Special Tests for Orthopedic Examination
I bought this book in preparation for the NATA certification exam. This book is concise and has fairly good pictures for the orthopedic tests, however it lacks detail in explanation of tests. For example, on the Trendelenburg test it states that a positive finding indicates a weakness of the gluteus medius on the supported side. Even though this is accurate, it does not indicate that since the glut medius is innervated by the superior gluteal nerve from the L5 nerve root, a lesion to either of these structures will also cause a positive finding. In addition, and most noteably, there are serious errors in the cranial nerve assessment section which would indicate that the text had not been properly reviewed before publication. I would strongly caution anyone purchasing this book to ignore this chapter in the text and seek other references for neurologic assessment.

How to perform Ortho test reference
This is a great book for othro tests. All the tests come with
large pictures and exaxt directions on what to do.
It also tells what the + and - signs are when doing a test
It is a wonderful reference and reminder of quick ortho tests for out-patient rehab places. Easy to understand for both PTA's and PT's.

Special tests for Orthopedic Examination
This book covered all of the essential tests that are needed for evaluating a patient. It allows the reader to walk through each exam and understand what exactly needs to be tested. It also gives examples of what the examiner should be looking for. If preparing for the NATABOC, this book would definetly be a good study guide!

Not enough pictures
I have not cooked anything from this book yet, so I cannot comment on the recipes. However, I was disappointed that there are very few photographs or pictures and the recipe font size is very small.

Delicious & Reliable
I received this as a gift and have really enjoyed it. I've tried a dozen or so recipes and they all been delicious. It's true that it does not have the number of photos McNair devotees are used to, but I would say that every recipe is a winner- perhaps not true of some of McNair's single subject books. The directions are very clearly written and easy to follow. Many easy enough for weekday, after work dinners; others require more prep either in cooking or shopping (although good guidance is provided on more hard-to-find ingredients). The best part is the a great range of recipes- a one-stop source for inspiration.

Compelling
This is an extremely well-written account of a very unusual crime -- the killing of a banker by a farmer he foreclosed upon. It does a fabulous job of showing the monetary links between farming and banking, and of delving into the personalities involved. The story line is maybe a bit thin -- two guys killed by a father-and-son who blame the bankers for their troubles -- and the author really makes the most of it.

For anyone who likes true-life, non-fiction stories, this is a good one.

An excellent book for starters!!! Great job....Gallagher
This is an excellent book for those who want to delve into finance. It is equivalent to 2nd year material. Finance, most often offered in 3rd year here in Canada, requires knowledge of statistics (i.e. stats, econometrics...etc Intermediate level; 2nd year) when reviewing certain budgeting options; you won't need this for the book. Don't be dismaid, your not missing key information by using this 2nd year stuff (you get all of the math too at an easier to comprehend level).
The disk included with mine helps to build your financial knowledge through a website connection and with practice, but this is not mandatory and is designed for the hardcore finance junkies like myself.
It is only a 4-star because I want more challenging material, but being a 2nd year course I have to wait until 3rd year.

It Happened in Colorado
This is a great book of 34 short stories combined together to show the events that shaped Colorado into what it is today. It is very well written with very easy and understandable reading. I recommend it for adults and yet it is not to difficult for children to understand.

An informative book that gives basic knowledge on Napoleon
A very informative book, Napoleon: The Final Verdict, describes all aspects of Napoleon's military career. Although it lacked extensive details on individual battles, it gave basic knowledge necesary to understand the Napoleonic Wars. The book is divided into two sections. The First section gives the knowledge obtained on his life. The second section analyzes the information given in the first to help you determine Napoleon's true quality. I especially like the pages of quotes which the author has included in the back of the book.

An Impressive Breakthrough
In order to become more well-rounded in his studies of physics, Chadwick went to Germany before the outbreak of the first world war and was locked up as an enemy of the Germans when the war came. The total breakdown in the existing order of things might help explain why the British were so keen on finding the subatomic particle structure of matter. The previous discovery of the mass and charge of an electron and experiments with radium, which naturally decays, had indicated that atoms might be capable of being broken into smaller parts. The discovery of the neutron in 1932 paved the way for experiments in chain reactions in which neutrons, which were the products of splitting atoms, were used to split other atoms. The powers which have had uses for this knowledge have been so quick to put it to use that it is still considered a great secret from anyone that isn't a member in good standing of their club. This book may be read as a description of the life of a man who was a member of the club before anyone knew that there was a club. About the earliest sign in the book that some kind of club was being formed was when Chadwick obtained some German radioactive toothpaste, for people who need to have teeth that glow in the dark, and tried to figure out what was in it during World War One.
