The Cowboy...
This book is a keeper but slightly predictable. I found the hero sweet but alittle slow on the uptake. I did like it enough to order the next two books in the series though.

Good
The book is about Lara and her farm and Steve, Lara's love from the past who wants her back now... or just her farm? There also are 2 or 3 children Lara is babysitting.
I can't remember the book too well, but I know I liked it. The setting was great. Definitely one of the better ones in the Silhouette/Harlequin genre.

OOOO---HOT, HOT, HOT
Sherryl Woods did a pretty good job with this light novel. The story centers around a director, Gregory Kinsey and his attempt to direct another great film. That said, we know that this novel will involved movie stars or people who are wannabe movie stars. We also know that this crowd of people can be quite a motley crew.

Well, I was not disappointed. The story starts out with the director being found dead in the lead actress's trailer. Now we have a who done it story. Each actor/actress, management staff and stage hand is examined before the criminal is found. Leading the search was Det. Michael O'Hara and Molly DeWitt, damage-control company person.

After revealing what most of us think about the movie star world, that is, everybody sleeps with everybody else and most of this stuff goes on simutaneously, the killer is finally found. All in all, this was a very easy read.

Trust proves to be the foundation of a solid relationship
In this second story of Sherryl Woods's sub-series, The Delacourts of Texas, Jeb Delacourt is hot on the heels of Brianna O'Ryan, brilliant geologist and industrial spy...or so he thinks. When three deals go sour at Delacourt Oil and his own father, a cutthroat businessman, shrugs at the loss, Jeb becomes determined to figure out why Brianna is betraying the company she apparently has every reason to be loyal to. Brianna does have a secret and it has nothing to do with industrial espionage. Against her better judgement, she finds herself charmed by Jeb Delacourt though she suspects he has an ulterior motive in beginning a relationship with her.

It would have been simple to let their story be consumed with constant misunderstandings and petty feelings due to the bitter nature of these circumstances which are seemingly beyond their control. Instead, Woods strongly emphasizes the lack of trust to be what hinders them by strong arguments on the part of both characters. The author also spends a great deal of narrative time establishing first their friendship and then their growing love for each other. Because of this, when Jeb lowers the ax, the reader feels the extent to which it has become personal between the two of them. While Jeb is misguided, and overly enthusiastic, about his desire to become an investigator, Brianna is smart and savvy in her approach to discovering the leak. In the end, the truth may not surprise you but the depth of the role it plays in bringing Jeb and Brianna together just might.

An entertaining read -- Recommended
Attorney Rafe O'Donnell follows Gina Petrillo from New York to Wyoming when she leaves town for a class reunion. A cynical man, Rafe believes that Gina was part of her partner's scam to embezzle the investors of restaurant's funds. He also believes that if he follows her long enough and closely enough, she'll lead him to the partner. Rafe is wrong.

Despite their mutual suspicion, Rafe and Gina cannot deny the connection they feel when they are together. Nevertheless, Gina feels constantly on edge, continually reminded of the foolish and mistaken kisses they've shared. Not to mention how much she'd like to repeat those kisses. Indeed, his kisses make Gina forget why he's following her around. Despite their attraction, they must acknowledge the legal issues that keep them apart, as well as the wicked thoughts keep drawing them together.

Once again author Sherryl Woods pens a heart-touching romance in the third book of her miniseries The Calamity Janes. With her characteristic warmth and gentleness, Woods' characters come alive with the ambiguities and ethical dilemmas that make them both imperfect and believable. While the plot slows at times to bring in the characters from the other books in this series, readers who have delighted in this wonderful series will enjoy the quick asides. TO CATCH A THIEF is a lively and entertaining read, coming recommended.

Did anyone edit this book??
I stumbled upon this at the library, and after reading it, I could see why it's out of print. The story engaged me enough for awhile, but then it was as if the author put it down, and returned to it YEARS later. Throughout 2/3 of the book, Kevin's niece was a ten year-old child. Then, out of nowhere, Woods writes "the teen ran after Gracie" referring to the same niece! And, at first I thought it was just a typo...but, alas, the "teen" took on an entirely different (consciously adolescent) way of speaking. Did Woods forget a character she created?? That is ridiculous! And, it completely broke the sense of 'escapism' for me. Here I'd grown to semi-care about a little child, and now she'd turned into a sixteen year-old in the same summer?! Beyond that, where was the EDITOR when all this was going on?? Absolutely absurd. Also, Woods builds good ... tension between Gracie and Kevin for about the first 2/3 of the book, and then it just fizzles into a very anticlimactic, forced situation where the heroine doesn't even say "I love you" ONCE to him, even at the very end of the book. What? This was another reason why it seemed as though Woods had gone back to this story, very half-heartedly, and did a slap-dash finishing job. And, forgive me if this is tacky, but I'd hoped there would at least be some steamy [scenes] to move the story along a little, but again I was disappointed. Oh well. Obviously I don't recommend you read this one. ....

