Froggy Goes to School
Froggy is a young frog that is exited to do anything. I think Froggy goes to School is a great story for little kids in their toddler years (mostly for ages 3-7). This story is about a young frog and his first day of school. Froggy wakes up one morning and finds that he was running late for the bus and he don't want to miss his first day so he runs out the door and then when he gets on the bus his friends start to laugh at him because... Froggy forgot to get dressed he was on the bus in his boxers and then when he got to school his teacher called his name and only it was not his teacher it was his father calling him to get dressed school was starting soon. It was all a dream "bubble bubble, Toot toot, Chicken, Airplane, Soldier." To find out what this has to do with Froggy's first day of school read this story it's a Darn Tooting good one. And remember read 20 minutes a day. Thank you for reading this review. Have a good day.

Froggy GoesTo School
The book Froggy Goes To School is a great childrens book. It is about the main character Froggy is having a dream that he showed up one day at school in his underwear. Then his is awoken by his dad. Froggy thought it was an actually day when it wasn't. After his dad wakes him up, he gets dressed and off to his first day of school he went.
If kids were to read this book, it would make them realize how much fun school really is. At school Froggy and his friends start to sing a song that goes a little something like this " Bubble bubble, toot toot. Chiken, Airplane, Soldier. " Then his teacher walks in and Froggy thinks he is going to get in trouble, but his principal starts to dance and sing right along with the rest of them. This book shows that going to school isn't as bad as kids make it out to be.
I would definitely recommend this book to any children who are not really interested in going to school.

It's Time For School and Froggy's On His Way.....
It's Froggy's first day of school and this ever enthusiastic little amphibian can't wait. He gets dressed, eats his flies and milk, catches the school bus and has no trouble finding his very own desk with his very own name on it. He's so thrilled to be able to read his name, the first word, he realizes, that he can read, that he reads it again and again, louder and louder and even louder, until his teacher informs him that he needs to keep his voice down and that it's time to be quiet and pay attention. But it's hard for him to sit still and listen and take turns, so hard, in fact that while looking out the window and day dreaming, he falls off his chair. His teacher gently reminds him to stay in his seat and that he'll be able to sit on the floor at circle time. When circle time finally arrives, Froggy has his moment. While telling the class about how he learned to swim during the summer, he starts to sing and dance, laugh and hop and pretty soon the whole class is "swimming" right along with him, including Mr Mugwort, the principal..... No one captures the essence of a busy little pre-schooler, with places to go, people to see and things to do, like Jonathan London. His funny, joyful text, full of energy, motion and silly sound effects is wonderfully depicted in Frank Remkiewicz's bright, bold, expressive artwork. Together, they show a successful first day of school, not perfect, but realistic and reassuring to youngsters getting ready for the big step. This story is just one in a delightful series of firsts and your kids will love each and every one of them. Froggy Goes To School is a winner and a good way to help prepare your children for all the fun that's ahead when school begins.

The Kids really enjoy it
I and my children found this book helpful when discussing fears and swimming lessons. Not only is the book fun to read (neat sounds, etc.), it has the added bonus of providing two useful teaching tools for beginning swimmers. I have to say that the part where Froggy loses his bathing suit is over done, and really is not necessary to the storey. It conveys embarrasment about nudity when it really isn't necessary. A little skillful editing while reading can minimize this. The bottom line is that I and my son found the book helpful, it is well written, and has enjoyable illustrations.

A must have for Froggy fans!
What can I say......the Froggy book series are fantastic! Jonathon London writes so well that children can help but enjoy the book. And Frank Remkiewicz is a wonderful illustrator - he makes the books come alive with his drawings of Froggy and the rest of the gang!

I started my daughter on these books when she was about 4 or 5 and she is almost 10 and she still enjoys breaking out her old Froggy books and reading them!

This is the type of book you want you children to read again and again! If you start them on the Froggy series books early they will learn to enjoy the books and other books. The books are tons of fun!

