Great character development. Pleasant story with just the right amount of romance to complement a suspence novel.
Now, I'm interested in reading the companion piece, "Temptation."

"Twilight"is the first book that I have read by Sherryl Woods, I found it at the used book store and I am looking forward to reading another by this author. If you like suspense and romance then this is the book for you.

This was my first Sherryl Woods book and it won't be my last. She has just the right amount of mystery in her books, plus the romance is there also. I recommend this book to be read.

Wade doesn't fall into the trap of resenting a woman who earns more money than him; instead, he bears scars that leave a bitter memory of the damage that the privileged wealthy can inflict. Lauren knows she should come clean, but fears rejection, making her an endearing and sympathetic character. The Calamity Janes always hover in the background, fully prepared to meddle without ever inferring with the pace of the tale. After five installments, it saddens this reviewer to say goodbye to this marvelous cast of characters. With Wood's characteristic light-hearted touch, WRANGLING THE REDHEAD is a dazzling series finale, coming very highly recommended.

I love ranch stories and lean, sexy cowboys with great hands! I like Lauren, who has a good heart. It is a lot of fun to see a powerful woman like her find a man who is a good match for her. I am a big fan of Sherryl Woods, and this book has her trademark humor and hot sex. Try it out for a great time!

After two failed marriages, 28-year-old Lauren Winters feels like a failure, in spite of a red-hot acting career in a string of blockbuster romantic comedies and an Academy Award nomination. Needing to get her head back on straight, she escapes to her birthplace of Winding River, Wyoming, to visit friends and family.

Almost the moment Lauren arrives back at her home ranch in Wyoming, she butts heads with arrogant horse wrangler, Wade Owens. Wade didn't grow up with Lauren, and not being a fan of romantic comedies, he has never heard of her as an actress. He just knows she's rich, an interloper in his domain, and assumes she's snooty as sin.

Though she finds herself brangling right and left with Wade, Lauren comes away from their sparring sessions more stimulated than upset. What a refreshing change to interact with someone who isn't in awe of her! And as things heat up between her and Wade, Lauren is even more delighted knowing that whatever Wade feels for her, it is for her alone, not for her fame and prestige. But even as she rejoices in her good fortune, Lauren knows that sooner or later she's going to have to confess to Wade who she really is.

This book is an excellent addition to an exciting romance series. There are lots of sparks and sharp repartee between the hero and heroine. The story has plenty of conflict and tension, but (which is something I personally prefer), remains light drama without too much angsting, and with frequent touches of humor. The sexual relationship between Wade and Lauren is highly emotional, which makes it very hot. Also, if you are a fan of stories set on a ranch, you will like the way the ranch in this book is very authentically drawn.

This book starts out about a couple, Karen, and Caleb Hanson, who are in the Black, as far as financially. Karen's friends, The Calamity Janes, send her brochures of far away places to go, and one day she goes and talks to them, and her husband has a heart attack, and dies. All the while, Grady Blackhawk, according to the Hansons, is bad news, he has wanted the Hanson spread for years. In the months following Caleb's death, Grady persists in telling Karen to sell to him. She blatantly refuses him, numerous times. Then things get exciting. Parts of the pasture fence come up destroyed, Karen's prize bull comes up shot, her house burns down. All the while, Grady is there for her, she tells him to go away, to leave her alone, and so do The Calamity Janes, but he doesn't. They eventually start to trust eachother. Grady helps her out in her times of need. Helps her realize that it was not him that sabatoged her place each time. They share an intimate moment, and the rest is up to your imagination. Enjoy. :)

In the second novel of The Calamity Jane miniseries, Widow Karen Hason has two things she can count on. She has terrific friends among the friends who refer to themselves as the Calamity Janes, and Grady Blackhawk will continue to pester her until she sells him the land he wants. As everything seems to conspire to change her opinion of Grady, Karen clings ever more tenaciously to her late husband's warnings against Grady. Even as her friends comment that she tends to give everyone a second chance; everyone, that is, except Grady, despite he offers of help around the ranch.

