Fabulous Pictorial overview
I used this book to do some research about early mormon families. It acurately and pictorially follows the early history from beginning to present.

Every other page is a map or chart with a brief overview on the other page.

If you want the facts and nice illustrations of them this is the book for you. Only 150 pages.

My Favorite New York Guide Book
This is my favorite New York Guidebook. I lived in New York City for 5 years, and although I was in my thirties, whenever my friends would come to visit me in New York, I would pull out my Kid's Guide to New York to remind me of the most fun things to do in the city. Too bad it is 12 years old. Much of the material is still valuable, and it wouldn't take much to update it for 2002. I'd like to give a copy to a 9 year old who will be visiting the city for the first time next month.

Great for travel with Kids
This book is exactly the kind of book that will help your child realize the educational value of their vacation. We used it for three kids-- ages 12, 10 and 7. They liked it because it helped them remember special moments of the trip, and in the case of the 12 year old, "It was fill in the blanks!"

It was a lot easier getting them to complete this book rather than writing in a journal. There were also tips and hints that I had not found in any of the other books I used for planning the trip. I highly recommend it!

invaluable for anyone renovating an old garden
I purchased this book right after I bought an old house with a seriously overgrown garden. This book told me how to save the neglected fruit trees and rose bushes, and how to save the languishing perennial beds. Plus, it's a good guide to general garden maintenance. I'd love to see a west coast version.

excellent
a pocket book that has almost all you need to know. it's concise, giving you just the information you need. Updated from the latest reviews published in journals. If you are not satisfied with the information given in the book, or you think it's not enough, you can still read A TEXTBOOK OF INFECTIOUS DISEASES. remember this book (the same as all pocket books) is best to be used during rounds, or to have a quick reference of a certain subject. You won't be dissapointed.

Liu is the sweetest sincerest person whom I personnally know
I had the honor of knowing Dr. Liu personally. He is unassuming, quick, down to earth among all the best quality a person can have. I cannot locate Dr. Liu since he came back to the US from his Hong Kong teaching, about two years ago. Wonder if anyone knows the whereabouts of Dr. Liu and let me know. The best word book I have seen!
I have gotten numerous first word books for my two toddlers, and this one by far is the best. The pictures are fabulous, the words are words that are genuinely applicable, not wierd things that kids never use. The book also has a section with colors, the alphabet, shapes, and numbers. It is well organized and the pages aren't crammed so full of pictures and words that the kids can't focus on anything. There are several pictures/words on each page, but not too many. The pages are thicker than normal pages so they don't rip as easily, and it is spiral bound, so they turn easier. My little boy and little girl both LOVE this book, and I like it a lot better than other first word books that I have gotten for them. It's a high quality book, definitely worth getting!

A delightful read!
This book is the first and last choice of my 15-month-old daughter every night before she goes to bed. She delights in the pictures and simple text, and asks for it to be read over and over again. The age description says 4 to 8 years, but even the youngest readers can enjoy the colorful pictures and the story's adorable heroine.

A Good Bed Time Book
This lift the flap book is a good one for falling asleep for kids from about age 1 to 3. We started reading this book to my little brother about six months ago and it helps him get to sleep. It's a book about a kitten named Nicky and there are too many sounds around her. She asks her mother to make them keep quiet. And you lift the flaps to find out what is making the sounds. Finally it all quiets down and Nicky gets to sleep.
