Amphibian overview
This reference provides a solid overview of amphibians, and has long been used as a university textbook on the subject. While other references are more suitable for amphibian neuroanatomy, this reference provides a rich description of amphibian reproductive behavior, development from egg to larvae to metamorphosis, ecology and evolution, as well as a chapter on the musculoskeletal system and another on other anatomical/physiological aspects of amphibians.

Biology of Amphibians
As a herpetologist, I find this book very complete and still up to date. The contents are well chosen and include every single aspect of their biology. The authors succeeded in making a extremely well chosen summary of the complex biology of the Amphibians.

It is a very BRIEF! but very lucid and fun to read!
You defintely can judge the book by its cover on this book. I really liked it a lot. I used this book as a reference tool to teach my philosophy/ethics class in college. This is defintely not for the serious philosophy student, but a very nice introduction to the ideas that dominated western thought throughout the Greek/Roman world that has come to us today. It also treats postmodernism, and the ideas that dominates today as well. This book presents a very lucid history of ideas that is very enjoyable and fun to read!

Because I had to interloan the book from another library and I am unable to renew it, I will buy it after I place this review. ...

Very diverse
The authors did a superb job of bringing the greatest minds in history seamlessly into one book. If you enjoy the questions of life and the symmetry of psychology, philosophy, theology and more this is a must read. If you are already familiar with Plato, Freud, Marx and the likes it may be to brief for you, but if your new to them it's a must buy.

What a book!!!
An amazing book with great colorful pictures. It begins from how to prepare histologic sections to the description of the most important tissues, organs and systems of eight species (dog, cat, horse, cow, sheep, goat, pig, and chicken). Before the pictures, the book gives you a very useful and brief chapter introduction. It also has a detailed glossary containing nearly 750 words. A necesary book for a veterinary student. El mejor libro de histologia veterinaria que he visto!

an atlas with great pictures and concise text
This atlas provides wonderful full color pictures of cells and tissues from several animal groups. The pictures are logically grouped by tissue type with examples from different species being shown together. Many of the sections have brief, but useful introductions. All the pictures are well labeled and have a brief discription of important characteristics of the specific cells or tissue types presented.

It likely to be useful to individuals working in veterinary science, animal science or animal research.

Excellent for lunatics,lovers and poets!
If you love this play and are thrillled by the stage history and staging minutiae, the this book will send you reeling! The historical reasearch is encyclopediac and captivating. Your rude sea will grow civil with its song.

Delightfully entertaining and a magical humerous romance
I thought that the book was fantastic and delight. I couldn't put it down. I loved every minute of the book.

Morning Glory: A Biography of Mary Lou Williams
Published in Hardcover by Museum of Our National Heritage (1999)
Author: Linda Dahl
Amazon base price: $24.95
Average review score:

A rewarding experience
An engagingly written book on a much ignored, extremely talented musician. Mary Lou Williams was (and is) respected by music giants the world over, including the likes of Duke Ellington. This book puts Williams' importance to American music in perspective, and gives her the overdue credit she so obviously deserves.

My recommendation is to put on a MLW disc, sit back and read. It will be a rewarding experience.

Highly recommended reading for American Jazz fans.
Mary Lou Williams' jazz experiences are detailed in a biography which covers both her life and career and her role as an Afro-American female musician. Dahl was given unlimited access to the Williams archive and her first full-length biography of Williams makes for an important coverage.

Excellent Book for the Wards
This is an excellent book for pediatric residents and medical students in pediatric rotations. The book is organized by symptom e.g. abdominal pain, chronic cough, and it provides a comprehensive list of differential diagnosis, flow charts for diagnosis, as well as short discussions on most common diseases associated with that particular symptom. A must for pediatric rounds.

Best damn hockey story ever told aye?
Our "Roy Boy" was and is to this day the best beer drinkin, girley grabbin, goaly this sport of kings has ever seen. It's all here aye, the unplanned birth, life, and times of a hoser who asked for nothing but someone elses blood on the ice for a change. I only hope Gordon Lightfoot writes a ballad soon to accompany this bible. The writers put themselves into our fellas woolies. Only God himself could have pegged this dude so well aye? I hear the blades on the ice, the crouds booing, barkers in the stands calling out for peanuts, popcorn, Moose Head, and a French Quebec. Steal this book! To purchase would only insult the spirit of our boy, Roy, the best damn hockey player to glide into another player on purpose. Soon, THE MOVIE!

This is a GREAT book!
I am a 4th grade teacher in Washington, DC. I used this book to wind down after the Stanford 9 Achievement Test. The kids loved it! We did a production of Food Wars! This book takes you step by step through the process...from advertisments to the cast party! We were a BIG HIT! I have misplaced the book and I regret it! I hope to get another one!
