A surprisingly deep and beautiful book for all ages
It's very seldom that a book both takes hold of your heart *and* guides you through metaphors to notice something about reality that had previously escaped you. 'Momo' is such a book. Set in a fantasy world that parallels what we would consider ideal, 'Momo' is the story of a special girl observeing and trying to cope with/battle against the slow and unnoticed appearance of an army of grey men -- intent on stealing the free time from all the people in her world. The effects of this time theft is clever and in a way haunting; the world begins to become modernized, looking more and more like our own. To give away any more then that would be to give away the plot; trust me, it's a wonderfull, wonderfull read for adults and kids alike. I rank it up there with C.S. Lewis's "The Chronicals of Narnia".

Momo : Please read this book to our children
Have you ever think of finding a book that capture you from the first page until the end. Beautiful story like fairy tale with supurb narrative style that you want to re-read it many times. Moreover, the book that contains a wonderful idea about life. If yes, try to read this book. Story of a little girl and her friends seemed to be a simple plot. But it isn't like that when it is in Michale Ende's hands. It's about people, friendship and time. Please read this book to your children and you will enjoy this beautiful story as well. If you still don't believe me, Let go through other's people comment for this book. The best way is to find out by yourself. In Thailand, this book is reprinted so many times and I am so glad that I can own this precious book. Another "Gem" from Michale Ende is "The Never Ending Story" both are equally supurb.. I guarantee.

A wonderful book for young and all, beautifully written
Momo has a talent, she can listen. This book tells the story of a little girl, that all of a sudden appears in an old amphitheatre - nobody knows how she got there - but something bad happ[ens, the friends that had time for her now don't come to see her anymore, don't come to talk to her - she finds out why - this is the story about momo, her friends and the grey man that steal the time - and Momo's try to rescue them. This book should be read by all those that never take a minute for themself

absolutely remarkable!!!
this is definitely one of the best books i have read so far.the author has done a great job with this book. i loved the tension between jane and adam at the beginning and how they eventually developed feelings for each other at the end. very well written, not to mention sweet, funny and addictive. once i started reading i couldn't stop! i also loved the chemistry between jane's cousin, stacy and coach 'grizzly'. a must read!!

I Do was Amazing!
This is definitly one of the best stories in the series! Elizabeth Chandler did a great job with this book. It's full of twists and unexpected surprises. My favorite scene is the one-on-one lacrosse match between Adam and Jane(Daisy). If you enjoy reading romance novels, this is the book for you! Even if you hate to read, try it because I know you'll love it too.

My absolute fave!
I Do is my absolute favorite Love Stories book.

Jane and Adam are worst enemies. Adam is the school's star lacrosse player. And Jane, who is the school's top sports reporter, is his harshest critic. Unfortunately it turns out they are going to be in Jane's cousin and Adam's step-brother's wedding as the maid of honor and the best man. As they get thrown together in hilarious situation after situation they inevitabley get to know each other better and start to fall in love...

OMG! This book is the best. Can anyone say soulmates? I love the way Adam and Jane were just absolutely perfect for each other. If they were real people you know this would be a relationship that would last. Make sure to read Chandler's other books.

The Castle of Llyr
The Castle of Llyr is the third of the Prydain Chronicles. In this exciting adventure, Taran and Eilonwy are sepparated. Eilonwy is sent to a castle, where she is to learn proper "lady" etiquette. On Taran's visit with his companion, he notices something strange. The next day, Eilonwy is gone. This was a great book of adventure and fantasy. I would say it is the best in the five book series, and reccomend it to anyone who likes a good read.

Just for kids? NOT!
The third book of the Prydain Chronicles is excellent, but somehow a little awkward. It is reminiscent of the teenager that Taran has become by this time, as he learns to help an inept prince to become more of a man. It teaches excellent values that adults as well as children should have. Enjoy this book, but read it as the third, following "The Book of Three" and the "Black Cauldron" or else it may loose some of its majesty.

