I LOVED this book...I'm a Becky Freeman fan anyway so when someone loaned me this book I knew at least HER stories would be good...but I "cackled" with delight at the other "hens" stories as well. A merry heart does good like a medicine...if you need a merry heart...take a dose of this book...it's all it's "cracked up" to be ...and more. And I especially enjoyed all the plays on words on the "chicken theme".

The book tells of many aspects of women's lives, including parenting. It is nice to hear that the things I go through and am challenged by, are what most women go through. The book really encourages us to find humor in our situations. It encourages us to continue on the path that God has chosen for us. Very well written.

I can't imagine why this book wouldn't touch someone's heart! It's full of the true-life experiences of five women in various stages of their lives and gives a very candid view of their sorrows, their joys, and even some embarrassing -- but humorous -- moments. I'm going to get copies for several of my friends. This book is about real women dealing with real situations in life. Those of us juggling family, work, career, homelife, church, community, and a million other challenges will definitely relate to this candid and inspiring book!

I hate not to give it a five; but the last chapter brought up a second heavily controversial topic, and traditionalists would use that to discredit the book and the author even though the rest of the book is doctrinally solid. More about that shortly.

The rest of the book gave a lot of solid defense of core Christian doctrines as it defended women. Groothuis pays a lot of attention to historical and cultural details that we 21st century readers wouldn't have known. She got deep into topics without being too difficult to read. In some cases, she presents multiple theories about difficult Bible passages and lets the readers draw their own conclusions. I loved reading the book; and if I hadn't had to do things like work or sleep, I would have been finished with it much sooner because I didn't want to put it down. Oh yeah, her demolition of hierarchist logic by using the core doctrines of Scripture wasn't bad, either.

The big weakness: I loved seeing how Groothuis was able to defend equality in the Creation account and link the beginning of gender hierarchy to the Fall. Unfortunately, in the last chapter she gave props to progressive creationism. Many traditionalists, especially the ones I deal with, are also six-day creationists who see progressive creationism as just another way to undermine the authority of Scripture. All of her arguments up to that last chapter were perfect to use with six-day creationists because they fit exactly with a literal creation framework and did not diminish it in any way. The section mentioning progressive creation could have been left out without interrupting the flow of the book, and would have made the book useful for a much wider audience. The rest of the book is great, but that one section undermines its effectiveness for many of the people who need it most.

Excellent book on a controversial topic among Christians. Regardless of how you feel about Christianity and gender roles it's a good book which explains what those controversial verses really mean.

The only complaint I have is that the writing is a bit complex at times. It takes the author a while to get to the point in some chapters but the examples are worth it. A must read for all Christians, especially pastors and the conservative segment of the church. Be prepared though, it will challenge your opinions.

I thought this book was extremely exhaustive in the way it explained the subject matter. It is a very good reference for someone who wants to be able to have a complete study of gender equality. I, not being a Bible scholor, had to re-read paragraphs and sentences and statements from time to time because this book makes a person think. While I would not call this book easy to read, it is understandable and very good. Just take it in small bites if you are like me!

This book gives a biblically based step-by-step guide on how to prepare to rid your home of evil and how to rid your home of evil. The author gives examples of spiritually cleansing homes from his life and the lives of others. He even shows how evil can sometimes be hidden and shows how to uncover it.

This is the best "how to" book on ridding your home, office, living space, car, etc. of demonic influences. You may not have thought that "pretty little vase Aunt May brought back from Russia" was demonic but it very well could be. You are taught through balanced biblical teaching that you need to "spiritually house clean" where you are living. This book travels with us when we go abroad and is a mainstay of our home library. If you do not get this book you may be in for trouble that you could and should have avoided. BUY IT NOW!!!!!

This book is a wonderful resource for anyone trying to understand more about spiritual warfare and its application to things we buy, places we live, and the actions we or our bloodline have done. Buying a ceramic cat in a voodoo shop will surely bring spiritual darkness on the home. I have prayed in various homes that were oppressed by spirit(s) of darkness and found this oppression tied to articles people owned as well as things that have happened on the land even before the home was built.

