needs to be updated
Although good, It does not have documentation on Access Point 1200 and new authentication mechanisms such as PEAP etc. Otherwise has some good details, in additon to documentation that can also be found on Cisco website. Recommend not to buy until new edition comes out and it gets updated.

A must have for WLAN configs
Like many people, I set up my first wireless network without any instruction. I used the cheapest equipment available. As you read or reference sections in this book, you realize that by using good quality equipment you increase reliability and services within your WLAN.

The book is clearly written and is easy to use as a reference. That said, I have read the book from cover to cover.

The book gives detailed information about settings on Cisco devices such as the 340 and 350 series. Although the wireless field - specifically IEEE 802.11b - is changing rapidly, this book contains information that is great for intermediate to advanced wireless network installers.

Excellent review of Cisco WLANs!
While this book is slightly out of date (Cisco has released some new WLAN equipment since it was published), it still presents a wealth of information on Cisco WLAN components. Even if you are totally new to the field of WLANs, the book spends the first two chapters covering WLAN technology and concepts. After that, you are off to the races with Cisco specific products. The reamining seven chapters covers network design, wireless bridges, access points, client adapters, WLAN security and accessories. A great deal of information. In addition, if you are interested in obtaining either or both of the Cisco WLAN specialization certifications (WLAN Field Engineer and WLAN Design Engineer), then I can say from experience that this book is a must read to help pass the tests. Once again, another great book from Syngress!

An unsung hero, Bob Moses
This book gives Bob Moses the attention his life deserves. You should also check out The Children Bob Moses Led by William Heath. It's a novel that blends fact with fiction to tell the story of Moses and Freedom Summer.

A TRUE AMERICAN HERO
IN this time of increased jingosim and nationalism, when dissent is called dishonor and treason[by the current Attorney General of the United States}, this book is like a balm. Robert Parris Moses is a certifiable HERO,and is a character drawn almost by his philosophical champion, the great Algerian exixtentialist and Noble Laurete, Albert Camus. Moses went to Mississippi in the early 1960's, in Mccomb county and began the torturous process of registering people to vote.Slight, in his horn rimmed glasses, with white T shirt under his bib overalls, Moses tirelessly and fearlessly went up against crooked judges, Klukers and corrupt and racist law enforcement, and slowly[with the eventual aid of the Justice department and John Doar, who ,though a republican, was also the justice dept. lead lawyer in the impeachment proceedings against President Richard m. Nixon}, registered voters, and changed the shape of american history. With his backround in philosophy}[from Harvard} and a steely determination to do the right thing, Moses at times singlehandely carried on, living with local balck families in Hamlets throught Mississippi. One of the few memebers of the civil rights movement was was not in the least bit awed by Martin Luther King,jr.[perhaps beacuse he knew himself to be the equal of any man} he sallied forth under pressure and fear that I literally cannot comprehend. this is a fine book about a period of american history that should be celebrated, not consigned to february alone. It was a tuime when politicians thought they could "possibly" cahnge things, and far more importantly, when people such as Mr. Moses felt it was imperative for they themselves to change things. My Admiration for Mr.Moses is second to no one. He, along with John Lewis, are certifiable living heroes, men who make me proud to be american. This book, then is one way to get to know this great, yes, great man. HIGHEST POSSIBLE RECOMMENDATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Encouraging and Uplifting!
I found this book very encouraging and it gave me a whole new perspective in understanding Down Syndrome. Being a new mother of a baby with Down Syndrome, I can relate to much of this and I am glad to see it gets easier.

Wonderful story of unconditional love
Eric's Gift is the story of a small boy with a loving heart and the family that learns what unconditional love really means. Kimberly Thompson is the mother of Eric, a little boy with Down syndrome, and this book is the journal of her first two years being Eric's mom. Kimberly takes us on a roller coaster ride of emotions as she records the fear, anger, happiness, and love she experiences. Finally, the little boy with a congenital heart defect gives her the greatest gift; he teaches her to love unconditionally. This book is the gift that Kimberly gives us. Through it she shows us that we are not alone and that other parents are experiencing the same emotions.

Quitter's Inc.

