John Brown Rose and the Midnight Cat

A special book
This is a very tender book, with love and understanding children and adults can relate to. Ideal for ages 2 and up.

A Quiet and Wonderful Story
John Brown is a large shaggy dog living contentedly with Rose. When a cat arrives needing food and love, Rose is ready to open her heart and home to the new arrival, but John Brown has a very hard time sharing Rose, and watching Rose take care for someone else. By the book's end, John Brown has changed. In simple words and marvelous pictures, this book helps children - and the adults reading to them - consider a difficult and complicated emotion: jealousy. The perfect book to help children get ready for a baby brother or sister, it's too bad it isn't easier to find.

A Book of Life
Have you been there?--that time and place when your life isinterrupted due soley to the illness of a loved-one--that time andplace when you have to drop your busy schedules, put away hobbies, and quit jobs, just to take care of someone who needs you? Have you had to dig deep into your soul to find the resources of faith that will provide you the sustenance needed to carry out an insurmountable task? If you have, then you know what it means to care for a terminally ill patient.

"The Rose Beyond the Wall" goes beyond a children's book, it has a message for parents as well, a message that suggests we often dimiss our children from tragic times by neither giving them ear nor allowing them to help. Rachel, who is the protagonist in this story, is a forthright young lady. She is confident that her relationship with her Grandmother is sufficient to guide her in her actions. These actions create a three-way bond between Her (Rachel) her Grandmother, and you the reader.

"The Rose Beyond the Wall", is an excellent book for children who may be in a similar position as Rachel. Whether the terminally ill person is at home or the hospital, this book can surely help youth understand illness and death.

My belief is that the best adult reading is in childrens' books because it is there that we are reminded of the pure and simple truths of life, and it is there that we find that the rose does truly bloom beyond the wall.

It was great i loved reading it and would read it again.
I had to read a book for a book report and I usually I hate having to finish the book but with this book I couldn't put it down it was so good I loved it and I can't wait to get it so I can read it again and again.

Florida Travel Smart by Wilson & et al
What a delightful volume ! I live on Florida's Sun Coast and was so pleased to find its virtues extolled with such a succint and easily read book. I was amazed at how much local lore I had missed that was right in my own backyard.

The maps and clear directions make this an invaluable aid to anyone choosing our fair state

Refreshing new travel guide to Florida
This is a wonderful down-to-earth guide book. In addition to the better known tourist attractions, the writers tell you about the lesser known attractions, such as museums, natural attractions, some history, the arts, etc. This book has something for everyone, from the nature lover to the theme park lover; it's for people who like to camp, and those who'd rather stay at pricey hotels. Check out the special interest tours in the back, they're great!

Highly recommended
This is another in the American Girls Short Stories series about Addy Walker, a ten-year-old African-American girl living in the America of 1865. Addy gets a surprise when the railway company her father works for gives her family passes so that they can visit him in Cape Island, New Jersey. The experience begins to sour, though, as Addy finds herself confronted on every side by racism. When a little white girl pours abuse on Addy, she wishes her ill from the bottom of her heart, but later she sees the other girl's impoverished life, and begins to feel different.

The final chapter of this book has an interesting look at Cape Island (later Cape May), New Jersey, and some fun and easy directions for making your own vanilla ice cream! As with all of Connie Porter's Addy books, this one is great! The author successful shows the pain and hurt of racism, but succeeds in turning it into an upbeat and hopeful story. My twelve-year-old daughter loves her Addy doll, and loves this book. We both recommend the book to you very highly!

The Athletic Horse
An excellent book for students of degree level. Not suitable for the novice. During my studies I have found this to be an outstanding reference book and an indispensible aid to writing assignments. The book is detailed scientifically but is easy to follow and has plenty of studies done to back up the information given. A top class book.

Make Your Relationship the Best it Can Be
Daphne Rose Kingma has written many wonderful books about love, and this one, titled simply, "LOVE," easily stands out from the rest as a book that can guide you to becoming more loving in your primary relationship. This is the perfect book for couples who feel stuck, and don't know what to do to "bring the magic back," or who would like to learn to navigate through hardships better, or simply learn to relate to one another. Every chapter is short, full of loving compassion, and incredibly thought-provoking.

The six sections in this book are a little like layers on an onion; they start with the basics of learning to love yourself, say loving words, and listen to your beloved -- and then they move into more intimate places of sharing fears, fighting a good fight, and trusting one another -- and then into the really deep layers of finding meaning and enhancing intimacy. Kingma's writing voice sounds to me a lot like a friendly spiritual guide -- someone who clearly has been through everything she writes about, and offers excellent advice.

This book is ideal for anyone who wishes to work on relating through love and connecting more fully to their loved one -- and it is the kind of book to share and discuss with your beloved as you work together to make your relationship the best it can possibly be.
