Fascinating Concept and Storyline
Solid characters and dialogue accent the lavish scenery and exciting storyline. I found this book to be one those you just can't put down-it grabs and holds your attention, entertaining you all the way. The story takes place in the 1960's and the Federal Government is into some exotic test programs to help win the Vietnam War. With much the same "feel" as an Area-51 thriller, this story takes the reader into the mindset of the military at that time. Since the author is a retired U.S. Army Colonel, he adds just enough twists to keep a reader wondering "what if." The journey you'll take through the pages of this book will provide you with hours of sincere pleasure. I recommend it most highly.

a good introduction to collecting compacts
If you are just getting started with collecting compacts, this is a nice starter book. It breaks down the different categories of compacts (e.g., enamels, novelties, Deco) and gives excellent color examples with good descriptions of what to look for in that category. The small amount of examples also gives a new collector a good foundation for learning about the different makers and styles without getting overwhelmed. If you already have all the other compact books, this one is still worth getting for the pictures and its fresh take on what's out there. There are also nice tips on maintaining and caring for your compacts.

Easy enough for my 3-year-old to understand!
I checked this book out from the library, and now I have to buy it because my son keeps asking for the "hamburger book". It has lots of pictures for the little ones to understand and both simple and complex wording for kids in different language learning stages. My son is so proud that he can say "epiglotis" and tell you what it is! This book certainly answers the question "where does poop come from?" in a child-friendly way.

A highly practical reference resource
Collaboratively compiled and organized by Matthew S. DeMoss (Dallas Theological Seminary) and J. Edward Miller (Teaching Pastor, Trinity Bible Church, Richardson, Texas), Zondervan Dictionary of Bible and Theology Words accurately, concisely, and accessibly defines over 1,700 Biblical and theology in easy-to-grasp language. From "abba" (Aramic for "father," a word Jesus uses to address God) to "zugoth" (the name given to pairs of rabbis who were thought to have transmitted the Torah from the time of the Maccabean Revolt to the first century C.E.), Zondervan Dictionary of Bible and Theology Words is a highly practical reference resource which is highly recommended for Biblical students and scholars, as well as the non-specialist general reader.

Great jumping off point!
I enjoyed this book on many levels, which I'll discuss below, but the best part about it, is I've now added about 20 books to my wish list (I'm sure amazon appreciates it!). This book is fabulous as a jumping off point. It describes books well enough to pique your interest--or turn you away,if it's not your style. Plots are discussed only in the minimum; there's never any spoilers. It also discusses actors, writers, and production work of the wonderful series Mystery! The pictures from the shows are beautiful. If you have any interest in the show Mystery, or in adding new authors to your stack to read, take a look at this book. You won't be disappointed.

Questions answered and new paths to take
Once in a while something does come along to rival sliced bread. This book is it. I have had many questions about different mystery series. The latest is when the BBC produced The Dorothy L. Sayers series with Lord Peter Wimsey and Harriet Vane, why did they stop short and not produce "Busman's Honeymoon"? And the answer is:

"Sadly, Mystery! Viewers never got to see the payoff to this classic romance. Sayers wrote about the marriage in 'Busman's Honeymoon', which couldn't be filmed for Mystery! Because Sayers had sold the film rights to Hollywood in the 1930's; it was turned into the 1940 film 'Haunted Honeymoon', but efforts to secure the rights for the new BBC-TV version weren't successful."

This book is packed with such information and many great stills form many Mystery! programs. Now I need to see the ones I missed.

Mystery : a celebration
Mystery : A Celebration is the ideal book to have by your armchair while you watch mysteries like Inspector Morse, Prime Suspect, the P.D. James mysteries, and many others that appear on the PBS MYSTERY series. Don't watch any of these mysteries without MYSTERY : A Celebration. Mystery readers will also enjoy this book. It provides the reader with a listing of titles by mystery authors like Colin Dexter, P.D. James, and others. It provides the reader with biographical information about the mystery authors and actors who are well known for portraying the popular detectives as well.