Grady Blackhawk descends from the Native Americans who lived upon this Wyoming land before white settlers usurped their claims to the land. Now Grady's determined to gain ownership in the memory of his ancestors. Unfortunately, Karen's husband had been equally determined to keep the land from Grady's hands, and passed that legacy to his wife Karen. She denies Grady's claims that her husband was "an unreasonable man, one who twisted the facts to suit himself." She also would like to deny the passionate attraction that grows between herself and Grady.

Grady simply shows up at the ranch one day with supplies, and begins scraping old paint from the barn in preparation of new paint. He figures that his time and monitory contribution are really an investment because the upkeep is desperately needed, and the land and buildings will eventually be his anyway. Grady makes her a deal. If she will get know him and spend time with him, then he will walk away if she still thinks that he is a scoundrel and a thief. If he proves otherwise, then she agrees to sell him the ranch and goes to fulfill her dream of world travel. But as Grady gets to know her, he realizes her land is in danger from someone other than himself. Poisoned animals, fire and vandalism raise the stakes as he works to improve her property.

Author Sherryl Woods gracefully moves fans of her new miniseries into the second installment even as she prepares for the subsequent books. COURTING THE ENEMY reads equally well as a single title, or as part of the series. The strength of characterizations and tight plotting lend COURTING THE ENEMY remarkable depth. In addition, the secondary characters also sparkle, adding notes of humor and tension. Fans will look forward to the third installment of this miniseries, September 2001 release TO CATCH A THIEF. Highly recommended.

This book was an emotionally satisfying book to read. I finished it in one day; I just couldn't put it down. It shows that we shouldn't judge a person by how they look. You always have to look deeper to find the person inside.

Loved this book. She's sworn off doctors and one doctor, especially: the hero. But then they get stuck together at a sensitivity seminar where they each have to carry an egg around and treat it like their newborn baby for the whole weekend. Turns out, he's more sensitive than she thought -- and every bit as sexy as she remembered. This book was warm and funny; another winner from Ms. Mallery. I love this Prescription: Marriage series. Can't wait for the next one.

Again, Miss Woods displays an intense understanding of human nature. Her writing continues to entertain and surprise me. Here, the suspenseful plot is complemented by the fast flow of the read and the array of interesting characters, each involved in their own stories.

Jason Kane, president of a network spots Callie Smith as an extra on one of his soaps. He finds her beautiful and has to meet her. Callie Smith only did that extra piece as a favor to Terry, leading man in the soap opera. The hunt is on to find her. When she is offered the job she refuses as she is a Wall Street broker, not an actress. She finally agrees to appear on this soap that is quickly losing ratings to help her friend Terry with problems he is having. I'm not giving anything away here as this is made known pretty early in the book and this is what the focus of this book is on. Callie's mother and sister also play a part here but are both bitter women. The back and forth banter between Callie and Jason is very amusing. Twilight, is the next book I plan to read as it is the story about Dana Miller, the private investigator in this book. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Readers will also find themselves smiling at grandparent's efforts to charm their grandchild complete with pony and kitten. Very highly recommended.

I thought that this story of love separated by life desires was true to life and very sweet. Harlan Patrick became one of my favorite characters right at the beginning of Natural Born Lawman, and I was thrilled to hear that he had his own book. His heartache over losing his longtime love to the career she had ben dreaming about for years was very true to life, as many people sacrifice love for their dreams. But I was definately happy that their love survived and prospered. It was a wonderful book, and I hope that I can find many just as good.

Tucker Spencer never forgot the woman who broke his heart years ago. He learned a valuable lesson when Mary Elizabeth Swan married someone else...don't risk your heart for anyone. When she turns up in his bed after finding her savvy politician husband murdered, Tucker discovers that he can't turn her away. Now he has a murder in his county that needs to be solved, but has to take himself off the case because he feels his objectivity is in question. As if he doesn't have enough on his plate, suddenly he has his father, King Spencer, on his back about helping the social climbing witch that broke his heart all those years ago.

