Great Book!!!!
This book is by far one of the best books I have read, and I have read lots. The love that Tristan and Ivy shared is so powerful and moving that you can't help but love it. The way their life together is cut short also makes it even more suspenseful. Elizabeth Chandler did an excellent job on this book. I couldn't put it down, literally. In one day I read about 500 pages and I am not joking. I cried like I have never cried before in a book. That is how moving this story was. Everyone that reads this book is going to love it. That's a gaurantee!!! Happy Reading!

One of the best books I've read
I loved Kissed By Angel trilogy sooo much. I've read a bunch of books and nothing is as good as this book. The love between Ivy and Tristan is incredible. It was romantic, and suspenseful at which is one thing you need in a great book. Every time I read it, I cry. You've gotta buy this book or you'll miss out!

An Awesome Book
Before I begin the review there is only one thing I can say- this was truely the best book I have ever read. This book is about a girl named Ivy who is awfully saddened when her boyfriend, Tristan, dies in a car accident. She feels she will never love again. Before Tristan's death she turned to her angels (angel statues) for everything, whenever something went wrong she was praying. With Tristan died Ivy's belief in angels. One problem with that- Tristan is now an angel, and he can not comunicate with Ivy if she no longer believes. No comunication means no warnings when something bad is about to happen...Tristan must think quick. For you romance fans there are some very touching parts. If you don't like romance- don't leave yet. There are some awesome and scary action scenes, too. I encourage you to read the whole book, even if it seems boring at one part. It will get better, and the ending definately makes up for it. Don't look ahead! It will ruin the ending. I think you should know that it took me a week to finish this book, but the end gripped me so much I was up till 2:30 to finish it! Take my advice- READ THIS BOOK!

A Captivating Blend of Mysticism, Romance, and Mystery
This is an absolute page-turner for the eager young-adult reader, deftly written in a graceful, uncomplicated style sure to attract teenagers. Berry accomplishes so much; she incorporates New Age folklore and fact into a slowly unravelling plot, saturated with drama and feeling, leaving the reader satisfied on all levels.

The China Garden moves slowly and seductively in telling the story of Clare, a seventeen-year old brainy beauty with dreams of going on to university. Her future seems bright until plans go askew, when her mother announces that she is moving to Stoke Raven (an enchanting, hidden English village) to be a sickly man's caretaker. Clare, feeling an intrinsic urge to tag along (one of many pyschic feelings she will have throughout the novel), joins her widowed mother for the summer, and possibly for the rest of her life. It is the beginning of a splendid, mysterious journey into the unknown for Clare and her soon-to-be-lover, the dark and handsome Mark.

Take this paperback and a blanket under a tree, crack the spine, and prepare for an exciting book that beats anything on your Summer Reading List.

The Most Captivating Book!
The China Garden casts a spell on anyone who picks it up to read and will not let go until you are finished. Once you get few the first few chapters, it is almost impossible to put down. Liz Berry magically unfolds Clare's story in the most amazing way. I was so shocked every time another piece of this mysterious puzzle would fall into place. This story has the perfect mix of romance, mystery, fantasy, history, and reality that anyone, no matter what genre they usually read, will adore this book. I usually don't like mystery or fantasy, but this book had just the right mix of everything that I loved it! This book is similar to the Harry Potter books in the way that it incorporates fantasy into real life. The China Garden has a more realistic swing to it instead of Harry Potter which is more fantasy based. Clare and Mark's love is so amazing that every girl would long to have Mark for her own. And this true love story is not too mushy to turn you away, but just enough to pull you in and not let you go. Her quest to uncover her family history, sends Clare on a journey that sends her to talk to the earl himself. As more and more pieces fall into place, I kept rereading the earlier chapters to realize the full effect of Berry's foreshadowing. Over all, this book is the most amazing book that I have ever read.

