To Conservatives: Great Ideas Require Great Communicators
The biggest obstacle to spreading the Conservative message of more freedom and less government is the lack of effective communicators. If Conservatives continue to blame media bias, liberal demagoguery, etc., they will only become more frustrated. The key is to become proficient and persuasive in communicating the Conservative message. Dr. Luntz's booklet is a good start for getting Conservatives on that path.

Updated Daddy Book Helpful
Good book for little kids about fathers and their jobs, including their most important job of parenting. Paul Meisel`s pleasant smiling daddies show all kinds of different things fathers might do for work. But the biggest smiles are on the faces of my boys, when Janet Frank writes, "...daddies hurry home-- to us!" I especially like this book, because here in Japan the most prevalent image is that of the salaryman. This shows that there are other options, as well as the fact that women do these jobs, too.

The Egg of the Phoenix: Special Module I12 (Advanced Dungeons & Dragons)
Published in Paperback by TSR Hobbies (1987)
Authors: Frank Mentzer and Paul Jaquays
Amazon base price: $12.00
Average review score:

Great, rare reprint of Frank Mentzer's RPGA modules
By far the rarest module in the I series, this one is also the most coveted by collectors and DMs alike, because it is one of the best adventures ever written for the game. High praise, but I've run this one 6 times throughout the years, and every group hailed it as one of their favorites! The Holy Grail of AD&D, the Egg of the Phoenix is a magical artifact whose true powers have grown wilder over the centuries with every retelling. Now, the heroes (levels 5-9) will have months of adventure as this 100-page epic sweeps them through caravans, thievery, diabolical machinations, and a level 20 cleric/25 arch-mage who happens to have the four Elemental Princes of Evil on his case. Impossible? Only if you don't give your heart and soul, as a team, to survive... a wonderful tale, highest recommendation.

Father Frank

Excellent Debut Novel
I read Father Frank on the advice of a friend earlier this year. We were camping and I needed a new book to read. I was expecting a simple, funny beach read and I got that, but it is also much more than that. Francis Dempsey, a lapsed Irish Catholic, gets into Oxford to study theology and eventually becomes a priest, despite his total lack of belief in a higher power. The book, pleasant and enjoyable to read, manages to tackle subjects like faith, sex and the role of religion in every day life without preaching and author Paul Burke does a surprisingly good job of it. The seemingly silly, unbelievable plotline works brilliantly thanks to Burke's impressive comedic talent. This is a purely fun read, and one that will, amazingly enough, leave you pondering faith. Outraegeously funny, sometimes heartbreaking, 'Father Frank' should be required reading for everyone who ever questioned God, and love.

The Bible of Seafood Cookery!
Written as a textbook of sorts, entirely in narrative script, this book actually teaches you how to cook seafood as opposed to how to follow just one singular recipe. It is chock full of valuable information dealing with culinary procedures, use and application of spices, techniques for preparing everything from boiled blue crabs to beer-battered alligator, and the only complete listing of every single fish that swims the waters of the Northern Gulf of Mexico and how to cook them! But the recipes themselves are special--not only unique to the famed cuisine of the Crescent City but so simple to follow and easy to prepare, both for the novice cook as well as the professional chef. It is truly one of those books a serious cook interested in preparing seafood the proper way needs to have on his or her bookshelves, and it is certainly one of those books you'll feel compelled to read from cover to cover for pure entertainment and enrichment.

A superb "case study" of Wright's vanished masterpiece
Kruty has fashioned a craftsmanlike, wonderfully readable account of Midway Gardens. A fascinating study, for design professional and lay person alike, which illuminates not only a lost masterpiece, but the mind and design process of its creator, Frank Lloyd Wright, against the social backdrop of pre-World War I Chicago.
