Hillarious!
This book is worth every second and every cent! I went through it along with my wife and we just could not help but giggle continuously throughout the book! In fact, even when we are in public places, and when we look at other people, we remember some parts of the book and we lapse into uncontrollable giggles!

Murder Will Out: The Long View of History on May 4th, 1970
It's said that the closer you stand to the target, the easier it is to hit it. But in the review and analysis of May 4th, 1970 at Kent State, it appears that the farther away we get, the less passionate and more information we have to judge the event and causes. As the most recent book on the event, this publication should be read and weighed against Michenor's early book, Peter Davies conspiracy book, and the other subsequent books. Only by examining all points of view will we come to our judgement of who fired, why and on what authority. Though we know it was the National Guardsmen who fired without an order from their superiors, we will likely never know the final true story until one of the Guardsmen brakes his silence and tells his story. Until then, this book may be the best account possible.

He who appears greedy will go broke
The emphasis on trying to make money to the exclusion of service will in the long run lead to failure to win or hold clients. Poor advice.

A¿must-read¿ for any recruiter
This is a comprehensive, invaluable resource for every serious recruiter that wants to learn the vocabulary of the business. Written in a no-nonsense style, the author provides practical responses to dozens of real-life sales situations that regularly confront recruiters, such as how to handle client concerns about fees, or how to close candidates who have been offered new jobs. Most of the scripts are presented in alternative versions, so you can pick the ones that feel right and fit your personality. As a recruiter, I've used many of these scripts, and they really work. A"must-read" for any recruiter.

America's Favorite weatherman pens first novel...
To be honest I read this book because I enjoy Willard Scott on NBC's Today's Show and other endeavors. I found the book entertaining and tried to figure out "who done it." It also caught my attention because I too would like to own a B&B somewhere. Perhaps not in Virginia but in upstate New York. All that on the side "Murder Under Blue Skies," was a good read but not what I would call a page turner until near the end when the killer was about to be caught. This was the first Stanley Waters mystery. "Murder in the Midst" which follows is next on my to read list.

Definitely a great weekend or rainy day read!
You can definitely tell that the protagonist (Stanley Waters) was modeled after Willard Scott, but in this his first book (in collaboration with Bill Crider), I think Mr. Scott has a hit. From the opening page where the victim falls face first into a bowl of salsa dip, through the rest of the book in fictional Higgins, Virginia, it is definitely a trip worth making. The characters, despite all their faults and complexities, are fun to follow. This is an excellent first book, and is great if you are looking for a quick, fun read.

I Loved It!
I am thankful for books like this one. I quickly tire of all the sex and violence our society is saturated with daily. It was refreshing to me to read "Murder Under Blue Skies" because I didn't have to worry about vulgar language, gratuitous sex, or unnecessary violence. I enjoyed the easy and relaxing read! Way to go Mr. Scott!!!!!! I look forward to "Murder in the Mist".

Okay Book, Totally Misleading Title
I was really disappointed upon receiving this book, because it just does not deliver what the title promises, e.g. "definitive programs for runners of all ages and levels". And that promise is the only reason I bought it: like so many intermediate runners, I don't have a personal trainer and have lots of questions about my training routine. In the beginning, you just run; but after a year or so, you start wondering: am I training enough, what's the best combination of workouts (slow/fast; long/short etc.)in a given week, what types of workouts that make sense are there... So you can imagine how happy I was when I discovered a book with this title. But there is NOTHING in here to answer that type of question. It's a well-written how-to book, mainly for beginners with lots of injury tips and motivational stuff - but hey, that's in EVERY running book. So I guess it's okay - if you don't have the wrong expectations.

Excellent book. Especially the pages for masters runners.
Since, like the author, I am a runner over the age of 50, I felt this book really provided valuable information on training. I especially liked the discussion on weight training. Bill encourages a moderate approach to lifting, which I agree is better than the more intensive weight training that seems to be the norm these days. I highly recommend this book to runners of all levels.

The Colt Who Had Never Been Ridden
Published in Hardcover by Scythian Books (1995)
Authors: Bill Scott, Suzanne Boggs, and Bill Stott
Amazon base price: $8.95
Average review score:

The emphasis of this story is more religion than horses.
This book is about the animal that carried Jesus into Jerusalem. It might appeal to children with a conservative Christian backgroud. It did not entertain my 11 year old girl who expected a more typical "horse book."

Fantastic book for parents interested in salvation for kids
This book is about Jesus triumphal entry into Jerusalem told through the eyes of the colt that he rode on. The colts name is 'Wafts" which means 'waiting for the Savior". This colt is told by his parents that no one can ever ride you, you are being saved for the Messiah of our people to ride on. The little boy owner can't even ride his own colt because of that. The principles of waiting on the Lord (patience) and obeying your parents and God are taught. Resisting temptation and how to deal with criticism are brought out in this delightful story. In the end, Wafts fulfills his destiny, meeting the Lord and letting the Lord use him. The children are challenged to do the same thing. I recomend this book as a tool to help get the gospel into the hearts of their kids. I rate it a 10 on a scale of 5. Parents, don't miss this one.

Should have been VB.Net Programming with the Public Beta 2..
This book is not based on Visual Studio.Net Final Release!

I have read the book front to back including introduction page. I just realized that the book was based on beta 2 of Visual Studio.Net, too late for a refund. Anyway, I went on to read it and found out that the book was not very much organised as tons of '...we'll discuss this on chapter xx ... ' appear no less than 5 times in a single chapter (on some chapters). Mispelled words also are catching enough to say that this book was in a hurry to be printed.

If you're looking for a book that covers thorough details on window forms and web form control howtos, this wouldn't give you enough detail on those topics. Web Services is equally a mere introduction, with about two pages of discussion on UDDI as well as WSDL. Not much on ADO.Net and XML.

I should have borrowed this book instead and skim through it or should have bought it for 20 bucks less. Besides, it's already outdated. I hope the same authors would come up with a second edition that has richer detail...and send me a free copy.

WROX site shows this as out of print
I was planning on buying this book and noticed the out of print note on the Wrox site. Not exactly sure what out of print means.
Looks like other books based on the betas say out of print on the Wrox site.
If this book was released in August 2001 then it should have been based on the beta. They might plan on releasing an updated version.

Best book so far for VB.NET
I'd say this is the best Professional VB.NET book so far. I like the the ADO.NET part and VB control part of this book. Better than O'really ASP and VB book.

This is a very simple book
If you have a computer degree and if you are not new to computer programming then this book is not for you. Anybody who has have experienced with any microsoft technologies before reading this book will find it extremely useless. Its a lot better to go through the books of windows architecture then this book. Those books will give you real insight but this book won't.

5 Stars from a PM & 2 Stars from a Sr. Developer
The author's review is accurate. This book is not for senior architect's, MCSDs, etc. This is a good reference book for a jr. developer or pm trying to get a grasp of DNA & MSF. The upside is a one-stop high-level reference of most of the Microsoft technologies. The downside is that you must buy another book that provides more granularity of a technology such as ASP or XML. This book will provide sufficient information to determine which technologies to pursue from the vast world of DNA development.

Good Management
Programmer geeks won't like this book because it's not full of code and nauseating technical detail, but if you're a PM, VP, or CIO and moving your company's technology into the Microsoft Solution Space, this book is a great jump-start. It's an easy read (I read the bulk of it on a cross country flight) and provides a pretty complete high-level view of all the Microsoft piece-parts. Overall, I'd call this a book that needed to be written.
