I am currently using this book in a college composition course. I find this book to be extrememly helpful in writing my essays. The book gives examples of different types of essays and even examples of parts of essays, like the Introduction and Conclusion. This book is easy to read and understand.

Without question, a must-have for any serious art lover. The quality of the text and illustrations are first-rate as is expected from the arguably finest art book publisher of our time. As essential to any library as "Paintings in the Vatican" and "Paintings in the Uffizi and Pitti." Keep them coming, Bulfinch!

This young poet gives the reader a clear vision of what it is like growing up poor in he inner city. The deep dark poems are heartwrenching as they describe the view from her teenage eyes. I found this to be very inspirational.

This book has real life stories about police, paramedics, and firefighters. The police stories talk about crimes and they tell how they go after the criminal to catch them. The paramedics talk about them rescuing people from accidents and taking them to the hospital. The firefighters stories are pretty self-explanitory, they talk about them fighting fires and usually rescuing people. This book is based on the hit TV show Rescue 911 and is really worth getting if you have any interest in heroic and exciting stories. I would recommend this book to everyone that likes to read! It's an awesome book.

This book offers a new perspective on the idea of sacraments by looking at life lived sacramentally. The Vogels move beyond church traditional thinking about sacraments (Eucharist, Baptism, and others) to think about friendships, hospitality, sharing gifts, being present to others as sacraments. They invite readers to think about the whole of life as sacred and they see aspects of the sacred in all facets of life.

There have been many, perhaps far too many, books which try to use chaos & complexity theory as a model for therapy. Most such books have only the most limited understanding of either chaos/complexity theory or therapy. This book stands out because the authors are both working therapists and experts in non-linear dynamics. And perhaps most importantly, they know how to write in a way that is useful to therapists, as well as to anyone who wants to think deeply about how human beings grow and change.

While this book does not cover every possible situation, it does provide insight into those which are most relevant. It was well written and proceeds in a logical fashion. I found chapter 10, covering taxes and fees, particularly helpful. If you are new to the commercial aspects of the telecom world, this is a good place to start. I have read several books on the subject and found this one to be the most complete.

I admit it, I wrote this book and I love it. The concept of slipping math skills quietly into the story is a great one for kids who, like myself, may find math as appealing as a plate full of lima beans. Math Matters takes the ickiness out of math, and Who's Got Spots? is a cute and humorous story that gets to the heart of a real kid's fear of not being able to be a star of a show if chicken pox catch too many of the performers. Cute!

After seeing Linda Richman on Oprah, I realized we share a lot in common with each other. Linda's life experiences didn't keep her from moving on, and as she said, she's now a life junkie. I suffer from agrophobia too and after reading I'd Rather Laugh I know there is help out there for me! Linda's book has inspired me and that door knob is not so scary now. If you suffer from any kind of anxiety, read the book. Help is out there if you look around. When you read Lindas book, you'll realize that you can overcome anything with the gift of laughter. Try it youll like it!

After reading I'd Rather Laugh by Linda Richman, I feel I have to share my insights. This wonderful book can help you put the trials and tribulations of your life in proper perspective. Miss Richman has endured more sorrow in her life than most people experience in a lifetime, but yet she smiles, laughs and forges on. She herself says that her book is not a "self-help" book, but rather "self-HOPE" in the respect that a book can't change your life, but it can give you the impetus to go on, not just to endure, but to laugh again. She shares the most intimate aspects of her life with dignity and that incredibly warm, skewed sense of humor that leaps out from every page. It's no wonder her son-in-law, Mike Myers, saw fit to create his Linda Richman character after her. Bravo to Linda Richman!

I was recommended to reading this book by a friend, so I bought it to make my friend happy. But I made myself happy too. This is a book for anyone who wants to feel good about life. Linda Richman is a female mensch. She has gone through such pain in her life that you shouldn't know from. She's a tough lady who has a heart of gold. What I got from this book is that no matter what you have going in your life, you can always find something to laugh and smile about. Nobody goes through life without pain and this easy to read book teaches you how to cope with the pain. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to feel better about themselves and their lives. I thank the author for sharing the details of her life with the reader and I wish the rest of her life to be filled with lots of laughter.

Oursler's work is not unlike a traffic accident: it can be horrifying, but it is so fascinating that one cannot look away. The work speaks to the anxiety of our age and the isolation we've created in our society.
This book is a big step to giving this artist the recognition he deserves. I highly recommend it.