Rebecca Wagner Sytsema and Chuck D. Pierce have written a great Scripturally based book that is a must have reference for those folks who want to keep their homes free of demonic oppression.

In 2000 I volunteered to create the VBS crafts for our mexican mission trip at our church, Huntersville ARP in NC. We had a very limited budget (less than $500.00) to include crafts for over 100 children ranging in age from 3-12 year olds throughout 4 evenings. 2 of the crafts came from this wonderful book. All projects are clearly outlined and easy to do. Materials are laid out for each craft and shopping is a breeze. The topics range over the entire year and offer a good variety of subjects and scriptures. This Christian Paper Plate craft book will quickly become anyones best friend that has 0 experience and a tiny budget to work with.

This wonderful resource for homeschoolers provides annotated lists of games, projects, kits, toys, etc. for every subject area. A fabulous resource for homeschoolers not interested in using pre-packaged curricula but rather who want to follow their own or their childrens' interests. Rupp hasn't left anything out!

RACHEL is a well written book that not only continues the Ellie's People series, but also stands well on its own. With language easy to understand by my 3rd grade daughter, it draws the reader into the simpler lifestyle of the Plain People, and explains some of the differences that set them apart without getting overly technical on the theological doctrines involved. This is a definitely "Christian" book, that doesn't hide the faith of the characters behind politically correct labels. Rachel is a likeable character, and her interest in her grandparent's lives, culture and religion is logically developed. Rachel is a "good girl" without being saccharine, and is written as facing the turning points in her life in a realistic as well as idealistic fashion. While there are events in the story that are sometimes sad, the author does not dwell morbidly on the unhappy details, preferring to show the positive lessons to be learned from them. As an adult conversant with the Amish culture, I enjoyed reading Rachel's story as well.

Historians will record the age we are living as another cardinal contribution to Church growth. The excitement of this prophetic age is not releasing audiences but scores of participants who are moving in the prophetic gifting. Prophesying will soon become a way of life.

The Truth about Rebecca Brown is exactly the opposite of what Cornerstone Magazine will tell you ;-) Rebecca Brown is a proven Christian and servant of God. Her book is a hard hitting expose of the heresies we see in today's churches, as well as Satan's tactics in deceiving Christians using his human slaves, or satanists. The Bible says Satan is an "Angel of Light" and that his servants appear as "ministers of righteousness" This is exactly the truth Dr. Brown stands on. In an age where we witness the "Great Falling Away" and where people have been given the strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, Rebecca Brown stands as one of the few representatives of the True Light (Jesus) in this world. The reader should not be dissuaded by the outright and blatant lies against Brown that have been circulated in the so called "Christian community," as such attacks against the credibility of Rebecca Brown are not new as the Bible attests.

Only serious christians need read. I have read many books related to spiritual warfare, prayer ,satan and his army, etc. None compare to the spiritual awareness that Rebecca,s books have opened my eyes to. Truly she is a modern day saint and a christian soldier on the front lines fighting the good fight and loving the unloveable all for the cause of Jesus. If God has led you to read her books do hedge yourself in with prayer and ask for divine wisdom and protection as Satan hates for Gods children to become equipped and put on the armor treading into the trenches of his territory to save souls. This book along with the other's sum it up. If read and truly led they will make you a vessel of honor prepared for war to set the captives free and break the curses and bondage that Satan has strategically decieved people in. Praise God and thank him for Rebecca, Elaine and their ministry.

After I read this entire book, I strongly agree with Dr. Rebecca Brown again because I still feel that she is the true servant of God!

MUST READ THIS BOOK FOR YOUR CLEANSINGS (1 John 1:9). Please do not let your unconfessed sins to build in your life quickly. Do not be deceived! If you did not cleanse your life, Satan and his demons will have legal ground in your life by afflciting or indwelling! Understand it?! Good. .....then don't be at all surprised that when you invoke Jesus against a committed Satanist, he doesn't just fill you full of lead. Unlike vampires, Satanists tend to laugh at crucifixes.

