I Really Love this book!
I don't have children, but I found this in a children's asile in my local bookstore and I had to buy it! This is the book I have on my backyard picnic table right now and I read thru it daily and love it! It's NUMBER 1 on my list of books to read right now with summer here. The photos are wonderful; the small editorials are written so that anyone can understand them, and as an adult I don't see the "child -like" reading here, but rather a book that everyone can enjoy and learn from and all of Time Life Books are finely manufactured. For a book I'd rate them as "Excellent Quality" and suggest this along with the other's from this series would make a wonderful gift for children and adults alike. You'll learn alot about gardening, how to attract butterflies or hummingbirds to your backyard; wild flowering, A-Z, way too much to mention.

A beautiful lay-out makes this book a pleasure to read.
This book is beautifully designed and well organized. Full color photography enhances each page. It includes basic information on gardening with native plants, planning a garden, attracting birds, butterflies, and other wildlife to your yard. Photographs and desriptions of plants and trees, organized by geographic location, are accompanied by maps, field notes, tips, and drawings of animals prefered by each. Lots of references are included in the back. It may be geared more towards the layperson than the expert, but this book really opened my eyes to the possibilities of gardening. Gardening is not just picking pretty flowers anymore! Natural Gardening a joy to browse through and to read.

Colourful and helpful
This Advanced Level Physics book is one of the best I have seen. The book is divided into 7 themes (Mechanics, Materials, Fields, Waves, Electricity, Inside the Atom and Physics in Medicine). The physical concepts as well as the formulas involved are explained in plain text as well as on clearly labelled diagrams.
I did the IB using this book and I found it highly relevant to the course, as it explained the syllabus and the options in great detail, and very comprehensively.
Moreover, there is a variety of practice questions from previous examinations at the back of each chapter, which vary in difficulty.
All in all I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to obtain a top grade in a Physics course equivalent to A-level Physics.

An excellent stydy guide for A level students
This text book is ideal for all Physics A level students. It will help weaker students develop a sound understanding of principles as well as stretch the more accademic students. There are plenty of clearly explained worked examples from previous A level papers and a number a practice questions. This book is a must for anyone serious about Advanced level Physics.

Bear's Birthday
Fans of Bear in the Big Blue House will love Bear's Birthday. Color your way through this book as Bear and his friends celebrate Bear's birthday. I gave copies of this book as party favors at my son's second birthday party. What a hit! The children loved adding color to the illustrations and completing the activity pages. This book is perfect for your little one!

Hive and Go Seek
Everyone has a little bug problem or two during the summer. Ants in the kitchen, wasps in the picnic, they are all part of the grand scheme of things. Ancient creatures trying to get on in a world full of Raid-bearing humans. It only figures, though, that if Buffy were going to have an infestation problem they would be larger than life and twice as nasty. Welcome to the summer of Buffy's fourth season.

Buffy has already had one confrontation with these bad news bugs during the term. She and Riley barely managed to stop the infestation and they thought they had solved the problem. But, that was then, and this is now. When the ghost of a vagrant killed by a vampire puts Riley into a coma, Buffy is back on her own, and worried to distraction. While she desperately tries to hunt down the cause of the ghosts anger the bugs show up - right in the middle of Giles date with a beautiful librarian. Giles loses and Rebecca the cataloger disappears.

Now both Buffy and Giles are at their wits end. Fortunately, the rest of the gang is there to pitch in. Even Spike tries to do his part. Tara and Willow find out that the insects are Urukhai, cheerfully bent on the conquest of the earth. Even as the magical duo start to work on supernatural insecticide, it is obvious that the team is in for a tough struggle. To or three really bad vampires are one thing, but thousands of superbugs the size of Volkswagens is an entirely different challenge.

This is the perfect summer graphic comic. Lots of fiend bashing, suspense, and, if you count Giles, even some romance. Fassbender and Pascoe once again turn out a potboiler, and Richards and Pimentel get it down beautifully on glossy paper. Now you can worry about things that go 'chitter' in the night.

A wonderful and recommended rhyming book for young readers.
Written by Al Pittman, Down By Jim Long's Stage is a justifiably classic picturebook cherished for 25 years, now reprinted in a special collector's edition. The rhymes about various different fish are pleasant, lyrical, and make for excellent reading to young people before bedtime. The charming color illustrations of the various add a special flair, so distinctive that they earned the Canadian Library Association's Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon Award for Best Canadian Illustration in 1977. A wonderful rhyming book for young readers, and enhanced with new illustrations by Pam Hall, Down By Jim Long's Stage will continue to be treasured for many more years to come.

My Prescription - Dr. History!
I first heard of Dr. History when I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area. During my morning commute, I often listened to KNBR's morning show, hosted by Frank Dill and Mike Cleary. A frequent feature was a brief talk about some little-known anecdote from California's past. This was presented by Jim Rawls, who was dubbed "Dr. History" by Frank & Mike. The stories were always short, but interesting.
Jim Rawls has placed that format into book form, very successfully.
The stories are still short -- good for a quick bedtime story to a child or for that brief reading time in the quietest room in your house.
Following each story, Rawls has a section called "Something More", where he encourages you to go somewhere to experience history for yourself. (Most of the locations are in the Bay Area.)
I highly recommend this book, especially for parents who are hoping to get their kids interested in history.

Fore! Uh... that means duck!
Great book for young golfers, new golfers, new and young golfers, or anybody else who likes reading golf books. Corbett and Aoki lead the reader on a fun path around the world of golf. The reader learns golf history, golf etiquette (which is not too surprising considering co-author Jim Corbett doubles as Mr. Golf Etiquette at www.mrgolf.com), golf terminology, lots of helpful golf tips, and finally everything is brought together in a short, entertaining golf story at the end of the book. I'm an adult myself, but I like golf books and this one was no disappointment. I originally picked up the Golfbook for Kids because I'm a fan of Mr. Golf Etiquette and all his zany humor- but Corbett and Aoki have proven they are more than just golfing around this time- they are actually darn good writers and the result is an enjoyable, positive, easy-to-read golf book.