Knowledge About Cerebrospinal Fluid Fistula
We have got the textbook and we thought that the book our main anesthesiology resource.

Recently we have a case of cerebrospinal fluid-cutaneous fistula following spinal anesthesia used for indirect inguinal hernia repair. But we couldn't see any comment in the textbook about the management of cerebrospinal fluid fistula from inthratecal space to skin due to postdural puncture for purpose of spinal (intrathecal) anesthesia.

Cutaneous cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) fistula are known to occur rarely under spinal puncture during spinal anesthesia, and CSF leaks via that fistula. This complication is often self-limiting but sometimes needed some treatment procedures such as intravenous fluid restruction, patient prone position, strecth dressing of wound, epidural injection of autologous blood patche or fibrin glue, or uncommonly use of CSF drainage system.

We think that if this complication and its' management is included in new edition of the textbook it will be better.

With our regards,

Hakan Erbay, M.D. Assisstant Professor of Anesthesiology Pamukkale University, Medical Faculty Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, Denizli, Turkey

fun sticker book for fire truck toddler enthusiasts
For a recent trip we bought a large number of sticker and activity books for our toddler. These in the Sticker Stories series were very popular and helped make the trip a pleasant one.

There are seven colorful two-page spreads and one one-page picture on which to place stickers. These show various scenes, including the fire station, a street the trucks pass, a city building on fire, a forest fire, a boat fire, an airport fire, a house fire and a cat stuck up a tree. There are over 70 reusable stickers to place within these scenes; all are fire vehicles.

We will definitely buy more activity books from this series.

Fantastic!
My 3 year old son loves this book! He loves playing with stickers and the concept of applying them within a story is fabulous! The story gives him just enough guideline to make him think about what stickers he is applying where (and why) but also the freedom to be creative! After he is done with the stickers we go back and read the book and talk about all the pictures and stickers again. I highly recommend this book. I will be purchasing more sticker stories in the future!

J. D. Edwards OneWorld, A developer's Guide
This is an excellent reference for a OneWorld developer. It is a good compendium of JDE documentation and tips from the real world. The only complaint that I have about the book is that it sometimes sounds like it was written by a JDE cheerleading section and some of the flaws of the product are glossed over. It will not make you a OneWorld developer, but it will make you a better OneWorld developer.

Very good book, not latest Xe version, not complete
Better and thinner than JDE official manuals, well balanced between concept and details. Give good big pictures on architecture and some useful step by step technical procedures on administration, maybe not enough on troubleshooting. OneWorld Xe version have a lot of improvement, this book will be excellent if keeping update with Xe version.

Overall a great book!
This book is an excellent collection of short stories with a sinister bent. Unfortunately, some are not up to par with the rest but most are well worth your time. The story about disfigured Air Force cadets with a hatred for truckers is worth the price of the book alone as is the story "Mother Tucker".

Excellent book!
"Stalkers" is a great collection of short stories with a very sinister streak. While some tales are not as good as others, the book overall is definitely worth reading time. In fact, the story about disfigured Air Force cadets who hate truckers and the tale, "Mother Tucker", are worth the price of the book alone.

My Lady Beloved (Premier Series)

A disappointment!
I normally really like Linda Lael Miller books. However, this book attempts to give frontier motivations and actions to the English Middle Ages. Not believable.

MY LADY BELOVED
Normally I love the books by Linda Lael Miller. This particular book, written as Lael St. James, was a book that I tried for three days to read. I just couldn't get into it. I finally just put it down. I thought it moved very slowly. I much prefer the western historicals that Linda writes.

anxious to read the sequel
Gabriella Redcliff is kidnapped on her way to her wedding by Duke with a grudge against her betrothed. After a number of fights and disagreements, Gabriella realizes the knight she is betrothed too is not very honorable at all and falls head over heels for her kidnapper. The ending is not totally complete, to be continued in the next book My Lady Wayward
