This book takes you on a journey filled with the miracles of faith and power of prayer. You can feel each trial and tribulation in your heart. I have visited this church after reading this book and the warmth and love is all over the church. This pastor has endured much, in order to dedicate his life to his calling. I was inspired to reach out and believe me it was a rock for me as a child of Christ and I was able to dedicate myself to the cause of Christ. It is a must read for all, young and old. My children, and my childrens children will read this.

This book chronicles a Brooklyn church and its community amid the crime, drugs and despair of the black community. However , faith and learning to believe in the Lord and his ultimate plan for an individual and his community makes this church an oasis amid the storms. It is a story of a pastor, with his own demons, trying to be resopnsible for the souls of his congregation and the thin ice on which he must tread. This book will make you look at the inner city and its churches in a different light.

This book was well written and well resourced and led me on a pilgrimage to this black Mecca.

If you love the works of Mark Twain this is a splendid way to get them. I happen to own the original set of which these are a reprint. All the writing that Twain published in his own lifetime is here, including short stories, essays and topical pieces. Twain is ideal for browsing, and when you have the entire set you can browse to your heart's content.

I am interested in the 25 vol. set, but want to know the title and vol. number of each. Also the type of binding and how many publications this is for it,as well as the publisher, and address of publisher.

In fairly good condition, except for normal wear and tear, reader's use, travel, etc. They have a lithographed "signature page," which states "This is the authorized uniform edition of all my works" The copyright dates run from 1896 to 1907... anyone have an idea what they're worth?

As a psychotherapist, I don't often turn to business authors or management consultants. This book is an exception.
It is great for the one-page reader who wants help quickly. Deep and Sussman take some of the best psychological reasearch and bring the core down to a pithy statement, easily entertained, and place 7-10 or so of these on each page. The reader takes a topic of interest and finds just one page of pearls of wisdom. Topics range from the individual: "Insomnia" or Avoid Negative Self Talk" or "Forgive Your Mistakes" to business areas like "Accept Criticism" "Make Good Use of Time", to relationships and communicating effectively, then to prospering at work and at home: "Survive a Job Loss" "Raise Positive, Successful Children." One then reads the 7 to 10 Yes-you-can suggestions (many from bona fide research) written in simple sentences.
Amazing. I show and suggest this book in my stress reduction and relaxation training group and many buy it.

I love this neat little book. It distills some of the most effective advice on work, health, family, and service into easily understandable and applicable blurbs. I love the inspiring quotations and the positive tone with which Deep and Sussman address the topics discussed in the book. Some of the information is just plain common sense, but there seems to be a shortage of that these days, making this book all the more necessary. This is an amazingly realistic tale of former and modern Mexico and the US. I recommend it as a personal read or even as a text book on Mexican/American Studies. Great book, covering economics and politics in Mexico during the period of 1988-1994 (president Carlos Salinas de Gortari). Without fear, it reveals many important facts previously unknown to the public. It as well deals with Mexican way of life and shows the causes of present situation in Mexico and possible solutions. This commentary is one of my favorites. The scholarship is excellent, treatment is even-handed, and the writing style is fluid and easy to digest. I suppose the account of Israel's first kings makes for a particularly interesting study to begin with, but Bergen leads the reader through the text well. I highly recommend this book.

This is an excellent commentary by the author of 'Biblical Hebrew and Discourse Linguistics.' This commentary demonstrates how the application of the discipline of linguistics can contribute to an understanding of the Old Testamtent. The commentary also excels in placing the contents of these Old Testament books within a Biblical Theology; it is sensitive to placing their contents within the context of an unfolding revelation. This commentary also proves that a scholarly commentary does not have to be difficult to read. While some commentaries are boring and dry as dust, this one is fun and exciting.

Ms. Sasanov's voice is strong and beautiful. The poems are at once real and tied to the earth as they are soaring to the heaven. This book deserves to be widely studied and discussed. It deserves to be taught and pondered. It deserves to be read.

I found this book much more useful than the previous guide I read on the subject, "The Art of Non-Sexual Lovemaking: A Guide to Platonic Relationships," by Ima Prude, which wasn't nearly as effective for me and my partner in helping us work through our sexual issues.

A fascinating eye-opener and a book which has transformed the way I view lovemaking. Quite frankly something needed to be done to resurrect the physical side of my marriage which has been blighted in the main by my PE, and Caprio's guide seemed the perfect start. As the author makes clear, lovemaking is an art - an art whose media are the body AND the mind, with the lover as artist. I have every confidence that reading this guide will lead to a happier love life for my wife me, and will help me move on from my frustratingly Pollockesque form of abstract expressionism.

As I started High School many SAT help books were thrown my way from my always helpfull parents and relatives. But this book passed the true test of time. By the end of my Junior year this Red book was the only one left on my desk, with the flash cards scattered throughout my room. It helped me get the scores I wanted...I hope the same is true for you.

I bought Barron's SAT I prep book and studied it for about a month before my test. It helps you learn your vocabulary and hone in on the math skills that you need work on. The best thing to prepare for the SAT, though, is to TAKE the SAT, and Barron's has plenty of practice tests that are as close to the real thing as you can get. I can sincerely give an unqualified endorsement of this book. My 1600 has Barron's written all over it.
