A Pussycat's Christmas
Published in Library Binding by HarperCollins Children's Books (1994)

This to Pussycat was Christmas Eve.
A Pussycat's Christmas is a pleasant story about Christmas Eve from a pet cat's perspective. First the kitten goes outside, rolls in the cool white snow, and frolics between the falling flakes. When the wind begins to blow, she goes back into the warm house.
She plays with the ornaments on the Christmas tree and pulls bows off of perfectly wrapped gifts. She plays around the house, with the Christmas scents of tangerines, apples, and holly all around her. This is a pussycat's Christmas.
I believed that this book is nice. The illustrations are realistic and amazing, but the story is not all that great. It is constructed well in some areas with descriptions and rhyme. However, I couldn't seem to fully understand the plot. I think that this story is best only for very young children who can just sit and enjoy the pictures.

Excellent....even for an adult.
I was an adult in my mid 40's when I bought this book for myself. I love cats and the artwork in this book is outstanding. I take it out every Christmas and it is fun to look throught and to put out as a Christmas decoration.

My Most Favorite Christmas Story Ever!
Captivating pictures and prose paint images of a silvery Christmas Eve seen from a pussycats' perspective. I read this book over and over at Christmas...with or without children to share it with me. But a Delight to Share!

My daughter loves this book!
We received this book as a birthday gift. Although she is just 14 months old, my daughter adores this book -- especially the section on three-year-olds (The important thing about being three is ME!). She participates heartily. I highly recommend this book.

Celebration of those Important Birthday Milestones!
A counting book which celebrates the acquisitions of each progressive age, from infant to five. Using a litany midway through each stanza and a slant limerick metric and rhyme, pieces of the poem build upon one another, as the age of the children (of many races) depicted, progresses.

An adorable picture book that talks about growing up
This book celebrates what is special about being a child. The same familiar pattern on every page, allows children to anticipate what will come next. It is a wonderful book to share with young children.

a childhood favorite
This was one of my favorite books growing up -- although back then it was published as a BIG Golden Book, not a "Little" one... I've ordered one for my son to enjoy, because all these many years later, my mother still won't let me have possession of the copy I grew up with. The illustrations on the original were by Leonard Weisgard, and were stunning -- I only hope that the new version does the original justice

Cute Little Kitty, Cute Little Story
This is one of my all time favorite books. I loved it when I was a little girl. I read it even today, when I need a little lift. It's such a cute story. My copy of the book isn't exactly like this one, it's an older version, and falling apart from repeated use. This is one of the greatest children's stories of all times, and your kids are sure to love it.

Pussy Willow by Margaret Wise Brown
This is one of the dearest children's books I have ever read to my children! It has such a poetic quality and such a sweet story. I have read it so many times to my children that our copy is falling apart. The one that I have is illustrated by Leonard Weisgard, and the pictures are darling.

A collection of mixed quality
A collection of 25 poems for younger children in a relatively short book (pages are not numbered). The poems are of varying lengths and mixed quality. The illustrations are large and well drawn, but lack the bright colors which would have made them more interesting. Overall, it will provide some good selections for reading to children.

From one generation to the next
I am a 33 year old mom and my mom (now Oma) gave me this book when I was just 3 and now I read the same weathered copy to my 2 1/2 year old son. I find the Earth centered themes and poetic text very moving and my son loves the poems about the varying animals. While it is true that the art is not bright and "Disney-fied" this book and it's poems have a timeless quality and should be enjoyed exactly as it is. We just bought the reissued copy to give as gift, we love it so much.

Teachers' Delight
A truely wonderful collection of children's poetry covering all seasons. I used many selections with my third graders. Very helpful in the classroom. Poetry that uses lots of imagery.

Bunny's Noisy Book

What was that?
THAT was the sound of my daughter throwing the book in the trash.

As the editorial reads, the text feels more like a draft than a finished book. One of the great aspects of Goodnight Moon was that it had a rhythm that made it enjoyable to listen and read; this book does not settle into a rhythm, although it tries to, at at the end. The good points are what the bunny does, not what it hears. My daughter liked to pretend to eat the red clover with the bunny.

A premise of the book is that a page would give a new sound, and the next page would identify it. This is what initially held my daughter's interest, but without the rhythm or art, this quickly became uninteresting.

As for the illustrations, everything BUT the little bunny is drawn well. The little bunny's head seems distorted in some pictures and ALWAYS has a cloying O-face. I like the bees and red clover.

Parents will get tired of reading this book pretty quickly, and it'll take just a little bit longer for children to tire of it.

You Must Get This!!
I bought this book for my son for this Easter (kind of early I know...but was just thinking ahead :) ) I always review the books I give my children first and I fell in love with this one from the start. The illustrations are so sweet and inviting.
I have ordered 4 more books to send to other children that I know. Dont pass this book by! It is an absolute delight!

An Adorable Book
This book is absolutely adorable. The text and illustrations are a perfect match. I especially enjoy the illustrations done with such brilliant colors and extra little details, such as the little grasshopper hidden within the drawings. It is fun to try to find them. I've only counted 12, but I think there must be thirteen, because in the dedication she mentions that there is a character shown thirteen times in the drawings.

Two Little Trains

I think I like this book more than my son does right now.
This is a wonderful book for any little train lover. However, the subtle correlations between the "bedroom" train and the "country" train are lost on my 3 year old right now. I love how Brown mirrors the toy train set-up in the household with the real train travelling through the countryside on the opposite page. The artwork is lovely, and the story is clear and simple. It's a nice, calming book, perfect for the end of the day.

A must for train lovers!
My son is a train fanatic and enjoys this book very much. The comparisons between the real train and the toy train stimulate a lot of conversation and get him thinking about similarities and differences.

TOP TRAIN BOOK
MY GRANDSON AGE 7 LOVES THIS BOOK HE HAS NOT PUT IT DOWN SINCE HE
RECEIVED IT AND WHAT ELSE IS NICE HE IS ABLE TO READ THE BOOOK TO
ME INSTEAD OF ME READING TO HIM

My three year old loves it and reads it again & again.......
A wonderful rhyming and repeating text that encourages preschoolers to join in making sounds, and counting.

Infectious!
This book provides a fantastic way to engage a child in reading out loud. The rhymes stick with kids---and don't be suprised if they stick with you as well! "Four Fur Feet, Four Fur Feet!" I bought a copy for my niece and nephews, and now I want my own!