Great Young Adult mystery!
Clare Meredith and her mother move to a historical estate named Ravensmere, for the summer. Her mother will work as a private nurse for the Ravensmere's owner, Mr. Aylward. As Clare explores the town, Stoke Raven Village, she finds that everyone knows more than she sees. She soon meets Mark, the classic bad boy biker who enchants our heroine. Clare is determined to find out Ravensmere's true meaning and intention and what happened with her mother who reveals her tragic past linked with Ravensmere. She takes midnight walks to the abandoned China Garden and must figure out a way to unravel the mysteries of Ravensmere.

Liz Berry has amazing imagery in this book, the garden and the whole region of Ravensmere is beautifully depicated. She described a good 'Picture postcard England'. The mystery puzzle was always amusing to guess. The suspense was packed for the next piece of the puzzle. I loved trying to find the true meaning of the Bension, the true purpose of Ravensmere. The foreshadowing is laughable when you finish the book, making you wonder why you did not see it. Mark and Clare have a modern day romance. Mark's bad boy affect and his characterization makes almost any teenage girl lust for him. The simple incorporation of every and modern day fantasy is a wonderful touch to the alluring mystery. The pieces are woven brilliantly and this is what a Young Adult mystery should be.

A great Young Adult mystery, suspense, romance and fantasy novel. It captures you.

Hopelessly out of print.
Unfortunately I did not read The Silver Crown in elementary school when I should have, but years later when I first had a chance to lay my hands on a copy--I had been interested in the book for some time because of the very unique character of the author. Needless to say, because of this belated introduction, I was not immersed in the book so deeply as many of the other persons here (hence my 4/5 star review). On the other hand, I am extremely sympathetic toward the plight of Robert's books (all 4 are extraordinary in some way, and I imagine it is miraculous that half of them remain in print). When I set up a biographical page on Robert in 1996 I began to get e-mails asking me where one could acquire copies of the silver crown. Of course, there is no real answer to this. I think McMillian had it in print extremely briefly in the late 80's/early 90's, but this version had an alternate ending I have heard described by one reader as lame and apparently significantly weakened the book. To the extremely dedicated, I suggest finding out who the last publisher was and sending them e-mail as to the possibility of getting the book back in print--I believe there are other publishing houses that would be willing to do it if McMillian(?) is not. Lastly, I keep a list of folks looking for out of print O'Brien books (I do turn up extra copies of the Silver Crown now and then), if interested, e-mail me.

Great reading for the next generation!
I read the Silver Crown in 4th grade, and never forgot it. I've been searching for years, and nobody ever heard of it! I though I was losing my mind! Unfortunately, I didn't keep my old books from when I was a kid, and I'm trying to find my old favorites to give to my daughter. It's a shame this book is out of print. For a book to have such an impact on young people, but in a good way, should always be available for future generations to enjoy and learn from it.

The Silver Crown is a terrific book!
I broke my leg when I was in the fourth grade and was unable to participate in p.e. for 4 months. I spent my p.e. time at the school library. The wonderful school librarian reccomended The Silver Crown to me and told me that it was one of the best books that she had ever read. I couldn't have agreed with her more! This book transported me to another world and I was devastated to find out that it was no longer in print. I now teach fifth grade and I am constantly telling my class what a magical book this was. Surely some publisher will read this and re-print this masterpiece. I would LOVE to get my hands on a copy.

Facing fate(s) in the Marshes of Morva
This is one of the best of Alexander's Prydain series--definitely an improvement over _The Book of Three_, which was pretty good itself. Once again, Taran has to make tough choices between seeking fame as a hero or just trying to get the job done. His quest for the Black Cauldron, which can be used to reanimate the bodies of slain warriors to create an army of invulnerable zombies and thus must be destroyed if the power of Arawn Death-Lord (i.e., Sauron) is to be broken, takes him and his companions to the Marshes of Morva for a rendezvous with Alexander's offbeat version of the three Fates, one of whom, Orgoch, has some disturbing culinary tastes. As so often happens in Alexander, Taran can win the Cauldron only by giving up his most precious possession. Will he make the sacrifice? And what will he choose? Read this exciting, moving, and thought-provoking adventure to find out.