The "romantic" Chronicle of Prydain
"The Castle of Llyr" is the third in the "Chronicles of Prydain". It is the first in the series to focus on Taran and Eilonwy's relationship from a romantic angle. In this book Dallben has sent Eilonwy away to the Isle of Mona to be trained in the ways of being a princess by her relatives there. Taran accompanies Eilonwy to Mona to find that he has a rival in the form of the Isle's clutzy Prince Rhun. Although this book is more romantically inclined than the others in the series, there is still plenty of adventure, especially after Eilonwy is kidnapped by a shifty steward, and Taran, Rhun, Fflewddur and the gang must go in search of her.

Couldn't take my eyes off the book!!
This is a very, very cool book! It's a book any girl who's suddenly boy-crazy can relate to. I can relate to it a lot! I've suddenly found some guys in my school a bit more attractive. I'm a seventh grader, like Zoe, and I know what it's like to be in her shoes. But, I thought that Zoe should've gotten Tommy, but oh well. Just like how Rachel Vail said, "I discovered that having a best friend meant making some sacrafices." That's exactly what Zoe did. She gave up Tommy so that she and CJ can keep their friendship. This just so proves that friendship can be more important love. You'll be expecting my letter from me soon, Rachel!

If only you knew.......what this book was like!
Awesome relatible book. It talks about real life! Zoe begins to feel the need for privacy and something of her own after she spent the night at CJ's house. She plans at how to find a best friend! She has a crush on Tommy and so does CJ. Who does he like? What will she do? She wants to do anything for CJ! Pick this book up and read it! Find out about real family problems! you gotta get it!

Other books to read by Rachel Vail: Please,Please,Please & Not That I Care

nothing can describe the greatness of this book.
i loved this book. it was amazingly realistic, and i totally realate to zoe, the lead. i think that she is incredibly mature and knows what she's doing. rachel vail has pulled off a classic. i've read this book maybe 6 times in one year. if that doesn't convince someone, what will?

The Best Book in The World
The book Dreadful Sorry is one of the best books I have ever read. I liked all of the characters and each one, I thought, made the book even more interesting. The book is about a girl named Molly who is afraid of swimming because of a girl named Clementine Horn who is in Molly's very realistic dreams(or more like nightmares.) This book is very, very, very, very(you get the point) good. I was hooked from the beginning to the end. This book was very good and I recomend it to everyone. Kathryn is a GREAT author. The next book I am planning to read of hers is the glass windows book. READ THIS BOOK! YOU WILL LOVE IT, I GUARENTEE!

Still a classic for me.
I read this for the first time in 6th grade. It was being sold at my school book fair, and so I was introduced to it this way. I remember in past years looking for it, and it is a little hard to find, but websites like these make it readily available so it's not as much of a problem.

Anyway, the storyline is pretty gripping, though can be a little monotonous and long. There are two styles of writing in this book. There is the third person narrative of the author in present day, and then the voice of Clementine, a girl from the past reliving her life through memories. It's not at all confusing, since it is divided into chapters and you can obviously tell the historical sections from the present day ones, but some chapters get a little lengthy.

The main character, Molly, is mentioned in other books by Kathryn Reiss. If you have ever read her other stories, you will recognize some of the character's names and attitudes/personalities. This makes it nice because you know it's all connected in some way or another. Makes it a little more predictable, but familiar. I like this quality in her books.

The storyline in general isn't all that complicated, but relies a little much on a subtle imagination. It doesn't take much to figure things out in this book, and the ending really isn't surprising at all. In fact, it's almost expected. But it's fitting and so it doesn't ruin the story at all.

I would recommend this to young adults, those who like small and simple ghost stories, or those who just want a pretty fast read to get away from things. It's pretty easy reading and goes relatively quickly, only about 250 pages or so.

