A Place to Start
This is a place to start in getting it back together after Bypass Surgery. It should be on a list (though doctors don't have one) of reading either before or after surgery. Unfortunately the emphasis is on the male patient with only a brief mention of women in the role of caregiver. There are many of us women out here who have had bypass and need support as well too. We will write our own books on the subject but the male doctors MUST read them too. Worth the time to read.

They should give you this book in hospital
Open heart surgery has enormous psychological implications which are ignored by the medical profession. This book addresses all those needs. Although the book tends to focus on the "heart attack" patient, it is useful and adaptable to anyone who has undergone open heart surgery. It also addresses the emotional needs of the spouse and the family. This book should be given to patients soon after surgery.

An inefficient predator
The author has fallen into the trap of dividing the animal world into herds and preditors. Ecologically the most sucessful preditors have been pack hunters. If he had understood this, he might have developed his argument for Promethian Satanism more convincingly. As it is, he has missed the mark with regard to love. No K-selected species can endure with out it, since it allows for the investment in progeny. His view that to a Luciferan the ultimate predation is predation of God, I found odd, since I haven't found many on the Dark Path who take God seriously. On the positive side, this book does point out the distain many feel for agape. It was a valiant attempt, and the logic sound, in that, the conclusions did flow from the premises. A better grasp of Ecology should improve his next book.

An easy to read basic summary of surgery.
I used this book as an introductory text in my surgery term in medical school. It is an entry level text for medical students, and is useful for getting an overview of the most common surgical diseases. However, it does lack some depth in diagnosis, and has an annoying habit of separating sections within the discussion of a particular disease. For example, in discussion about the various inflammatory bowel diseases, it would have the aetiology for Crohn's and Ulcerative colitis, and then the investigation of both and then the treatment of both. I would have found it much more useful to have the complete section on one disease before moving onto the next disease. Otherwise an excellent, extremely easily read text.

Athletic Recruiting and College Scholarship Guide

reader from Jersey
Although his book taught the reader a great deal about the recruiting process, I found it too elementary to read, but I don't think that this is a horrible book. However, I would recommend it to any high schoolers in need of some assistance in getting into a good college and possibly recieving a scholarship. I would also recommend Athletic Scholarships: A Complete Guide.

Good, but only for collectors
This book compiles both "The Book of Chantries" and "Digital Web", older books for Mage: the Ascension, into a single volume. At the time it was released, this book was an excellent deal. Now, it's more for the collector. Digital Web has been revised, and Book of Chantries is good as source material, though you will have to adapt it to the new Revised Edtition ruleset. It's a good book, but you'll have to do some work to make use of it.

Contract Law and Theory, Secondary Materials: Selected

I'm Glad I Had A Good Professor...
This book is fairly difficult, even by law school standards. Having a good professor helped bring this book to life, but I shudder to think about having to work through this book alone or with a mediocre professor. Some of the essays are just too difficult, and some of the cases are unnecessarily long. This book could stand another revision, which, I believe, it is currently undergoing. Until then, I would use another textbook.

This book is about 4 people in the north pole that get lost
The book "A flag at the pole" is pretty good. Its a really cool book. At some times its exciting and at other times it gets boring. The reason i like this book is because it is weird. Its about 4 people that go to the North Pole and get really lost. they are from Britain. Their names are Jack, Maria, Joey, and Beth. They try to get home but they run into a lot of trouble. In the story they run into a polar bear that is really big but they.......... you have to read the book to find out what happens. The book has many exciting parts. I like the polar bear part the best. There are a lot of more problems than what I wrote. They run into deer, storm, and a lot of other things. THis book was pretty fun to review. I am done with the review now so take this book out at the library a.s.a.p. because it is a really great book

Will make a great gift for the christian golfer.
" FOCUS " is a neat little book co-authored by Larry Mize, Loren Roberts and Scott Simpson. Each golfer gives the reader an idea of how to play better golf with simple tips on thier area of expertise. Mize on the Driver/Fairway woods, Simpson on Irons and Roberts on the Short game. The tips are very basic but handy. They will help even the highest of handicaps. But along with the swing advise each one lets you know how became a christian and how their faith helps them on and off the golf course. I think the book would have been much better if they included more on their faith and how they deal with other players on the tour. The book is short and a very quick read. But it is enjoyable. It will make a good gift.

i have seen the wind, and it's cold enough for me
this book opens with blackwood's great story: the wendigo. B is the master of the setting, noone can create the background and atmosphere like him. a very well written story from Brennan here. and Meloff's story is also an interesting read. derleth is at his best here. i don''t care that much for the guy, have never considered him to be HPL's great successor or anything, but he knows how to write, and i have always considered his story about Ithaqua to be his best contribution. the rest of the stories are well written. i don't think any of chaosium's anthologies contains of so much good writing than this. but good is not great. and the rest of the stories never turns out to be really good. the suspence killed by irrelevant writing going on for too long, mostly. sad. but the book is still wort reading

The Last Tycoon
Published in Audio Cassette by Sterling Audio Books (2000)
Authors: F. Scott Fitzgerald and William Roberts
Amazon base price: $39.95
Average review score:

Not Highly Recommended
The book was kind of boring. It wasn't very interesting reading about Hollywood back in the thirties. Adults may get into it more, because they will be a little bit more familiar with the time period. But for teenagers-not very interesting to read. There are alot of names to remeber throughout the book, and you don't know how it really ends, because it is unfinished. You may want to know if one of the characters will get rid of his boring liferstyle, but you never find out. I have not read any other books by this author, but by reading this one first, I don't think I'll read any more of his books.

The Last Tycoon
The Last Tycoon by F. Scott Fitzgerald was more than just another depiction of the Jazz Age. Fitzgerald's theme, corruptive wealth is also present in The Last Tycoon. Even in this unfinished work Fitzgerald portrays the spirit of the age well at the smae time critizes the values of our society.

a clear concise view of Hollywood in the 30's
Fitzgerald's last unfinished novels is one of his best in that his style has evolved from his cluttered previous novels into a clean and unfettered one. Every event that occurs is absolutely vital to the plot. He masters the mood and atmosphere of Hollywood. His protagonist has the same rags to riches story, same charisma, and same leadership qualities as his other characters, Gatsby and Dick Diver. However, Stahr is the more developed character. Even unfinished, this tragic tale has a clear theme and style.