A totally terrific book! Lloyd Alexander has done it again!
I saw this book in a book sale our class was having and I bought in on the spot! I'd already read The High King and I had been searching for all of the other Chronicles of Prydain. Right now, I'm searching for the movie that Disney made out of this book.

This story all starts when it becomes evident to Prince Gwydion that The Black Cauldron-- the tool which Arawn, the Lord of Death, uses to create deathless warriors which will forever be his slaves-- must be destroyed. Gwydion leads the quest to Annuvin, Arawn's domain, in hope of finding and destroying the Black Cauldron. But it is a surprise in store for Taran, Eilonwy, Gwydion, and everyone else, including the Death Lord hinself, when they get there and find out that the cauldron has disappeared!

A terrific fantasy adventure for all ages
I discovered Lloyd Alexander quite by accident while browsing through a shelf of books. From the moment I picked this book up I could not put it down. Taran is a wonderful character whose high hopes for fame and glory any reader can understand to some extent. I love Princess Eilonwy and how she was every bit as independent as any man. All of Mr. Alexander's stories that I have read have strong female characters, but Eilonwy is my favorite. Gurgi can always make me laugh and I love the way he talks ("crunchings and munchings") The story of the Black Cauldron is my favorite of all the Chronicles of Prydain.

Blue Castle

Perfect :: Classic L.M. Montgomery at Her Best
Years ago, I read L.M. Montgomery's "Anne of Green Gables" and loved it. I read it again and still loved it. I watched the movies and loved those as well. So when I got myself a copy of "The Blue Castle" a few months ago, I was eager to start, but didn't get around to it until last week. When I did, though, I was not disappointed. This tops the Anne books for me.
Valancy Stirling is proclaimed an old maid by her family members, who pick at her mistakes and require her to act dutiful and proper at all times, even harping on some raspberry jam she "stole" from her aunt and uncle's when she was just a kid. On her 29th birthday, Valancy ("affectionately" called Doss by her clan) is about ready to give up herself; she sinks into depression and tosses and turns all night. But then she makes a decision that, as mentioned many times in the novel, will change her life completely, and it does so in a way that is entirely unexpected and surprisingly refreshing. I thought I knew what the ending would be like, but I kept reading anyway because of the pages that are drenched with Valancy's dry humor. Yet when twist after twist came at the end, I found that the ending I had guessed did not do the real ending justice at all. To give away more would ruin it - word of warning to the reader, do NOT read ahead!
Back to the topic of her decision: Valancy decides to go see Dr. Trent about pains that she's been having in her heart. For her, this was quite rebellious because he was not her clan's "approved" family doctor. His diagnosis that she will live at most for another year causes her to throw convention, caution, and especially fear to the wind. She shocks her relatives with her newfound daring in not only speech but in actions as well, when she decides to move in and become housekeeper to Roaring Abel. Soon she will meet the man who is instrumental to her new take on life, perhaps more than she may initially know.
In addition to the captivating plot, clearly-defined characters, and humor that prevails after Valancy decides "to hell with the Stirlings!", L.M. Montgomery's beautiful, vivid language fills every single page of the novel. I never saw nature described so beautifully as in this book. It begins with flavor, carries on splendidly, and then ends with a series of satisfying punches. Very highly recommended.

Valancy's Blue Castle
You know those books you read at least once a year to cheer yourself up or to remind yourself of how great the author or the story is? This is one of them. At least once a year I pick up this book and giggle over the pomposity of her annoying family, the wonderfully funny dinner party and her uncle's awful riddles.

Valancy is 29 years old and 'undesired by a man', cajoled and cowed by her dominating mother and warty aunt, she finds solace in John Foster's 'nature' books. After discovering she has only a year to live she throws caution to the wind, and goes to nurse her consumptive schoolmate. Her parents promptly think her mad and continue to think so when she is seen about town with the 'jailbird' Barney Snaith.

