In 7 large steps the writers show the reader the basics of production planning. Master planning, inventory management, MRP, capacity management, production activity control, JIT and the theory of constraints are explained, not only as basic statements, but also including some standard calculation approaches. 1991, the first production computer systems were introduced, but this book stays at the basic. Excellent
How could any book of essays by today's leading philosophers and thinkers not be absolutely excellent--and this one is!

An outstanding anthology of original thought and analysis.
Ralph McInery (Michael P. Grace Professor of Medieval Studies at the University of Notre Dame) was the author of numerous works in philosophy, literature, and journalism whose clear, persistent, and creative defenses of natural theology and natural law helped to establish a dialogue between theists and non-theists, a dialogue that contributed to the moral and political renewal of American culture in general, and providing some of the philosophical foundations for Catholic theology in particular. Recovering Nature: Essays In Natural Philosophy, Ethics, and Metaphysics in Honor of Ralph McInery brings together essays by an impressive group of scholars that includes William Wallace, O.P.; Jude P. Dougherty; John Haldane; Thomas DeKonick; Alasdair MacIntrye; David Solomon; Daniel McInerny; Janet E. Smith; Michael Novak; Stanley Hauerwas; Laura Garcia; Alvin Plantinga; Alfred J. Freddoso; and David B. Burrell, C.S.C. Recovering Nature is an outstanding anthology of thought and a fitting tribute honoring a most distinguished scholar, educator, and theologian of the Catholic faith.

H.W. Janson is Dead
Finally. A well thought out and well executed book about a major movement in American art that is often dismissed as being one dimensional. Dennis' introspective look into the most revered "Regionalist" artists not only offers engaging scholarship, but a very good education in American social history as well. A must read for anyone who thinks they know what "Regionalism" is.

A need to rethink the 'Regionalism' of the Regionalists
This book makes you rethink any ideas you might have about Regionalism. Whether you agree with James Dennis or not is up to you, but he certainly does bring up some very interesting ideas. The basic ideas of the Regionalism school are initially laid out for the reader, and from this beginning it is already possible to see the weak foundation of the very definition of "Regionalism," as it was defined NOT by the artists, but by their critics and the public. The sterotyping generalities inherent in this 'school' set the stage for Dennis' questioning of the similarities of the work of Thomas Hart Benton, Grant Wood, and John Steurat Curry, the triumvirate of Regionalism. The author proceeds to explicate the inherent differences between the 3 artists' work, as well as the eventually obvious flawed general definition of "Regionalism." Dennis breaks down his discussions into realism vs. abstraction, realistic subject matter vs. fantasies, the ideas of nationalism and fascism in the artists' work, their varying depictions of women, and finally compares the three Regionalists to three contemporary modernists, Charles Demuth, Charles Sheeler, and Marsden Hartley. Dennis concludes with the assertion that the so-called "Regionalists" are in many ways more "modern" than their modernists contemporaries. The book has plenty of pictures, sadly only in black and white, and thus the book is a surprisingly quick read. Each chapter is thorough however, and must be studied to be fully understood. The reader should have some art historical background, and some knowledge of the history of the first half of the 20th century. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Regionalism, and the history of American art. Makes you think.

Fantastic book on Shakespeare
This winter break I went on a Shakespeare buying spree, and this book is one of the fine gems I found. A large, but fascinating book, this work of great scholarship and excitement takes the reader on a whirlwind tour of Shakespeare, even into rather obscure corners of his works (Trollius and Cressida, Timon of Athens). This book is a must read for any would be deep thinker about Shakespeare.

The New Shakespeareans
Shakespeare as Political Thinker is a must for everyone interested in the political thought of William Shakespeare. This reprint will finally allow new comers to become familair with a commonsensical approach to Shakespeare's plays. The introductory chapter by John Alvis is worth the price. Perhaps the best Shakespearean critic alive, Alvis has an uncanny ability to show Shakespeare's moral seriousness without making the bard an unquestioning adherent to any political school or theological creed. Many of the essays that follow are also well done: Jaffa's chapter on Shakespeare's entire corpus, Laurence Berns' meditation on Lear etc.