This rather amusing tome is intended to convince the reader that Satan is all-around and trying to get you to stray from the good and righteous path of Christianity. He has several ways of doing this, assuming you have indulged in the various fashionable moral worries that Christians tend to fret over. Things such as yoga or role-playing games. These represent a "door" to Satan apparently, a means whereby he can wrest control of your psyche. This is a rather anaemic view of Satan compared to an author like Grant R Jeffrey who at least credits Satan with the ability and the ambition to attempt to forge a dictatorship here on earth. Rebecca Brown by contrast, takes the Hollywood view of Satan as a being with only the power, ambition and wherewithal to pester little girls. This gives the book an amusing overtone, assuming you can get over your amazement that (a) a grown-up can actually believe this and (b) that same grown-up is an MD.

As someone who has indulged in various of the said activities including having actually read the Satanic Bible then obviously come Judgement Day I'm really for the high jump. I would deny that I am actually possessed by Satan myself, but as the author states "of course, I would deny this". Therefore I am disallowed right of reply since I am non compus mentis.........

If Dr. Brown could rename this book, it would be called "Exposing the Enemy." She exposed the inside of the dark satanic movement, spirit world, the truth about Yoga and how the Surya Namaskar, also called the "Sun Salutation" (which are a series of positions used for warm up exercise which is actually positions of sun god worship!!!). She informed readers about how eastern religious and new age teachings are creeping up in our society. Many Christian are not aware of the spiritual damaging effects of the teachings and practices of eastern religions because of the lack of knowledge of the historical roots. I live in New Orleans, she could write a whole book on Mardi Gras! She discuses the history behind the rosary, something to many seeming very innocent and goes inside the Catholic Church was some eye opening accounts.

The book starts off talking about how her friend Elaine who was trapped in a deep satanic cult and later gave her life to Jesus. She uncovers the dark world of satanism that many people don't believe exist. Through this book I learned how many satanist have infiltrated parts of the governmental system, foster homes, molest, rape and murder innocent children as a part of their black services.

Dr. Brown exposed the enemy and opened my awareness a great deal. I had never hear of "astral projections" and didn't know that these things were mentioned in the Bible. If you haven't, then all the more reason to read the book. Let me not forget to mention that she gives a host of Biblical references. She doesn't try to be all things to all Christians. This is surely her ministry.

A word of caution. I don't believe this book is written for the babes in Christ or the unsaved. Before you read, make sure you are prayed up and ready for possible distractions by the enemy. If you are not open to dig deeper in the things of the Lord, this is not the book for you. If your marriage, children or you have been under attack and you just can't seem to put your fingers on it, this is your book. Not only is Dr. Brown exposing the enemy but she explains in detail how we can fight back and win.

In this sequel, Dr Rebecca Brown shows how the Lord continues to protect her and Elaine after her (Elaine's) final deliverance. She talks about issues that are important to every Christian, such as prayer, hearing God, covenanting with God and having a holy fear of God. Dr Brown also shows, in detail, the various doorways that many people, including Christians, unwittingly open to Satan. She shows conclusively that the "Jesus" worshipped in Roman Catholicism is not the Jesus of the Bible and reveals the origin of several anti-scriptural practices in Catholicism. Dr brown shows the link between New Age and Satanism. Also discussed is the seldom-mentioned topic of the aftercare of Christians after they are delivered from demons. From many of the true case studies mentioned in the book, Dr Brown shows that God deals with each deliverance differently because HE IS GOD and loves His children as individuals. From the case studies, we see that Satan is a liar and is not Almighty like God. Nevertheless, we are not to underestimate him but we are to trust in God's loving care. Read this book and be blessed

I was looking for a book that would provide holiday plays that the Sunday school youth could perform during the Christmas season. This book contains mostly songs relating to a large variety of holidays throughout the year, not just Christmas. There were a couple of ideas presented that could be used for a childrens play, but they were very limited. The songs were OK, but are basically holiday type lyrics sung to familiar childrens songs.