Valancy's journey through the Mistawis has wonderful touches of humour: the dinner party and the mesmerising finger of the minister always stand out for me. So do the characters: Barney's secretive yet charming manner, Olive is the kind of person that you really hated at High School, and Valancy's aunts and uncles are a joy.

A book for adults or older teenagers rather than Montgomery's usual audience, this has the more mature touches of "A Tangled Web (Aunt Becky Began It)" or her short story collections.

L.M.M.'s greatest book!
The Blue Castle is L.M.M.'s greatest book! I started reading it and I just couldn't put it down. It's about an old maid named Valancy who has never had a chance for romance. She is controlled by her family and can find no escape. When she recieves a letter from Dr.Trent saying she has a year or less to live, she decides to speak her mind and please herself. Valancy goes to help an old friend who lives with her father(who is nice even if he's drunk all the time). The girl is dying and Valancy comforts and helps her. And while she is there, Valancy meets Barney Snaith, and discovers the love and romance she never knew. I won't say any more about that because it would ruin the plot if you haven't read it. All the time her family feels disgraced and thinks she has gone crazy, which makes the book very interesting and funny. Then when Valancy recieves some shocking news, her world falls apart, and she decides to return to her previous life with her family. To find out if true love really does conquer all,and if Valancy returns to her Blue Castle, read this book and discover a whole new world.

The Ultimate
I've read almost every single Christopher Pike book ever written and THE MIDNIGHT CLUB tops my list as my favorite ever (along with THE LAST VAMPIRE series and REMEMBER ME). The Midnight club shows you the lives of five young people dying in a hospice. In the hour of darkness (midnight), they had formed a club and they tell stories of death, life, spirtuality, love, etc, etc. I admit, it is different from Pike's other books, but I wasn't disappointed one bit. It was a work of beauiftul art and it touched me deep in my heart. Once you read it, you'll be touched too. And you'll see that Christopher Pike will always be the best.

An Excellent book for readers 10+ who like different stories
This book starts out with 5 characters(Anya, Illonka, Spence, Trevor, and ______?). They live in a hospice, because they all have fatal diseases. They had formed this club callled The Midnight Club, and all five of them are members. Every night, their meetings are started approximately at 12:00, and they all tell stories to one another until dawn. One night, they all made a pact that if one of them did pass on to the next life, that they would somehow give the others a signal. Anyway, after one of them finds out that their disease is no longer fatal, she leaves, and then shortly after that, one of them dies. To find out what happens to who, you should read this book, because it is very interesting once you get into it. I think Christopher Pike did an awesome job on this book, and I give it a 10 out of 10.

The Midnight Club
I must agree with the review posted by the reader from Iowa City, this is definently a book for all ages. It touches many senses, mostly love. Although it may sound depressing or morbid to read about teens in a hospice waiting to die, you find as you read, it is neither. You find yourself loving each character more and more with every turn of the page, and knowing they will live eternally in your mind and heart after the book is over. Their strength and bravery is touching and commendable, and after reading this novel, you will see what is really important in life is love and making the most of each day. The dramatic portrayal of each character is amazing. The stories told by the midnight club are also very memorable, with that notable Pike twist, and horror. Over all, this book is wonderful, and touching, it will leave you with a sense of warmth, and love, and a life lesson.