Froggy & skills mastery
I agree with the other reviews that this book is especially splendid in it's illustrations, text and message. Like many young children, Froggy is fearful of the water (and, presumably, other new experiences). However, by taking it at his own pace, and with the encouragement of his mother, he soon masters his skills at swimming (anyone who has or works with young children will empathize with a tired mom & dad frog who are still waiting patiently on into the night as Froggy practices his new learning). While very cute, age appropriate and fun, I have only one criticism: at one point, no doubt for humorous effect, Froggy looses his bathing suit and "turns more red than green." Demanding his parents NOT to look, he skedaddles into the bushes and re-suits. Perhaps I'm reading into this too much, but I would hope that children don't come to devolop negative body issues re: being nude, especially around their own parents (no one else is at the beach with Froggy, Mom & Dad). My only concern is that this might reinforce the unnecessary shameful aspect of nudity that people in this country embrace and that, IMHO, is often one of the issues that lead to negative body image in children in America (why do you think we have so many anorexic/bulimic children here??)

A Horrible Love
This book was decent and also funny. When Song Lee brings in her frog to school and feeds it liver, Harry falls in love. They pass love notes in class. the give each other gifts. Harry's best friend Doug wants him to stop all the love stuff. Will Harry listen to his best friend? Well to find out read Horrible Harry's Secret.

Guess the Secret...
I thought it was an awesome book. All those 6 characters put in one book makes it absolutely hysterical. I liked when Harry sends the letters to Song Lee--you can find the letter on page 9. My favorite character is Song Lee because she is different from Mary, and she likes Harry. You'll have to find out the rest....

A Great Book
When Song Lee brings a water frog to school, and Harry sees that Song Lee feeds it liver, Harry falls in love with Song Lee! Harry gives her a letter that says: Dear Song Lee Do you like me? a. a little b. some c. a lot d. None of the above I like you. Harry. Then, Song Lee writes a letter back. Harry looked sick. Song Lee had marked d- none of the above. Then, Sidney makes Harry mad, and Harry is going to punch Sidney in the schnozzlola. Song Lee's letter also said: Dear Harry, I will like you if you don't fight with Sidney. It is bad to fight. I know because my Grandfather Bong die in Korean war. Song Lee. Then, it starts to snow one morning and on the way to school, Harry and Doug throw snowballs and have a deadly snowdown. Then, as they race across the playground, a red foil present falls out of Harry's pocket. Then, the class is drawing a mural of the joy of the Christmas and Chanukah season. When Sidney and Harry team up and draw a graveyard. Then, Song Lee writes a new letter that said: Dear Harry Remember your a, b, c, d letter? My answer is c. Song Lee. Then, Harry gives Song Lee the gift and inside is a necklace of gold ribbon with five burnt- out Christmas tree lights. Then, everyone draws a picture of a friend with the things they like for a border. Doug and Ida are a team, and Song Lee, Harry, and Sidney are a team. Song Lee drew Sidney with sticking up hair and put a border of canary stickers and Tinkertoys. Sidney drew Harry with a moustache and a beard and horns. Harry drew Song Lee with a border of frogs, liver, and toothpicks around it. Then, Harry hasn't flashed his pearly whites. Then, Song Lee draws Bong and gives it to Harry but it doesn't make him happy. Then, Doug sees Harry drop out 2 dollars. Is Harry a thief? Sidney, Doug, and Song Lee have tried everything but nothing will work. Then, Harry tells them he ran into a wall and his 2 front teeth fell out and the 2 dollars was the money that the Tooth Fairy gave him. Then, Sidney, Doug, Song Lee, and Harry go to the donut place and buy donuts with Harry's money.

Awkward rhymes but still fun
A young rabbit and his mother go to the store to pick-up a few things: carrots, peanuts and worms (!). As the mother rabbit picks up different quantities, the young rabbit whines and complains (in a cute way) about the amounts. The mother rabbit compares the amounts to other shoppers in the store using the terms more, fewer and same. Graphics summarize the terms for each item.

The rhymes strike me as clumsy, but the book is fun to read with various voices for the mother and young rabbit. The young rabbit's facial expressions and gestures lend nicely to telling the story.