Stephen King tells YOU how to quit smoking for good...
Psychologists, chemists, and other scientists have all endeavored to find various ways of helping people to quit smoking. But it takes a master of horror like Stephen King to come up with a foolproof way for getting addicted smokers to stop that the world is just not ready yet to accept. That is the simple genius of "Quitter's Inc." the classic King short story read by Eric Roberts. Dick Morrison is trying once again to stop smoking and on a tip from a friend shows up at the doors of Quitter's Inc."

"Quitter's Inc." is a one-joke story, but King comes up with a great joke. The company has a shockingly simple way of "persuading" smokers to quit with contingencies for each and every occasion. Dick might think he can outsmart Quitter's Inc., but he does not stand a chance, and that is what makes this story a treat. Because this is a Stephen King story there is an assumption that the motivation because this successful program is obviously fear, but King explicitly points to another emotion, declaring: "Love is the most pernicious drug of all. Let the romantics debate its existence. Pragmatists know it and use it."

An audiotape with a single short story on it seems a bit sparse, but there is a pragmatic reason for this approach. If you want somebody you know who smokes to read this story as a way of inspiring them to quit, you can certainly tied them to chair, but you cannot make them read something they do not want to read. With this audiotape you can make them listen, as long as their hands are tied in such a way that they cannot cover their ears. You could, of course, simply read the story out loud to them yourself, but chances are you are not as good as Erik Roberts. Besides, if you are reading the book you cannot keep an eye on them to make sure they do not struggle free from their bonds.

great short story
GREAT BOOK...THIS SHORT STORIE DESERVES TO BE MADE INTO A FEATURE FILM...IT HAS GREAT POTENTIAL. JSUT LIKE MOST OF THE SHORT STORIES FROM THE NIGHT SHIFT COLLECTION, QUITTERS INC GIVES THE READER A NICE CHANGE OF PACE ALWAYS UTILIZING KING'S OWN SINGULAR STYLE...I RECOMMEND THIS COMPILATION OF SHORT STORIES TO BE READ BY READERS WHO ARE NOT VERY FAMILIAR WITH KINGS STYLE....

a sure-fire way to quit smoking
I'm not a smoker, but this story helped me understand what smokers really go through when they try to quit. Even with his wife and his son on the line, the main character still reaches for his cigarettes. A great story.

poem
Fop Flop In the most elegant apparel Nothing but worm silks In the finest golden thread And superior king red velvet sashes

You'd think I would have known better? I couldn't blame them who wouldn't? cut air with scissors while sewing their needles into invisible cloth for the very low price of..... silk a loom golden thread a full bag of coins Oh those Villain Scoundrels! Now, I know not to buy such vestments with rather large investments Oh what a bratty gnatty I was For I thought I was cool but truly a fool Why emperor you look rather bare, that's quite rare! I was in such a pursuit For only a birthday suit I must admit now Me, My very own self yes indeed, your emperor himself have become a stupid and incompetent dandy All for the Imaginary Image! and now I live happily ever after, no more garb well, that is until the next apparel discovery (Now if you'll excuse me there's a clothier waiting at my door who says he's created the latest design in Pajama attire)

A delightful gem
Generally, I do not care for audio books; many of the readers speak in a dull voice that rapidly drives me either away from the story or to sleep. However, there are a few exceptions; this is one.

Understand, that this is not the normal audio book; this edtion has a large cast of actors who collaborated to produce this item as a fund raiser for Starbright.

The result is an ensemble piece that is witty and charming. Part of the fun for me, was guessing who was reading before looking at the cast list included in the box.

Other folks feel that this isn't for children; I don't know as I don't have children, but I found that my "inner child" was highly entertained for 40 minutes with this tape.

If you are a fan of one or more of the actors in this edition or like puns (there are many here!), then you will probably like the Starbright edtion of the Emporer's New Clothes.

Helped my son to read
I had been given 2 of these books from a friend and I decided to see if there were anymore. My son loves this book. He's now working on reading the adult side. It's a great idea to have a page each, 1 for the adult and 1 for the child. We have several of these books now and I see my son sitting down and reading them on his own.