Transall Saga Review
There's no place like home. Thirteen year-old Mark finds this out once he enters a new world called Transall, where everything is a shade of red. While camping in the Arizona desert, a blue light transports Mark to Transall, a place that looks like a different Earth changed by nuclear war, complete with deformed humans and animals. That's when Mark's struggle to survive and find his way back to present-day Earth begins. It would be very hard finding your own food, water, shelter, and protecting yourself from harmful animals such as buffalo creatures and violent tribes, but Mark does this throughout his journey.
Mark starts out as a regular teenager on a camping trip who turns into a strong survivor by using his knowledge and skills. He lives three years in Transall before finding the blue light again. I often asked myself what I would do in his situation in order to live. At the end, Mark becomes a doctor finding a cure for Ebola. I want to have a career in medicine by helping animals so I could identify with Mark in that way.
This book showed me what it's like to be alone, afraid and having to make it by yourself, but it also showed me how to have courage and never give up. Survival and believing in yourself are themes in The Transall Saga.
I would recommend this book to young people who like science fiction and adventure stories.

The Transall Saga by: Gary Paulsen
Now I don't read much, in fact I almost hate reading! But I saw this book and a decided to read it because I have to read a book for school. I started to read and it started out with action and that made me read more. Each page I read, I wanted to read more and more. It had a lot of action and the story had several exciting twists and turns. It starts out like this. A boy convinced his parents to let him on a hiking trip alone in an old military missile range in the dessert. He rarely goes on trips and he mostly reads hiking magazines. Mark, the boy, starts to sleep after a long days hiking when a fireball falls right next to him and flickers out. He goes to investigate and sees this strange blue light. He thought it was some old military experiment. He goes to touch it. Suddenly, a rattle snake snaps and he falls into the light... He awakens and searches his hand for bite marks from the snake...Nothing... He looks at his surroundings and finds himself to be in a field. He walks a bit and finds himself sinking in quicksand! He manages to get himself out and lies down. Suddenly, he feels himself getting pinched by the red bug creatures! He shook them off and took off his clothes to see if they're all of. Ant then a buffalo creature comes by he climbs up a tree but the buffalo creature took one of his boots and ripped his shirt to shreads. He climbs down, puts onhis remaining clothes and moves into a jungle. He meats a creature that looks like a cross between a teddy bear and a monkey. At night he hears the noises of the jungle and a loud howl. He gets used to the jungle. One time when he was out hunting he saw a puddle of something on the ground...Blood... He heres shreaks outside and tries to find them. He sees a wolf creature, a.k.a. the howling thing clawing at someone in a tree. Mark shoots an arrow in the back of the animal. It turned around and attacked... And that's just the beginning. Read it for yourself. You'll love it, I did.

The Transall Saga
The Transall Saga by Gary Paulson is a great book that anyone should read. This book is full of thrilling adventure and mind compeling events. This book is about a "city boy" named Mark that convinces his parents to let him go camping by himself in the desert. While camping he discovers a strange blue light. He fell through it and found himself in a strange world with many alterations. There are different animals and plants. Colors of things are different too. some how he has to survive in this world, as he is learning he is also growing in many ways. Read this book to find out how he survives in this wilderness. This is an awesome book in my point of view.

A great book, I couldn't really put it down...
I've read all the Buffy books, and from knowledge, know that Christopher Golden and Nancy Holder are the best Buffy writers. This book (i am only half way through it) is riveting!! So far I luv it!! The only thing I don't like is the Buffy-Angel thing. They can't be together, yada yada, I won't spoil it for you.

It's my favorite book in the series besides Blooded. I can't wait for the next Buffy book...something Chaos...