I May Read it Again!
Seagull Point reminds me of a small, rural town along the Potomac River in Virginia, one I visit frequently. More importantly, the character development and story line are super. This is a story for now--young, professional men and women seeking alternatives and purpose beyond their ongoing professional pursuits. It's a fast read that is captivating.

Delightful
The story is delightful. The author's characterizations, fast paced style and underplayed sexual encounters capture the essence of desire, without belaboring the point.
Fun stuff.

A disappointment
Maddie Kent is out for revenge and Tyler Delacourt is a means to the end. Feeling her father had been wronged years ago by Tyler's father Maddie decides to get even. Tyler is Maddie introduction to Bryce Delacourt. Instead of getting the revenge she thought she deserved, Maddie opened a whole new set of problems that changed everything for Tyler. I've read the entire series of Baby Makes 3, the Next Generation, and the Delacourts. Of the series this one was the worse. I never found the attraction between Tyler and Maddie. I never found the flow of the story. In the end you knew Tyler and Maddie would get together but, I didn't understand it. They never seemed to fit, especially considering Maddie told lies for most of story. As I said I was disappointed in this installment of a very good series.

Highly recommended
Readers of the October release, MARRYING A DELACOURT, were tantalized by allusions to the youngest Delacourt brother Tray. While Tray refused to reveal the cause of his preoccupation, several family members commented upon his withdrawal from the family and the pain he attempted to conceal. In THE DELACOURT SCANDAL, Sherryl Woods reveals both the causes of Tray's pain and the possible solutions to regaining happiness.

Determined to undercover Delacourt secrets in retribution for the damage done to her family, Maddie Kent establishes a relationship with the dynasty's youngest son Tray. Convincing Griffin Carpenter to hire her to unearth Delacourt secrets be published in the Dallas-based tabloid, Hard Truths. Never mind that she had attended one of the nations' best journalism schools, meaning that she had taken her fair share of courses in media ethics and responsibility. All she wanted was one this one expose, even if meant she'd never work as a reporter again. Then she met Tray Delacourt.

Tray Delacourt doesn't fit the Delacourt mold, preferring fieldwork to the home office and desk job. No matter how loving his family has been, Tray's always felt a bit on the outside, and persued his own direction. The most tight lipped of the Delacourts, Tray displayed a lot of flash and dazzle to the world while keeping his inner self private. Maddie certainly wasn't prepared to find herself attracted to Tray, and finds her resolve to bring the Delacourt family to their knees wavering.

Maddie's innocence-sin attraction proves irresistible to Tray. Her sweet face and kissable mouth combined with her shapely legs are impossible to ignore. For the first time since he lost the woman and child he loved, Tray feels stirrings of attraction for the saucy, sassy Maddie, even when he suspects that she's been less than honest.

THE DELACOURT SCANDAL is a sparkling, sexy romance with a hearty blend of secrets and sensuality. The author's light tone and delightful spunky energy will captivate lovers of romance. While freshness and originality are difficult qualities to accomplish in genre romance, Woods pulls it off with flair! I highly recommend THE DELACOURT SCANDAL.

Texas-Sized Disappointment
The plot is one more of the four standard romance story lines. Girl comes back -- temporarily, she thinks -- to the small town she fled years before. Circumstances conspire to keep her at home and too close to the dangerous male whose touch renders her helpless. In After Tex, the formula becomes a tired one. The hero is stripped of his danger too early on. There are too many subplots and too many characters. To make matters worse, the author's descriptions of the interaction between the main characters were insipid. If you like your romances hot, skip this one.

Ok I Give Up, How does it end?
This book started off ok. I wanted to keep reading, but it sort of ended. What happened? This would have been a wonderful book if it ended... Things I didn't like : Jake's dark side was taken away too early, Megans attitude suddenly on the last page changed to she can do it all, and i'm still waiting to find out what happened to Micah, and Todd sort of was left hanging and what is the story with Flo, and that guy peters love interest in NY?

This story had a great storyline, it was a bit sad at parts but other than not ending any of the storylines it wasn't too bad.

Excellent
This book was very entertaining. The development of the characters was well done and the ending was quite satisfying. I read this book in a day, I couln't put it down. Ms. Woods ranks right up there with Nora Roberts and Jayne Ann Krentz. I can't wait for her next book.