Liz Chandler realized early on that her marriage was a mistake. She didn't do anything about it though, not until a week before her husband was murdered and she told him she wanted a divorce. After a very public scene, Liz returned to her family home in Trinity Harbor, not expecting to find her husband murdered in the library. The only person she can trust is Tucker Spencer, the man she left so many years before.

Now, with a murder investigation going on, Liz and Tucker are gingerly finding their way together toward what they lost so many years ago. The reader won't be dissapointment in Woods' final installment in the Trinity Harbor trilogy. We will also learn the fate of King and Frances as well as get caught up with news of Daisy and Walker as well as Bobby and Jenna.

Sherryl Woods holds the reader suspended in deadlock----but it is well worth the wait. Family members are victims of circumstances involving twists and turns in the political and social life connecting the village of Trinity Harbor with the state capital of Virginia. I recommend reading About that Man and Ask Anyone, the 1st two in the series, before reading this one....a perfect ending to the trilogy about the Spencer clan.

Sherryl Woods' stories are alway very entertaining. This book does not disappoint. It contains all the ingredients of a good book, romance, humor, and mystery. I highly recommend it.

Jenna Kennedy has something to prove. She's ready to show her father and two brothers that she is more than an empty-headed woman that is only good for answering the phones and doing the filing at their family owned company. All she has to do is get the attention of Bobby Spencer, and covince him that she's the perfect person to plan his development of the boardwalk in Trinity Harbor. The problem is, once she's there, Jenna never wants to leave.

Bobby Spencer has had his heart broken and he is determined that it won't happen again. But he couldn't stop Jenna from bulldozing into his life and changing the way he thought about involvement. The only thing is, she's determined to keep their relationship strictly professional, because she doesn't want anything interfering in the planning of the boardwalk.

This is my second Woods book, the first one being 'About that Man'. In her normal light hearted way, Woods brings enough emotion into this book to keep the reader hooked. With the antics of Darcy, Jenna's daughter and the return of Robert 'King' Spencer, you won't put this book down until you've finished it.

It was a pleasure returning to Trinity Harbor once more, this time the story centers around Bobby Spencer, restaurateur and real estate mongrel and Jenna Kennedy only daughter from a rich Baltimore family who has to fight to be seen as more than just an after thought to her father and brothers.

After hearing about development of beachfront property Jenna has a surprise delivered to Bobby's front lawn in the hopes of getting his attention so that he would be wiling to at least listen to the ideas she has regarding the development since he won't take her phone calls on the matter. Of course Bobby wants nothing to do with Jenna and the surprise she left disappears under mysterious circumstances.

After the disappearance of her attention getting surprise and much resistance from Bobby, Jenna packs up her stuff and her daughter then moves down to Trinity Harbor with a proposal that Bobby can't refuse for his new development which will make Trinity Harbor a place where families would want to visit on weekends or vacations.

Little do Bobby and Jenna suspect but more than fate has played a hand in their potential working relationship. Yes, the meddling King Spencer has decided the spunky Baltimore woman is just what Bobby needs to put his life in perspective and has decided that Jenna is the perfect candidate who would be perfect for his youngest son, and then sets the plan in motion. Things don't go precisely the way King planned but Jenna is definitely the motivation that Bobby needed in order to let go of the past and begin to really live again.

I especially enjoyed being reacquainted with the past couples from the Trinity Harbor saga: Daisy and Walker, Anna-Louise and Richard as well as the budding relationship between King and the lovable Frances have progressed.

Overall this was a fun and entertaining novel, and I can't wait to find out what happens to Tucker!!!

I have read all of Ms. Woods' novels and they are all very good. She keeps getting better and better. This story has everything, romance, humor, even a mystery. While it is light, it addresses some serious issues. I read it in two days.
