Bird Life in Wington
I read this book as a child and re-read it everytime I visited my grandmother's farm. It never fails to delight people of all ages in communicating the Christian based parables within it.
I was sorry to see that it is no longer in print. It is timeless.

Not for the birds
Hooray! I read this book almost 40 years ago and I am so happy to see it again. It contains great parables that kids of all ages will be able to relate to and remember. The issues are timeless and parents would be well advised to read it to and with their children.

Corn Invaders: A Hunter's Tale
John W Reynold's book 'Corn Invaders' is thoughtful and incisive. The hunter/hunted is an apt metaphoric approach to the philosophical questions of life and death. The book is mystical and magical--surrealistic enough for the reader to shift into the subliminal realm of real truths.

Reynold's hunter, Man-in-White, is bold, but brave; a cut above Everyman. He is a hero, who in the Age of Anti-Heroes, returns triumphant to assume his mythic/inspirational place in a conflicted society.

The book is a good one. It is provocative; of considerable content. I hope to read more books from this talented writer.

The Corn Invaders Is Worth Harvesting
John W. Reynolds' book, The Corn Invaders, is a story that details human emotions, life struggles and triumphs, and confronting ones own demons. Reynolds' knowledge and detail of outdoor life convinces the reader that he is a near expert of the wildlife and plantlife of his home state Michigan. He has a strong command of the English language which makes for easy, yet exciting reading. The Corn Invaders is a triumph for this first time published author. I highly recommend this book. Curl up with it on a snowy evening and you can almost live the tale through the eyes, ears, and emotions of the "Man-In-White".

Andre Citroen: The Man and the Motor Cars

you'll be impressed
For those with even a passing interest in Citroen cars or the company's founder this book will prove educational and fascinating. The Citroen car, though scarce in the US, is always reverred by automotive journalists, when they are forced to write about the cars. For instance, Autoweek Magazine's inclusion of Citroens in their greatest cars of the century issue. Okay the book, it is well written unlike so many auto books; entertaining, full of interesting info about Andre Citroen's unlikely role as auto entrepreneur, and Paris and France. Mostly, you will be very impressed by the relatively unknown (in USA) Citroen company's major contributions to automotive engineering and efforts in World War II. If you consider yourself knowledgable of cars, include this book and you never refer to a Citroen as an ugly car again. I read this book at the library and probably will buy my own copy.

Terrific!
The Spitzers were three World War II rescue commandos, brave and fearless and their greatest accomplishment was saving the life of General Britt. After the war was over, the General invited them to come live with him, his housekeeper, Mrs Wilson and her son, Walter, in his house on Felton Street. And they all live happily together for many years. Sadly, General Britt passed away, leaving the house to the three, now very old warriors. That is until the letter came. The General's nasty nephew, Ralph, claims he's the heir to the General's estate and is giving the Spitzers, Mrs Wilson and Walter one week to get out. But Walter will have none of this. He is determined to find a way to save the house for his "family" and stop Ralph from throwing them out. He tells the Spitzers, "We're not giving up this house without a fight." So begins General Butterfingers, John Reynolds Gardiner's fast paced, action packed story, that will delight and amuse even the hardest to please readers. Gardiner has filled his book with great characters, lots of dialogue and funny, vivid scenes that will keep kids turning pages to the end, as they watch Walter lead the Spitzers into one last battle. This is the perfect book for kids aged 9-12 and a wonderful read-aloud story the whole family will enjoy.

Great Practical Uses
I borrowed this book and found that the various essays about writing in the workplace and teaching writing in the workplace had great practical applications to my daily writing activities at work. While I had an academic reason for my interest in this book, I am now going to buy my own copy!

Helpful sample documents illustrate concepts; great topics such as "Consulting in a Bureaucracy" is helpful in navigating any bureaucracy. "What Adult Work-World Writers...." gives great examples about styles to avoid, etc.

Going into management? You might want this book!

Towards Gettysburg: A Biography of General John F. Reynolds
Published in Hardcover by Butternut Pr (1988)
Author: Edward J. Nichols
Amazon base price: $30.00
Buy one from zShops for: $59.50
Average review score:

Carefully researched and entertaining biography.
Nichols has presented a well researched biography of a man who commanded the respect and the admiration of an army. The men who fought under him called him "Old Common Sense." They were willing to follow him into Hell itself, and they did. John F. Reynolds was professionally remote, militarily a genius, and personally a shy quiet man. Nichols brings Reynolds to warm life once again in this entertaining and well written biography. You will feel as if you know this general who turned down command of the entire Army of the Potomac, only to die a month later leading a regiment into combat because "that's where he was most needed." You will stand beside the Confederate prisoners of war who rose to their feet in silent respect as the dead Reynolds was carried past them. An inspiring picture of a man whose death made an army pause to weep.

An excellent book for general surgeons
I think this book will fill a gap in the surgery of uppergastrointestinal system. It is a specific work of art about esophagusand stomach cancer. It gives excellent and extended information about the staging ,surgical manegement, mechanisms of occurance, radiotheraphy and chemotherapy of esophageal and gastric cancers.I think it is important to predict that it reviewed the Japanese and Western experiences of both gastric and esophageal cancers. It also has extensive chapters about complications and palliations of both organ cancers. The chapters about early gastric carcinoma and gastric lymphoma are superior works.I congratulate the writers for this excellent book.
