Sweet Valley Kids surprise! surprise!
Elzabeth and Jessica got many presents. I feit they a very enviable. The birthday party when I was a little children, I think very happy.

"Something's Brewing"
In "Caroline's Halloween Spell," the 33rd book in the Sweet Valley Kids series, Elizabeth Wakefield starts to suspect her unpopular classmate, Caroline Pearce, is a real witch after Liz reads a book on witches for class.

I thought this book was a bit too superstitious and cliched about witchcraft (i.e., Caroline has red hair, a cat, and a broom; therefore, she must be a witch), and the problem Liz and her friends have with Caroline was settled way too quickly at the end. Yet the intended audience (5 to 8-year-old girls) might like this book a bit more than I did, even though I am a Sweet Valley fan.

IT WAS A SNOBY BOOK WHEN LILA COULD GET WHATEVER SHE WANTED
This was kind of funny BUT I think Lila was a really snobby girl. She did'nt get a party with fancy things but she got to go to the beach.I would have not gotten to do that at all.If you like books with a lot of really cool and want-to-read-more books don't waist your time on this.

"Who's Fooling Whom?"
Lila Fowler is used to getting her way. So when she plans a big party, inviting her entire second grade class, she's shocked when her father tells her no. However, unbeknown to Lila, Mr. Fowler plans on having the party anyway, as a way to teach her a lesson. Everybody knows about the surprise party, except for Lila.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Otis, their second grade teacher, intends on dying her hair bright red as a way to teach Lila, Ellen Riteman, and Jessica Wakefield a lesson about looks not being important (particularly about hair), after Mrs. Otis caught the three girls teasing Amy Sutton at the beginning of "Lila's April Fool."

As shown, Lila is twice the butt of everyone's April Fools' joke. While it's nice to see her a little humbled, since she's a mean snob, I thought it was a little much. Plus the whole party secret was a bit too complicated. Still, young Lila fans should like this one, even though she's the April fool.

Rollercoaster Tycoons
Jessica and Elizabeth, those cheeky Sweet Valley twins, have recieved a rollercoaster from a friend to play on in their backyard!!!!!!!!!The only trouble is that all the other brats in town(and theres alot of them isnt there?)fight over the...toy??..

Pretty good book
The book A Roller Coaster for the Twins was a pretty good book, but not one of Francine Pascal's greatest books.A few other things happen apart from what is in the summaty.Jessica and her best friend Lila have a fight because of the roller coaster, and the Twins and their brother Steven want to get rid of the roller coaster after they see what it has done, and start pretending to be neighbors complaining about it.The book wasn't bad, though.

It was okay!
This is a good book, and I think it's a little realistic, because 7-year-olds might think 13-year olds wore tons of makeup, dresses, and high shoes every day. Yeah right! Anyway, I don't reccomend this book to anyone over 9, because it's for younger kids.

Realistically portrays sibling rivalry
This is a quality book which accurately describes the feelings little ones may have when a new sibling arrives. It is also an appropriate way for children to discover that persons of other cultures often experience the same feelings as they do. Well-written and smoothly delivered, this is a good selection for libraries and families alike.

Could have been better!
It was a good book, but I wouldn't have had her lie about the dolls. I would have my sister read it, because she is little, but I wouldn't again.

Over-idealized family life of bi-racial child
This was a sentimental story about a little girl's year after her parent's divorce. Showing how both her and her cat grow. It touches only lightly on the bi-racial character of her family background. That family is highly idealized, both grandparents living and with nice homes, all getting along fine.

Unfortunately, I came to this title from the Multi- Racial Activists' page because of specific concern over a bi-racial girl whose life is far from ideal. As a fact her life was filled with betrayal.

The highly idealized nature of the family in this book is not particularly realistic, specifically in the southern States. It doesn't touch on any controversial issues the complicate a bi-racial child's life, therefore is not appropriate for activism. My review
Jessica's Mermaid By: Francine Pascal

This story takes place at the ocean. I think the book is great. I think that the author of this book is a really good writer because she makes fun and interesting stories. This book is about a girl named Jessica. Jessica has been telling a lot of lies so her friends don't believe her any more. One day the class went on a field trip to the ocean. Jessica says that she saw a mermaid the class just ignores her except for her sister Elizabeth. The girls decide they have to find the mermaid to show the class. Read the book and find out what happens to the mermaid. I really enjoyed this book so I think it is worth reading. I think the characters all seem very real. The character that I liked the most was Elisabeth because she was exciting and fun. The story was both entertaining and exciting at different times. The story really held my interest because I really enjoy reading the Sweet Valley Kid books.

Not a Bilingual edition
This edition (Xiaoshan Di Ya Shui Qian) is NOT, despite the book description, a bilingual edition--it is Chinese only (simplified/modern characters). I gave it 3 stars because I had to give it something--my Chinese is not good enough (yet) that I could read the book.
