J'utilise ce livre dans ma classe de français!
I use this book in my French class. It's the book mon prof uses to test us. I think the listening exercises provided in here are wonderful. The other exercises are good as well. The vocabulary provided in the back is also very good. It's an excellent prep tool for anyone in AP French language. Bon chance!

Must have`
The book is out of date somewhat but it is still a must-have if you are going to Tuscon. The author is very funny and very astute. I can depend on her recommendations and it has a good range of prices. You trip will be much better.

a picture saves a thousand words
The story of Colette in her "own" words is really a montage of images. The attempt to make it appear as if the photographs were compiled and edited by her own hands are convincing. There are many biographies on Colette which describe how she felt and what she said. But the images of which this book is devoted to describe quite different sentiments. I thought it peculiar that she is never seen smiling in any photograph after she marries. For a woman that extolled the virtues of positive and pragmatic thinking that seems peculiar. Possibly she was wounded early in life and decided that life was about pain so one might as well accept it and not complain.

A castle-like engagement of the senses
I really wish that this book was availible here. I found it in a used book store last year. I read about it in a women's rights manual during high school. Reading the article I searched frantically for Break of Day, as I hope others have done or will. Break of Day works delicately on all your senses. Awakens your nose to the smells of Colette's own gardening. She has you listen to her interesting and sometimes not so captivating friends. Your eyes and hands caress a world of animals, friends, ex-husbands, and nature. Break of Day has you kneeling in the dirt and breathing the air of the coast. This book is about being alive and knowing beauty.

A Wonderful Piece of Confession and Reflection
Colette Inez is probably one of the best poets I've ever read. She doesn't dwell too much on fancy analogies or metaphors to get her feelings and messages across to her readers. This book is also incredibly brave because she talks about her parents' illicit affair, her mother's abandonment, and her search for identity. Oh, each poem is so beautifully written. I must add that she is fantastic in person and a must-see. I just hope that she prints something new soon. You just can't get enough of her.

Highly original reading of Colette's "fictionalization"
Highly original reading of Colette's "fictionalization" of autobiographical fact, as an effect of "mourning-work." Especially moving is the account of Colette as "ghost-writer" for her dead father, a failed writer. Highest recommendation for students of autobiography and psychoanalysis

An excellent psychoanalytic treatment of autobiography
This is an excellent psychoanalytic treatment of autobiography as an effect of the "mourning-work", with a highly original reading of Colette's own "fictionalization" of the events of her life. Highly recommended for students of psychoanalysis and women's studies.

A Christmas to Remember!
Colette Peters is a true artist. Her cakes, which I've seen in person, are remarkable. Her books are very thorough and concise. I am no artist, but I have made several of her cakes and they all turned out great! She is able to explain the cake-making process so that even I can understand how to do it. I have all her books and love them all!