This book remains one of my childhood favorites, and my friends have often noted how much they liked it in the past as well.

best book ive ever read
molly is a girl haunted by dreams of long hallways and is seeing another girls face in her mirror... plauqued with a fear of water she runs from her lessons and meets her friends cousin Jared ...memories open and when she is tossed in water and see's things she runs to her fathers house in maineand suddenly relizes she is now living in the house that is in her dreams... now seeing visions and "walking"in a ghosts shoes molly learns that by listening and searching her mind and sorondings for answers she will get the answers that she needs.

a real thriller , once you read the first chapter you cant put it down also try..Time Windows and The Glass House People also by Katheryn Reiss

Pure inspiration
I love this book. I play the piano and the violin, and whenever I start a new Mozart, I read this book. The first time I read it I was 12 years old, now I'm 15 and I'm still reading it. Allegra's teacher is amazing, I've learned so much from him. You can't help but get excited about music when you read it. The story is intriguing and beautiful. Allegra is incredible. You can almost hear her play. Her relationship with and feelings about her concerto are very thought provoking. From the very first page, you see the world through the eyes of an incredibly sensitive and gifted young musician. The people she meets and the friends she makes are unforgetable. I recomend this book to everyone, musician or not. I love it.

There's Something About Allegra
When the book opens with a scene at the symphony where they watch Allegra's mother perform, I got a little lost. But I kept reading and have since fallen in love with The Mozart Season. I first read The Mozart Season when I was fourteen at US Swim meet. It strange--I thought I would go through the book so fast that I brought other books, too, but the Mozart wound up taking all day. Not that I minded. It was the attention to details that got me. There is this image I have of the magnificent rose gardens of Oregon, Allegra's mother's eccentric friend, and Allegra's Bro David. The touch of romance is what did it in for me. In the Mozart Season, I was encapsulated by Euwer Wolff's tone--sheer innocence. It is something I hope to find in my own writing. Ezra, the 14-year-old Allegra meets at the violin competition, was the sweetest thing. His radio dedication to Allegra was the sweetest thing imaginable. Allegra and Ezra made me become a great fan of those radio call-in shows.

Euwer Wolff's syntax made Allegra's personality appropriately precocious. She was only 12, but was going onto 30!!!

I read The Mozart Season at least once a summer. It helps me refocus on the past summer and serves as the structure where I ask myself, what have I learned this summer, as far as I'M concerned. What have I done for myself or others lately? I never clicked with the violin (but rather, a flute), but it is that bond that Allegra shares with her instrument that I once had with my flute and now have with my writing.

Someone wrote that Steve Landauers are non-existent. Well, I've met Steve Landauer-wannabees, which has to be about three times worse!

Unfortunately, the book is now out of print and I'm in the pursuit of a good used copy!!! I NEED one for my nightstand at college!

And a final shout-out to any and all interested males--they can DEFINITELY take a hint or two from Ezra. He's got his act down right.

This book is a must-read.

Inspiring
We picked The Mozart Season by Virginia Euwer Wolff at my mother-daughter book discussion group kind of blindly. Someone had heard good things about it, and we decided to read it. From the moment I read the first sentence, I knew I was going to love this book.
The Mozart Season tells the incredible story of Allegra Shapiro, a twelve-year-old violinist. Her mother plays violin in the Symphony, and her father is an accomplished cellist. Naturally, Allegra picks up her parents' love for music. And she is quite good. She is picked to play Mozart's fourth concerto for violin at the Bloch Competition for young violinists in Oregon. The main plot of the story revolves around Allegra's struggles to master the piece before the Labor Day competition.
But this book is so much more. It also tells of Deirdre, a wonderful but troubled singer who happens to be a friend of Mrs. Shapiro. It talks about Mr. Trouble, a mentally retarded man who is searching for his lost song. It tells of Allegra's struggles to cope with the horror of her great-grandmother's death. But most of all, The Mozart Season tells about Allegra. Allegra's triumphs, Allegra's failures. Allegra's laughs and her tears. And Allegra is one of the most inspiring people I have ever read about.

The Best Book Ever!
Telling Christina Goodbye by Lurlene McDaniel is a great book. Christina and her boyfriend Tucker, Trisha her best friend, and Trisha's boyfriend go to a basketball game. Tucker gets in a fight and they all get kicked out of the gym. When they leave the parking lot this car on the right side of them start making trouble so Tucker tried to drive faster away but inside they hit a patch of ice and skid. To find out what happens, read Telling Christina Goodbye because I know that you would like just as much as I did!

