I've been a homeschooling mom for over 6 years now. After using Concerned Communication's A Reason For Writing since the beginning, we stumble on A Reason For Spelling this year. I was tired of "boring" spelling curriculumns, so figured we'd ...give this a try. Well, we ALL love it (we're using levels A, C and E for our 1st, 3rd and 5th graders). There is a lot of activities packed into these pages, and you can pretty much pick and choose how much of it you want to do. There are reproducibles in the teachers manuals of additional activities. I'm thinking of using it again next year with all the activities, and I should be able to turn it into our full Language Arts program. One word of warning, DON'T try to use this without the teachers manual, you will be LOST! I find the teacher's manual invaluable!

Read about a taffy pull, a box social, and about working out as an Amish Maut [a hired girl]. And then there's the question of who to date. Her good friend Susan's brother James is interested in her. But, they are Mennonite, while Rebecca is Amish, and the church youths are only allowed to date within the church. What should Rebecca do? Read about the trials and temptations of being an Amish teenager in this exciting book.

I fell in love with Rebecca when I was 10 yrs. She was so cheerful, inspiring, naive, and reminded me a lot of Anne of Green Gables. This series takes the book that is originally by Kate Wiggin and expands it. Eric Wiggin follows and gives more detail about her as she continues to grow. Rebecca is charming and by her patient love wins over her crusty Aunt Miranda. At 11 Rebecca goes to live with her mother's sisters: Aunt Miranda and Aunt Jane. Everyone says living with Aunt Miranda will be the "making" of Rebecca. My family just listened to this on tape and I was again reminded of how delightful it is.

What a great way to end a wonderful series. For those of you who loved Anne of Green Gables you will adore Rebecca Rowena Randall! The way she takes care of her mom and Aunt Jane is so sweet. Of course, Emma Jane is there also. Life wouldn't be the same without her. Mr. Aladdin is taking on a whole new role! Never leave him out of the picture. Even if you haven't read the first 2 in this series and have only read the book by Kate Wiggin this book is still enjoyable. I read this when I was 12 and I still love it. Unfortunately, classics like these are no longer written or read these days.

Rebecca's Return will strike a chord with all middle school students. Have you every wanted to be in the popular crowd? No matter the cost? You will see through Rebecca and her experiences, that nothing is as wonderful as REAL friends.

this book has all the right ways to help your daily devotional time. I lead a bible study at my high school and this book helps apply the teachings in the Bible to real life in a creative way. Definitely a must have.

This is a book that should be resting on our bookshelves within easy reach for the times when the words "Yeah, but..." escape our lips! Full of heart, honesty, and inspiration, I highly recommend it.