The second printing of Shakespeare as Political Thinker gives hope to those interested in relearning ancient wisdom and pays tribute to its inspiration, Shakespeare's Politics (Allan Bloom).

Excellent companion to standard American history textbook
I decided to use this book as a companion reader in a course in American history this year. This series of essays, which consist primarily of topics in social history, are an excellent complement to our very traditional textbook, which stresses political and diplomatic history. The authors of the essays are top names in the field, and the student response to the essays has been fantastic. I highly recommend this book as a teaching aide!

Excellent Collection of Readings
The Social Fabric presents a detailed array of readings insocial history for any United States History course. The readingsspecifically encourage two main revelations: U.S. History has many more interesting stories than the textbooks reveal and the historian's craft is much more complex than many students admit. The anthology is entirely engaging with details about daily life and customs. This book makes great general reading and should be required for all U.S. History courses.

Astonishing phenomenon by the legendary S.O.R.R.A.T.
A detailed journey through the footsteps of the SORRATS. John Thomas Richards opens the door and takes you into this psychokinensis phenomenon, establishing the necessary rapport and the incrediable results of this ongoing research.

Fascinating--JTR's significant work on psychokinesis
John Thomas Richard has written a truly valuable work on the subject of psychokinesis, while shedding much light on his mentor, John Neihardt--author of Black Elk Speaks. JTR is a compassionate, brave, and generous man, qualities which surface in many of his moving and well written descriptions of Neihardt, Neihardt's Skyrim Farm, of psychics he has known, and, most important, of the value of seeking harmony in our relationships with people, nature, and one's self.

Unger's Intricate Piece of Work
With an excellent array of notes explaining his decisions in translating the thirty-one chapters of Book One of Irenaes's Against the Heresies, Unger has produced an admirable and accessible scholarly edition. Any translation is simultaneously an interpretation, and Unger has elucidated his choices in a minute and clear manner. Moreover, his introduction is quite helpful in setting the scene regarding Irenaeus's audience, style, and purpose.

One line made me buy!
To anyone interested in reading up on the earliest of heresies, this is the book for them! Heresy is when a post-baptized Catholic, in Christ, turns from the original teachings of the Catholic church of Christ, and decides to accept the man-made doctrines of other denominations by excluding the Sacred Traditions of our fathers (appointed by Christ). The bible warns of man-made doctrines! Protestantism and it's branch offs, accepts man made traditions (ie. scripture only). In turning to these new, truly man-made doctrines, they have chosen to divorce the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church that is Christ's. To be Catholic and then turn from it, is divorce. Protestants of course allow members to divorce and remarry. It's ironic that this is how their church was started. Rather than staying in the marriage and fixing it, divorce is chosen. However, Jesus promised HIS church to be one and united. For those in search of the real truth, the true Church of Christ, one needs only to search the history of the first actual, physical church of Christ to accept the Sacred value of the Catholic Church traditions. This book is just what the physician (Jesus) orders. Find out where the traditions came from and how Heresies began. In this book, Irenaeus proceeds to list the succession of the Bishops of Rome to his own day! He adds that "in this order, and by this succession, the ecclesiastical TRADITION from the apostles, and the preaching of truth have come down to us" I say, the study of Church history, is the end of Protestantism! Read! Your salvation depends on it!! The Catholic Church is the ONLY church NOT founded by a sinner! Do the research! Start here!

Superb work of reference
This concise medical dictionary is not concise at all: it gives all the information one needs, accompanied by very clear and informative drawings and pictures and it even gives the reader the correct pronunciation of the word. The alphabet tags on the side of the book (they give the first two letters of the words on that page rather than only the first letter) are a major help for a quick reference.

I am "only" a biomedical scientist and not an M.D., but this book is very important in my daily work to understand all those sometimes hopelessly complicated medical terms that I encounter in articles and correspondence. I can imagine that this book can also be very useful for M.D.s en medical students to look up the terms they do not encounter every day.

Great book.
It's all you'll every need. Trust me.