What I Didn't Know
This book is great. It not only provided me with numerical statistics on colleges, but it also gave students' commentaries on colleges. The only thing it didn't do -- and it's not a fault, but not in the scope of this book -- is explain what the basic philosophy of college education is supposed to be all about in the USA. It's what I didn't know, and I think what most people don't know. For that, I found and read an interesting book called "West Point" by Norman Thomas Remick. It was important because it saved me from making lifetime mistakes down the road when I got into the nitty-gritty of specific colleges. You should read it. Then, dig into "The Best 331 Colleges". It's definitely a five star reference guide.

What a helpful book!!!
This book goes even more indepth than the Princeton Review's web site. How they talk to not just the people that run the colleges, they also talk to current students. Also, how they rate the different schools is very interesting. A great buy for selecting a college!!!!

The Ultimate College Search Book
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is beginning his or her college search. It not only gives you the facts, but student opinions too. That combination is the best jumping off point to make your college choice. You won't need another college reference book as long as you have this one.

I have recently graduated from the college I found using this book. I probably never would have made the choices I did or attended the college I did, if it hadn't been for this book. I am completely happy with my college choice, and it has gotten me into Harvard for graduate school.

When I began my college search, I felt overwhelmed by all of my choices. After buying this book, I narrowed my search to only the colleges listed in this book. I figured 306 (a lot less in my day than the 331 of today) colleges provided enough choices, and if a school didn't make the cut for the book, it could be skipped in my search. From that point I began looking at schools that kept popping up in the lists for good things (students happy with financial aid, dorms like palaces, schools run like butter, happy students, etc). I never thought I'd attend a women's college, but after I saw all the wonderful things students had to say about their own women's colleges, I started to visit a few. In the end, I attended the school that first drew my interest in this book.

Again, with this book, you won't need any of the other books out there. This one will be the most valuable resource in your college search.

The very best diet program ever...
Not since Slender Now has a weight-loss program delivered such fast and effective weight loss while drmatically changingmuscle tone, without exercise, hunger pangs, nervousness and irritability.Other diets don't work. Any weight loss is usually water and mucle and not fat at all. I used to feel irritable, hungry and tired all the time. Not with Atkins. My blood pressure has dropped along wth my weight. Trigicerides and cholesterol also lower. Muscle tones very noticably improved without exercise.I also love Dr. Atkins meal replacement shakes and bars. The shake is the best since Slender Now. The other diet shakes I have tried, were too high in carbs, too low in protein and didn't supply enough nutrition. Dr. Atkins program and supplements do.I wholeheartily recommend the Atkins Diet if you want results without compromising your heath and vitality.Using the supplements makes the program work faster. The shakes taste great and are easily mixed in water. Ideal for the lactose intolerant. You won't get hungy and you will actually lose fat, not just weight. You'll feel invigorated.Need I say any more?Great program. Try it, you'll like it. I love it.

I disagree with JH422 - Atkins is for everyone
and layoff the vegetables. The myth of eating "lots of vegetables" is like the myth of high carbs/high fiber. It doesn't work for weight loss. Consume veggies-YES, but only on a modified basis and watch the carb count.Obviously some people haven't read the book and don't understand the system.I highly recommend that all serious dieters reread the Atkins Diet book and contact Atkins for any questions. While I am not an Atkins employee, I do have a lot of respect for this program - I lost 48 lbs using Atkins so yes, I am a believer and a very grateful student. While losing weight, I noticed a big improvement in my hair, skin tone, nails. There was a rapid tightening of the skin even without exercise. So yes, I am a believer. The reason that people fail with Atkins, I believe, is by trying to reinvent the wheel and subscribing to old wives tales like you have to have carbs and a lot of veggies. Perhaps you guys missed the article in the NY Times a few weeks back.Keep in mind, that the whole basis of the Atkins program is to reduce carbs so your body goes to it's fat stores for energy. If you are taking in carbs with veggies, your body is getting needed energy from an outside source and this will hinder the results of the program. The rate that a person will lose weight is based on a number of factors including metabolism, level of activity, age and even gender. I am a female in my 40's but still was able to lose 48 lbs with Atkins. On the other hand, I have known others in my same age group or even younger who lost at a much slower rate. I did take a herbal diet capsule and other supplements in addition to Atkins and drank a lot of water. I also joined an Aerobic class after I dropped my first 15 lbs. and found that my energy soared from the Atkins program.Today we live in an instant society where a person who has been overweight for years wants to be slim in a week or 2 or 1 month max. LADIES and gentlemen, you need to be patient and not just dismiss the program. And even as a 40-something female, I find it hard to believe that anyone can follow induction for a full month and not lose, that is without secretly cheating. Sorry, I don't buy that at all. One of the things that I suggest to friends who are getting slow results is to go back on induction for another 14 days (after going to the ongoing program) then get off induction for for awhile and get back on. This is what I did to lose that 48 lbs. along with getting on some supplements.Atkins is for everyone.

