Pilkey strikes again
We just had to get the latest Ricky Ricotta book as my 4 1/2 year old son is in love with Ricky Ricotta and Captain Underpants. I find the Ricky Ricotta series a little less humorous and more boiler plate than the Captain Underpants series, however my son loves them both. The Flip-O-Ramas are great as usual and my son now makes up the sound effects. He also really enjoys going through how to draw each character at the end. He hasn't tried to actually draw them yet. All of the books in this series have a villain from another planet who Ricky Ricotta's Giant Robot is able to defeat and put in jail. My son loves seeing the old villains in the jail windows at the end of the story. I sure hope the next book in the series comes out soon because I don't know how long my son can wait. If your kids like Captain Underpants, Ricky Ricotta is likely to be a favorite, although I think some older kids may find it boring in comparison. It is easier to read, however, and would be a good book for a beginning reader to read themselves.

Julius is jazzy
Julius is a very unconventional pig who loves jazz music, dressing up, and eating peanut butter out of the jar. Maya teaches Julius manners, which he reluctantly learns, then later uses because he loves Maya. It's a fun, non-whimsical and non-preachy story of friendship. Kids 'get' the moral (bringing out the best in your friend by loving them and sharing your own interests with them) without being hit over the head with it. The excellent facial expressions (esp on the parents' faces) really tell the story.

The illustrations are very engaging -- brightly patterned bits of cloth, some creative distortion of perspective, etc. The African-American family looks like it was modeled on real, living individuals -- a refreshing change from the generic white-person-colored-black look.

This is a great picture book for those of you who are tired of the pastel world of books for the under-7 set.

We think the author never finished the book very well.
Nothing was very funny or catchy. None of the lines really stated anything profound. The story wasn't very interesting.

My 2 1/2 yr old absolutely loved it!<BR>
Wonderful children's adventure about how a young girl befriends a pig

Ricky Ricotta's Giant Robot Vs. the Voodoo Vultures from Venus

A Great Battle
It was a good book because of the great battle. The voodoo vultures from venus sure did get a a good beating. The pictures are really great. Rickys Ricotta's Robot is really mighty robot. I think Kindergardeners - Second grade would like this book a whole lot.

Not as strong
Ricky Ricotta's Giant Robot Vs. the Voodoo from Venus isn't as strong an outing as the previous two books in this series. But it's still a good read.

Ricky and his robot are in trouble at home and lose their tv privileges. This allows them to avoid being hypnotized by a vulture bad guy on Venus who wants to (you guessed it) take over Earth. As usual, Ricky is resourceful and the Robot is strong and the good guys save the day.

Ricky Ricotta's Giant Robot vs.Voodoo Vultures from Venus
I'm just nuts for this series of Ricky books that my mommy has bought me. I can't wait till number 4 comes out! The Mecha-Monkeys from Mars.I'm sure my mommy's is getting tired of reading the same three books to me night after night.thank you Mr.Pilkey!!

Fun for all ages
My 6 1/2 year old daughter, 4 1/2 year old son, as well as my
wife and I all enjoyed it very much. We have been Pilkey fans for
awhile and have enjoyed all of the Captain Underpants Series and
Ricky Ricotta Series. This is really an extension of Captain
Underpants, but it is all written as if it were a George and Harold
comic book. If you're familiar with Captain Underpants you'll know what
that means. Basically Pilkey created 2 mischevious gradeschoolers
who make up comic books about Captain Underpants and inadvertantly
created a "real" Captain Underpants. When they get into trouble and
have to write an essay, they wind up making up a new character, Super
Diaper Baby, which is the basis of this book/comic book. The humor
appeals to children, but also contain references which will amuse the
parents. Its a little harder for non-readers to follow than Captain
Underpants because its all written as a comic book, but my son was able
to follow and enjoy it quite a bit. The Flip-O-Ramas are fun as usual
although they are less professional (this book is by 9 and 10 year olds,
not an adult). If you're not familiar with Captain Underpants, I'd buy the
4-pack 1st and when you're addicted to the series, then get this book.
But even if its your first Pilkey book, you'll like it.

Max's review of Super Diaper Baby
Super Diaper Baby - it's very fun because the bad
guy is poo and he steps on people. I recommend you
could buy it because it's very funny and the bad guy
turns into poo. There's a bad dog but he turns good.
Buy this book and also buy captain underpants because
Captain Underpants came first. But I recommend that you
read Captain Underpants first even though Super Diaper
Baby is funnier.

One of my favorite books!!
Super Mega Diaper Baby is one of the best books I have read the author did really, really good! All of his other books of his I have read are also good, some of his books are The Advetures of Catain Underpants(and Captain Underpants 2,3,4,and 5).And Cat Kong and Dogzilla.Anyway get this book!!