Telling Christina Goodbye
Telling Christina Goodbye is a great book. I couldn't put it down!! In Telling Christina goodbye Christina's boyfriend is driving a little too fast and he slips off the road. Then he flips the car over on its side. The impact kills her instently. The caracters are Chrisina, Tucker (chrisinas boyfriend), Trisha (chrisinas best friend) and Cody (Trishas boyfriend). What do you think will happen? Will Tucker get blamed for Chrisinas's death or not?? I liked this book because there was always something happening. I read this book in a couple of nights! The author of this book is Lurlene McDaniel. I have read alot of her books and I love them all but i think Telling Christina Goodbye is the best out of all of them!!

Another Great McDaniel Book
Telling Christina Good-bye is another great book by Lurlene McDaniel. All of her books are really good, but in this one you could really identify with the main character, Trisha, as she struggles to "say good-bye" to her best friend by holding on to the memories she has. In the book you feel the pain and hurt when her boyfried doesn't recoginize her, and you can relate to how she is always there to help her best friend deal with her not-so-nice boyfriend. The reader can also feel Trisha's shock when she finds out the accident was really Tucker's fault and in a way Christina's. McDaniel rights stronly about an everyday girl whose life is turned around when a car accident leaves her injured, her boyfriend in a coma, and her best friend dead. This strays from the topic of illness that her books are normally about, but she still keeps the idea about death and how percious our life really is. If anything her point comes through stronger in this novel because the character that died didn't have the prolonged death and chance to say good-bye that most dying characters normally have in her books. The book shows how you that life can be normal one minuet and change in a split second, nevering being the same again.

Great Book!
I like this book because Maid Marian is the main character. In this realistic medieval retelling of the Robin Hood story, Marian isn't locked up in a tower waiting to be rescued. She's in the center of the action! Mary de Holt would rather die than marry the rude, old, and ugly nobleman her uncle has chosen. So she runs away in a state of confusion and terror, without stopping to think. Luckily, her smart and fretting nurse, Agnes, shows up. Together they journey to the Forestwife, a so-called good witch. Big suprise...she's lying dead. Agnes becomes the Forestwife, and begins helping the poor and hungry people of Langden. Along comes Robert, Agnes's outlaw son. He and Marian have a bit of a dislike toward each other. Marian's friend Emma has a bit of a romance with Little John. Marian meets the Seeres, a lady who has locked herself up in a cell, Alice and Tom, two talented peasants, the poor, mad old lady Sarah, fiesty outlaw woman Philippa, the heretic nuns, the drunk preist and his dog, and the wicked nobleman William of Langden. When Robert is seriously wounded, Marian is sent to nurse him back to health. Who knows what changes can happen...can two haters become lovers? This book is full of both heartbreaking and joyous surprises, and suspense. Find out why Robin had "hood" added to his name! The characters are very well devoloped. The language is how they really spoke, and it could be confusing for younger readers. The plot is wonderful, romantic, and sad all at the same time. This is a fantastic book for people who love the Robin Hood stories, the middle ages, and most female main characters. However, I took away one star because I went through the whole book until I saw the "Afterward" thinking that this was some unknown Robin Hood story, and a good one at that. I find it annoying that THE FORESTWIFE is a story put together by many other stories, most having nothing to do with Robin Hood. But it's not an error, just a little fact that needs to be acknowledged. That's the only thing wrong with this super book. For ages 10-13.

Absolutely Fantastic
I REALLY liked this book. In this story, Maid Marian is not some helpless damsel in distress, waiting for her knight in shining armor to rescue her. Instead she is a down-to-earth young girl who takes her life into her own hands, becomes a self-sufficient young woman, and learns to love.

Blossoming Love between Marian and Robin
Twists and turns, hate into romance, hardness into humor, a novella with all the key characterisitics to draw a hungry reader in. Especially with Maid Marian as a lead character, you wish there'd be a sequel. But no, this book stands on it's own pretty well, pretty darn well.

