A wonderful book with an unusual and important message
I loved this book and so did my son. It is SO hard to find children's books that say that it's okay to be behaviorally a little different. So many books say it's okay to be different in other ways, but there is not much out there for the child that might be not ready to try new things as eagerly as their peers. Most books seem to tell them to "go ahead, try it, in the end it will be great" but this book admits that Edward was just plain not ready for an overnight, and that being at home was much happier for him. I think Rosemary Wells is one of the few authors out there for young children that truly understands them.

Another winner for Rosemary Wells!
"Felix Feels Better" tells the story of a little guinea pig's first visit to the doctor with sensitivity and understanding. The text is simple and straightforward, making it easy for a young listener to relate to the plight of the little piggie who eats too many treats before bedtime, then wakes up feeling "not very perky." Rosemary Wells' pictures are a perfect accompaniment to the text. The smallest child will see himself and his fears in going to the doctor for the first time eased by the gentle story of Felix and Dr. Duck, as Felix literally bounces back by the end of the book!

A heartwarming story of the best dog in the world.
I grew up with the Lassie TV series so had a soft spot for her already. I purchased this book at our local book store as it was by a "local author" which surprised me as I live in Bucks County PA. (Lassie is actually buried here). I read this story to my almost six year old and the last few pages I was in tears, it was so touching. My son and I heartily recommend this book.

Great begginer level letters and sounds
My 3.5 year old loves the Timothy Goes to School series on PBS. That is why when I saw this book, I grabbed it immediately and I was not wrong.
Based on the Timothy characters, the book is not as much a story as it is a set of fun excersises that let kids learn and practice letters and sounds. The level of difficulty is manageable for a 3 year old who knows some of the letters. The activities are fun and not complicated. We read this book on our bus commute every day and it helped my son grasp not only letters, but also sounds and rhymes.
Definitely a good one.

Great way to get kids interested in Greek myths
My 2 boys, ages 5 and 2, really enjoy this book. It uses a universal sibling problem---one touching another's property---to set up a retelling of Pandora's Box. In this version, Pandora's Box contains bugs, which are then eaten by a big spider---a real child pleaser touch! My older son says he likes this book because "it's one book inside another book". He loves the idea of a story within a story, and gets excited that at the end "Max and Ruby are back again!"

Max and Ruby's Midas: Another Greek Myth
Another wonderful Max and Ruby story! Once again, Maxoutsmarts his long-suffering sister Ruby. My kids (2 and 4)love this book. The story is funny and the pictures are clever. Its also fun for grown-ups to read. I can't recommend Max and Ruby enough.

The Board Book that is definitely not Boring!
Rosemary Wells has done it again! Max's New Suit playfully explores a simple concept that is familiar to toddlers and their grown ups. Combining a simple text with her extremely expressive illustrations, Ms Wells tells the story of brother and sister team, Max and Ruby. In this amusing tale, Max must get dressed in his new suit (which he hates!) to attend Ruby's tea party. Despite Ruby's help, the precocious Max wants to do it himself and this is where the story takes a delightful twist. My 6-month old Max loves the Max books and recognizes the Max and Ruby characters. The illustrations and text are clear and colorful while complimenting each other. This book holds his attention during our frequent readings and, I believe, helps to foster his sense of humor and fun. Max's New Suit will keep both child and reader entertained for reading after reading! It is an essential book for every baby's library (or, as Ms Wells might say, every Bunny's library).

I loved this book
I read this book yesterday and bought it for a favorite 3-year old. This book is wonderful -- color illustrations combined with real-life coping skills that kids can relate to. The litte bunny has had a trying day, riding in the car. He's been jumped on and had cold liver chili for dinner... It's time for a visit to the Bunny Planet to see the way the day should have gone.
The writing is gentle and sleepy-making, but sophisticated enough to keep me reading to the end with a dozing toddler in my lap. Shoot, I'd like to go twenty light years south of Mars, too on a rough day.
Get all three of these books -- they are wonderful.