One part that might be of special interest is the young rabbits enthusiasm for carrots. He *likes* to eat them and begs his mother to buy more. For children who don't like carrots, this might just encourage them to "munch, munch and crunch" along with their rabbit friend.

Both my boys enjoy the book, but my 18 month old seems particularly enamored with it. It's a bit too basic for my three year old, but he still has fun with it.

Math=Fun
A wonderful way to introduce the math concepts of comparing amounts.

Great!
My 26 month old daughter loves this book. We only bought it a few days ago and have already read it at least a dozen times. I like the rhyming too. There are some books that I don't enjoy reading over and over again, but this one is fun to read. It flows nicely and the illustrations are adorable. I especially get a kick out of the little rabbit's eyes as he pleads with his mom to buy fewer peanuts :-) We're looking into getting more of the Mathstart books because we like this one so much.

4 1/2* Good for Toddlers AND the Young Reader!
Froggy wakes up full of enthusiasm for a day's bike ride and picnic with his dad, but his disorganization keeps them at home until the end of the day. In between, Froggy looks around for assorted biking/picnic items (e.g., a ball, a helmet), slamming and bonking around, and finding them in the most unusual places (what ARE those peaches doing in his bed?!). Each time the two are ready to leave another forgotten item must be found:

"Frrrooggyy!" called his father. "I'm re-e-a-d-y!" yelled Froggy... "But Froggy...you need your bicycle helmet!" "I don't know where it is!..." "It's wherever you left it!" "I forget!" "You have to LOOK for it!" This little routine will sound familiar both to children and those who raise them! There's a happy denouement as both Froggy and his dad finally set out (after deciding they're both so hungry they'd better eat the picnic first-at home!).

Bright, uncluttered pictures, 27 pages, lots of word repetition and cool sound effects make this a treat to listen to and read. A toddler who loved the listening to this book will enjoy returning to it as an older reader (perhaps around grade 2-3).

What a fun book
My children love this book, the sound effects part of the book keep them laughing from beginning to end. A great introduction to the Froggy series. I would recommend this book for children aged about 4-7.

A wonderful book for any young child!
This book has become my 2 and 4 year olds favorite story. They love to see froggy looking for his misplaced items and it has taught them to look for their own items when they are lost.

This book is a great book!!!
I really liked this book. It was a great book to read. Harry had a lot og imanginatioin and that is what I think made it a great book!

Horrible Harry and the Purple People
Harry always had a creative and vivid imagination, but now he is seeing purple people in the classroom! But the bad part is that he can only see these purple people. And so no one belives harry- not even Doug his best friend. But all of a sudden strange and unexplainable things are starting to happen in Harrys classroom 2B!Is Harry playing a trick, or are the purple people real.well you will half to find out. So read the book because it is a great mystersy book and wonderful book too. BY SAMMY

Horrible Harry and the Purple People
I enjoyed Horrible Harry and the Purple People by Suzy Kline. It was a great book because Harry is cool. I laughed at all the different things that happened to Harry and his friends at school. It was neat how Harry used the purple ruler and the teacher from the bee. The thing that happened was when Harry showed the purple br pouring grape juice over his friend's head. I'm sure glad it wasn't me!

Drop of Doom?
A charming story of some very believable second graders and a trip to a theme park with a scary ride. When harry is afraid to ride it, Song Lee and Doug, the narrator, help to give their friend some courage. Meanwhile, another boy is making fun of him and a little girl wants nothing to do with him. The story shows how we all have fears that the support of our friends can help us to overcome. The characters do not have much time to develop, but are very real. Song Lee and her mother are Korean. Their dialogue is written with their accent to show diversity. This is a good book for middle second-graders and above to get used to the style of chapter books. Chapters are less than ten pages, with large type and always an illustration.

Why 4 stars?:
The bully character can get a little out of hand. I would have expected someone to step in and not let him torment Harry as much. Still, this is a good book that will serve as a good introduction to chapter books. The nice part about this series is a reader can start anywhere without missing too much.

