

Emlyn is a straight A student that is yearning to do something bad...( which makes me wonder.) When her teacher plans a trip to a museum, the class makes a plan to steal a mummy from the museum. Emlyn is up to it, and wants to prove to herself that she can do it. But will she? Will the "good girl" side of her kick in? I recomend this book only to Cooney fans only because they might like her style of writing.

Caroline B. Cooney is a great author, no doubt, but I found this one of her weaker books. If you are looking for great books by this author, I recomend "Wanted!" "Flight #116 is Down!" "The Terrorist" and "Hush Little Baby.." These are all great books by this outstanding author.

To Steal or Not to Steal
If you love suspense and suprises, this book is for you. The title of this book is Mummy. The author is Caroline B. Cooney. The main character is Emlyn. This book is about Emlyn, who is dared to pull off a prank on Mischeif Night. Finally, it's her chance to do what she wants. Then, everything falls apart. I think this book should be recommended for a book to read over the summer for grades 6,7,and 8. I really got into this book. I was wondering what she would do each chapter and focusing on what the character is going through. I give this book 4 stars because every chapter is full of life and suspense. My favorite part was when Emlyn was trying to steal the mummy of Amarel-Re. She succesively sneaks past cameras, security guards, and her parents to make the steal possible. My favorite character was Emlyn because she has been wanting to do something bad for a long time and finally considers it. She is smart and is having second thoughts. She may be sly, but she is smart.

Exciting, Incredible
Caroline B. Cooney's Mummy is a story about a sly girl who can get away with any security when it comes to stealing. One fateful night, Emlyn went into the museum to steal a beautiful Egyptian mummy. On that fateful night, everything becomes a failure. Caroline B. Cooney's Mummy is a vivid book, filled with excitement and adventure, it keeps you reading the book until you turn to the last page of Mummy.