Atkins rules! The only way to lose fat
First of all, let me say that I am very glad that what Dr. Atkins has been promoting for over 30 years has finally been accepted as both safe and effective.Prior to Atkins, I tried the high fiber, high carb programs and felt stringy, lost weight but stayed fat.I became a "warrior" and went to the gym, did the best I could considdering how out of shape I was, lost a few pounds, toned up a little but the results were far too slow so I quit.I tried one of the over the counter diet shakes. Nothing. Tried the "fat burners" had a huge increase in energy but was up half the nite and had the jitters. As a last resort I tried Atkins. Several days---nothing. I continued for 7 days. Still nothing in weight loss based on my bathroom scale, but did notice my pants were looser and I loved eating eggs, steaks, chops and cheese again. Finally around the start of the third week, I started to lose. First 5 lbs. Then 8 lbs. Then 10 lbs. I noticed in the mirror that I looked tighter and my pants were a lot looser now. I didn't measure but figure I lost any easy 1 1/2 to 2 waistline inches.I was starting to get tired of eggs every morning so started to take a shake in place of breakfast. Noticed it tasted good and mixed with water.I also added the Vit/Min, Oil and weight-loss accelerator products. By this time, I had noticed that my skin was tighter and smoother. I had high energy. No mid morning let down and no hunger pangs.Dieting was no longer a drudgery. I have since started going to the gym again. One of the guys at the gym said, "Wow Louie you look great must be working out like crazy huh." I told him that I was just starting back but was on the Atkins Diet. Two other gm members are now on Atkins. As another reviewer commented, most diets don't work. Any weight loss is usually lean tissue (muscle) and water and very little fat. Most diets lead to deprivation. Most people who are on diets are easily identifiable: they look haggard, tired, are always hungry and also irritable. My weight loss came slow, I believe because I messed my metabolism up with other diets and plans. The thermogenic plans especially speed up your metabolism and when you stop...look out.I loved the Atkins diet. It is such a pleasure to be losing Fat, not just weight and putting good things into my body. Oh, my complexion which had been a problem for a long time has cleared up.A friend tried to steer me away from Atkins and started on this high Ketosis thing. ... I told him to read the book and asd him if he saw the NY Times article and told him to try it. This guy has always been thin but now (in his 50's) has to run 3-4 miles every day, is in good shape for a 50 year old, but how many have the desire or abiity to run 3-4 miles every day? I know I don't.I recommend the Atkins diet wholeheartily and believe it is the perfect answer to looking better and living longer.

Ninja it's Not
If you loved Ninja then prepare to be disappointed. None of the fascinating detail that made Ninja such a page turner. Minor moments when describing the world of Heta I, a South American healing art that stores power in stones. Lew Croaker's biomechanical hand has more of a personality then Lew, and is much more fascinating.

Twisted plot involving South American magic, South Florida sleaziness, black market human organs, and secret government agenices.

Although I read this book to the end, I can't say I recommend it.

not for a lustbader fan
the books of mr.Lustbader have something different from the others:a way of seeing things unusual. This book has nothing like this.By far his best ones were JIAN and SHAN.Anyway,i'm still one of his fans

Croacker gets by without Nicholas Linnear
Despite of the lack of exotic settings and having a more ordinary hero, this novel is still a page-turner, thanks to the complexity of its charachters. Croaker ends up being a much more intersting person than Nicholas Linnear (who is something of a demi-god by now), however, DH lacks the thrilling changes of location in time and space characteristic of former novels. It's on the whole a fine novel, but I would suggest Mr, Lustbader to improve his Spanish spelling and grammar, there are lots of mistakes which undermine the credibility of the Spanish-speaking characters.