Anyway, you've GOT to read it--it's exciting and hard to stop reading

Evil at the Renaissance Faire? Only in Sunnydale...5 Stars!
My second book I've read from my favorite hit t.v show and again, I am impressed! The writing is great and the characters are so lifelike and true to form. What I like about the books are the fact that we finally get to delve into the collective minds of the complicated characters that are Sunnydale's 'Scooby Gang'. A vampire slayer, a watcher, a witch, a werewolf, a vampire, a wisecracker human and a rich girl who keeps getting mixed up with the gang, even if she pretends she can't stand them. Like the show, the book was beyond entertaining and well worth the money.
This novel, 324 pages, could easily have been a great episode. It was a very different departure from what we've seen in the show. A weird group of traveling renaissance faire people that arrives in Sunnydale, CA, (a.k.a, the Hellmouth) who are not only weird, but have something to do with a sinister group of horsebacked, hellhound dark faerie roaming the woods around Sunnydale looking for souls.
The Scooby Gang think a faire would be uncool, but find themselves drawn to the faire anyway and experience a feeling of dread and doom. Jousting contests, human chest matches, knights and ladies and a court jester that all seem a little too...real.
Caught up in a whirl of confusion, the gang experience the dark faerie for themselves and find out the faire is the least of their problems. The Erl King has brought the Wild Hunt to the Hellmouth and the gang must stop them before all the lost souls in town become part of the Hunt forever. Not only does the Slayer have to worry about the king, but the jester in the faire is not what he seems...he is destined to become the Slayer's mortal adversary....

Tracy Talley~@

Absolutely fascinating.
Definitely the best one of the series though not the scariest. The story was very well written and the characters were very well-depicted. Though Angel and Oz seemed a bit off characters, they are not as laconic as in the series, but it was good to have seen different sides of them. I also love the reference to Lucy Hanover, a Slayer in the 17th century or so. The whole deal with Roland really took me by surprise. The only downside is that the book's lacks of humor, and the depressing scenes about the runaways, the hopeless and all. Still, it's an excellent book, definitely worth more than 5 stars and definitely worth your money. Buffy fan or not, you'll love this book.

What am isupposed to do
Talking with Dragons is the last book of its series by Patricia R. wrede. Its about a 16 year old kid named Daystar that lives with his mother at the end of the Enchanted Forest. One day a wizard comes to there house and his mother meltes him and sends him off to find out what he is supposed t be doing with The Sword of the Sleeping King. On his jouny he encounters a talking golden lizard, two fire witches, a magitian, a witch, alot of wizards, 7 dwarfes, a Dragon, a princess, a knight, and a jelly type thing. My favorite part is when Daystar is fighting a evil fire witch and he uses his sword agianst her and she uses a spell and he describes how his arms feel like hot lead is melting over them.i love that part becuaze its fells like your watching the lead actually melt over his arms. the only bad part is that the name of the chapterbecuaze it gives away what happens in that chapter but besides that its one of the bast books iv'e ever read. I would give this book and the other three books(Dealing with Dragons, Serching for Dragons, and Calling on Dragons). I would only recommend this book if you have read the first three books (i give them ***** to).

The Entire Series Is Phenomenally Brilliant
What? Only five stars?!? I need more to do this series justice! Patricia C. Wrede writes marvelous fantasy. It's like "Mixed-Up Fairy Tales" or something, but funnier, more engaging, and ripe for repeat reading (I just graduated from high school, and I just finished reading the entire series for the third time in a matter of days). These are timeless tales. Even her NAMES are inventive. Cimorene, Mendanbar, Kazul, Morwen, Telemain, Daystar, Shiara...and let us not forget Zemenar and Antorell. The chapter headings induce chuckles immediately, simply by their existence. She writes in a style that incorporates intelligent fantasy with enjoyable humor. The characters are some you would like to know personally. And nowhere else have I seen as unique a discussion of magic in its many forms as in these four books. I did notice a trend of centralization. Dealing was Cimorene's book. Searching was Mendanbar's. Calling was Morwen's. Talking was Daystar's. I wish the series was not concluded, because I'd love to see Telemain's book. And perhaps Kazul's book could be somewhat of a prequel. Oh, and what about a book from Antorell's perspective? That would make for an incredibly funny story. The Enchanted Forest and its surrounding is a world I want to know about. Not many authors can create an entire world that entices the reader so greatly. But Mrs. Wrede has. Unlike the Douglas Adams' Hitchiker's Guide series, which got progressively worse, each book in the Enchanted Forest Chronicles compares to the original, as fresh and brilliant as ever. Needless to say, this series is one of the best ever. I have not really sampled a lot of the adult fantasy by Piers Anthony and Anne McCaffrey and such, but I doubt they can compare with the Enchanted Forest Chronicles. This is not mindboggling fantasy like the Lord of the Rings trilogy: this is fun. Oh, and remember: ..."Argelfraster."