I loved it!
I really loved this book. I wish I could read the rest of the series, but all I can find is the first 2! The characters are so real. My favorite character is Lee. The characters have matured a great deal since the first book, yet are just as likeable. I liked how they put in some of Chris's poems, like ELlie I couldn't make much sense of it, but they were beeautiful sounding. It's interesting how the author works in drunk driving in a survival book. I also thought the book had a good romance. I'm glad Ellie's with Lee and not with her original crush, Homer. I like the character FIona, she's great. One good part of the book was Harvey's Heroes! It made laugh until I read the twist at the end! (If you read it, you know what I Mean.) I urge you to read it1 I'm not into action stories, but Marsden's characters won a place in my heart.

Riveting, not at all mediocre!
I've read 2 of these books and disappointed that I can't get more of them..however this weekend I am picking up one I managed to order. The Dead of Night was just as good as Tomorrow, When the War Began; actually I preferred it although they were both awesome. It's not "medicore" in the slightest, it was beautifully done, and really makes you care about the characters. It's really refreshing just to sit down and read a truly good book instead of sitting in front of the TV and being sickened by commercials. I loved how in the Dead of Night they have Chris's poems in it. I couldn't make sense of them, neither could Ellie, but like her I thought the poems were beautiful and had a wonderful sound. The romance with Lee was good. I like Lee's character. The series has inspired me in my own writing. I love how they mix deep, serious thinking and analyzation of death, hot and cold blood, with action packed scenes, as well as romance. I definitely recommend you read this, if you don't read this, you're missing out on a treat from Marsden. Great job!

The greatest war story/ comming of age tail ever told
I was first introduced to this serioes at school, we were assigned to read it for English, before this book all books assigned to us in school were all garbage and I expected the same, as did most the other students in my class, most wouldnt bother to read it, so the teacher read it aloud in class, for most of it upuntil the half way mark I ignored most of it, until it dawned on me that this book was actualy sounding o.k. When I got home i got my copy from the bookshelf and actualy started to read it, and I read at any chance I had, and when I finished I read the second and third and then had to wait while the rest were written and released
The amazing story starts off with a group of teenagers going camping, and when they return the find the Australia has been taken over by another country, they go to the bush again to hide, but can't just sit back and do nothing and decide to fight back in what ever way they can, although unconventional, when all is said and done and the series is over they made a huge impact on the war, sometimes planned, sometimes fluked, of coarse not all survive and with every loss you can not help but feel the emotional pain of the others, it is the best comming of age story I have read, and although it is listed as a young adult series, it will be unforgetable to all ages and you will develop a bond with Ellie, Homer, Kevin and the rest of the gang, I have never fell in love with any fictional charactors the way I did with these guys, not even in T.V series
A story like this comes along once in a life time, do not, and I mean do not missss this book

Amazing stories
I have read two of the other Chicken Soup books and enjoyed them very much. I have a teenager and when I saw this book I thought it would be good since we are all going through "tough times" right now. I sat down when I got home and decided to read a few of the stories and found mysled unable to stop. I cried for the girl who was made fun of and I cried for the students who expereinced such horror. But mostly I cried because I didn't have such a book to read when I was a teenager. I honestly beleive that if I had I would be a different person today. Each and every one of us needs this inspiration. Each one of us needs to remember our hearts and that we are all in this together. This book is a great tool for remembering.I suggest parents read it as well as their teens. I highly recommend it.

Great Teen Read
I absolutly LOVED this book. Fianlly a book that foucus's on issues like suidcide and eating dissorder, mixed in with a dash of death and I pinch of friend/relationship. Its the perfect combination for the recipe of teenager. It was a great self help book and a great read all at the same time. I have to say that all the Chicken Soup for the Teen Soul books are great. I own them all but this one has really touched home and helped me to connect with the authors. I definetly recommend this book to anyone who is interested especially teens. I think that this book, being as it focus's more on the rougher aspects of being a teen, will help alot more teens. Just read the first story.... bet you can't put it down...

I Love the new Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul!
Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul on Tough Stuff was a book I feel all teenagers and for that matter adults should read. It really touched me. At times I cried, and at times I laughed. This book really touched home. It reminded me that no matter how bad my day was, there is someone that has gone through the same thing and maybe worse things that same day. I have all the Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul books and this is my favorite.

I hope others can recieve that same joy I recieved from it. This book like the others will serve as a devotional for me. Each story has some meaning or lesson that will touch home.