This book is not "Horrible" at all!
Horrible Harry and the Drop of Doom by Suzy Kline is a good book. The main characters are Harry and Song Lee. It starts out when Sidney dares Harry to try the Drop of Doom, an amusement park ride. Harry realizes that it's an elevator ride and Harry hates elevators! Next the children go to Song Lee's house for a party. They go to an amusement park for fun. First they went to the haunted house. The ride stopped and a ghost popped out in their face. Then it blacked out, the ride turned on and they got out safely. The next ride was the Drop of Doom! Finally, Harry gets on with Song Lee. It starts going up and up. The elevator door opened up to show the whole amusement park. Then the door closed! Song Lee squeezed Harry's hand, and then AHHHH the Drop of Doom dropped fast down. Harry made it. I highly recommend Horrible Harry and the Drop of Doom by Suzy Kline. By reading this book Harry will teach you two valuable lessons. First, always face your fears no matter how scary they are. Second, never forget that your friends are there to help you.

Harry is scared on the Drop of Doom!
Horrible Harry and the Drop of Doom

A Book Report By ...

I am writing a review of the book Horrible Harry and the Drop of Doom. This book is one in a series of 'horrible Harry' books. This one happens to be an adventure of sorts. It is also filled with action and funny at times too.

Horrible Harry and the Drop of Doom is a book that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, but it is written to be read by kids from ages seven to eleven. People who like action and adventure are sure the like this book. I will tell you a little about this book.

Harry, the main character, and his friends finish their second grade year by going to an amusement Park. Harry is dared by his enemy, Sidney, to ride a new ride called 'The Drop of Doom'. This story tells about Harry' s struggle to overcome his fears. It talks about the importance of friendship and the power of peer pressure. It certainly discusses many issues kids this age face now.

I give this book a high recommendation. It is sure to hold your attention until the very end. I give Horrible Harry and the Drop of Doom 'two thumbs up'

Just OK
This book was kind of good. The reason I gave it four stars is because I think each chapter should follow each other instead of being different each time.

Horrible Harry and the Green Slime
This book has four chapters. In the first chapter the class picked secret pals. In the second chapter the principal found a cigarette under a cafeteria table. After that the class drew posters about the bad effects of smoking. In the third chapter they read Charlotte's Web. They put cobwebs all over the school. In the last chapter Harry taught the class how to spike their hair. My favorite chapter is The Demonstration. Why? Because I would like to give a demonstration to my class. I think other kids my age will like this book because it has many funny parts.

Horrible Harry

Have you ever been very horrible? Well, if you
have you should read this book. Horrible Harry and
the Green Slime by Suzy Kline will give you very
horrible ideas. Harry is putting slime into the
principles hair. I recommend this book to a reader
that can understand friendship and horrible things.

Incredible Ned
This is a great book that my 5 year-old thoroughly enjoys. I recently read this book to his Kindergarten class, and the kids loved it. They loved the way the book's prose rhyme, and the excitement of the fact that the school children in the book really could "see" what Ned said! After reading the book, the class discussed what they would do if they had Ned's ability. It was a great learning experience as well as enjoyable for the children.

Incredible Ned
I like this book because I like art, and I like the idea of the story. My favorite part is when the art teacher comes and figures out why Ned's words appear over his head.

A Reading Field Trip
This is a very funny book The author has a very unique style of writing. It is about a boy named Harry, who behaves poorly it is funny. Harry has to be good for one school day or get one ant sticker the stickers late you go on trips on not or he does not get to go on the field trip to the swamp. The characters are Song Lee, Harry, and Sidney. Harry gets in lots of trouble because he pretends to smokes and fuels around . But Harry has friends so if he gets in trouble, he has them to back him up. I would recommend this book to kids between the ages of 8-10 years old. It is a very funny book.

Very funny!
I really enjoyed this book about the cery interesting character, Song Lee. This comedic book will put a smile on any child's face! It will add nicely to any Suzy Kline book collection!
