This photographic atlas is simple to read, yet detailed enough to provide a good geographic overview of the entire timeline in the Bible. Text is well-written, and maps are clear and comprehensive. It is great for children, but also provides a two-page historical summary and map for each event that is a perfect overview for adults and teachers as well. This would be a valuable reference resource for any church library

This commentary on the Apocalypse of John is amazing. Swete wields a knowledge of the Koine Greek in a manner rarely seen in modern academia. He does take an Amillinial approach, but biblical scholars from all hermeneutical backgrounds will find this book an invaluable primary resource in their research of this perplexing chapter in the Bible.

The Bible speaks clearly that as the timeline progresses & the time of The Lord's return nears, the world will move farther away from God, attenuating everything pertaining to Godliness. Few Bible teachers, Theologians or Seminaries remain today that deal with the core of what is GOD. One must back up to a time not polluted by commercialism to get to the uncompromising truth of the Bible. I've graduated from Bible college and Seminary. I've read the Bible for 24 years. I have never read anything that amazes and even thrills me as much as the insights of Matthew Henry!

An excellent yet concise series of commentaries. The author excels at clearly showing Christ in the passages but does not draw conclusions that are not clearly shown in the bible text.

This is a thick book, both physically in its size, and in the material it contains. It lists every Greek word in the Septuagint (canonical and apocryphal), followed by the Hebrew words corresponding to the Greek ones, and then every book and verse the word appears in, and the context of each verse! Appendix One has all the Greek proper names. Appendix two gives a complete concordance of the Greek Ecclesiasticus when compared to the Hebrew fragments. Appendix three gives a concordance of the Hexapleric fragments that scholars possess. Appendix four is a newer part (from 1998), and lists Hebrew and Aramaic words and their LXX equivalent. As can be seen, this is one large book (1860 pages). This edition also contains a good introduction, which was added in 1998. The original edition came out in the late 1800s/early 1900s.

The only drawback would be that the English translation of each Greek word is not given. So in other words, to fully appreciate this you would need to know Greek, or else have a good Lexicon handy. Since most folks using this would probably be scholars, or know Greek, this shouldn't be a problem. Overall, a fine and massive work!

This comprehensive one of a kind dictionary covers the span of six centuries, and penetrates into the marrow of the priciple influences of Christianity; whether they be pope or caesar, christian or pagan, orthodox or heretic this impressive volume handles nearly every detail necessary to impart an image of the individual and the indelible impact they made upon the pervasive expanse of Christian history. The facts are straight-foward, and bias is placed only when the information is in need of discretion, not distortion...highly recommended.

This study Bible has 3-4 excellently worded questions at the begining of each page and 3-4 short, insightful comments at the end of each page and a wide margin for you to write notes as you prayerfully reflect on each page of the Bible

To properly understand the Bible in terms of exposition and interpretation, you must understand Matthew, the Book of the King. This commentary is the finest exposition of Matthew available, and with it, you can put together the pieces of Biblical prophecy and exposition.