Wonderful book!
I must say, after reading all of the books in the Enchanted Forest series I was rather skeptical of this one. My first thoughts centered around my disappointment of the main character. "No more Cimorene?" I thought. Well this book just proved that you don't need all the originals to make a good sequel. The characters from the first three books (Kazul, Cimorene and Mendanbar plus more I believe) all make appearances, but the story this time centers around Daystar, Cimorene and Mendanbar's son from the third book. Since Mendanbar was frozen inside the castle at the end of the third book and Cimorene can't just go in and save him, it's up to Daystar. He carries with him the magical sword, and discovers a variety of wonderful and exciting characters, including the tempramental yet dazzling Shiara. A must read!

TERRIFIC, OUTSTANDING, LOIS DUNCAN HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!!!
This book was the second book I have ever read that was written by Lois Duncan, and I loved it!!! It has mystery and horror all mixed into one story. I recommend this book to those who love mystery and horror books, but if you get scared easily I suggest you don't read this book. The only part of this book that was dull was the first few chapters. All the rest was REALLY exciting.
This book is about a girl named Laurie who finds out that she is adopted and has a twin sister named Lia. Lia at first scares Laurie, but soon Laurie wants to be Lia's friend. But, then weird things start happening. Laurie's best friend is found unconsious in the park, and Laurie's boyfriend is missing. Is this all Lia's doing, has she turned evil. Is Lia starting to take over Laurie's life. You will have to read this book in order to find out!

Mystery/ Horror Reader
The title of the book that I read was Stranger With My Face, written by Lois Duncan. This is a very good fiction book that I recommend for older teenagers who like the kind of books that deal with mysterious adventures. This book is about a girl named Laurie Stratton who has a very simple, enjoyable life until she finds out many things from her past. Laurie always feels like someone is watching her and when all of Laurie's friends and family claim that they see her places, when she's actually not there, she begins to question what is going on in her life. Her simple, enjoyable life suddenly goes down the drain when she finds out that this identical person that is watching her, is really trying to take over her life. She finds out that this person isn't just anybody, but it's her identical twin sister, Lia, that was separated from her at birth. Laurie and Lia have the exact same physical appearances but the only thing that is different about the two of them is that Lia is a very evil person. Lia only appears in spirit and not in her actual solid body. She uses astral projection to have her spirit leave her body and she becomes Laurie in spirit then. Her goal is to take over Laurie's life and turn it around for the worse. Lia begins to appear in not only Laurie's life but in her friends and families' lives too. She knocks Laurie's best friend Helen unconscious and almost kills Laurie's boyfriend Jeff. With all of the things that Lia is doing to Laurie's life, she becomes more curious to see what Lia's life is like, so she too starts using astral projection to get a glimpse at Lia's life. When Laurie starts using astral projection she realizes that there is many dangers to using it and terrible things begin to happen to her, and this is when her life begins to take a turn for the worse.
I would give this book a rating of four stars out of five stars just because both the beginning and the end of the book could have been a little more interesting. The plot was very, very interesting to the point where I couldn't put the book down! I recommend this book to many teenagers and this is an excellent mystery, horror book.

Lois Duncan flies with a story about astral projection
I went to Madison, Wisconsin for a family vacation one summer when I was 10 and I took this book out of the local library. From the moment I examined the cover to the last page of Stranger With My Face I was in total rapture. I had never known anything about astral projection and I was enthralled with the topic after I read this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone, young or adult, especially those with healthy imagination. The one complaint I have about the current version of the book is the cover. The old one which portrayed Lori as a beautiful teenager with long dark hair was a much more accurate and visually stimulating picture
