This is a great book for someone who is hoping to steal financial engineering practices from one industry to apply them in another. I loved this book- we've already ordered two more copies for people in my work group. Experienced or neophyte, if you're into risk management and/or developing new financial instruments get this one

This anthology of Delta Green short stories presents a good introduction to the conspiracy/horror concepts of the DG world. Some stories are better than others, and each tale has it's own merits, but the story by Arinn Dembo stands head and shoulders above the rest. The story, a DG-flavored explanation of the life and times of a rockstar who closely resembles Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain, is truly fantastic in my opinion. I'm probably a bigger fan of the story because of the unsolved mystery of Cobain's death, but it's well-written and sucks you in with a mixture of present-time and flashback sequences. I recommend the book as both an introduction to DG, and as a source of fresh new historical fiction authors.

This book was really cute, it is about the journey of a greyhound and his owner. It gives a picture of the racing industry and how many of the dogs are handled. Not all trainers are bad trainers. It sets the idea that once you have one of these magnificent dogs in your life you and the dog and everything about it are intwined together forever. It is a great read, and very enjoyable.

This is the perfect book for you if you know nothing about business and you want to learn the basics. I had to read it four times from cover to cover for a test, but I kept on finding new information each time I read it. Unfortunately, this edition has some outdated information about computers and credit card processing, but the rest of the book is pretty accurate. If you want to learn more about consumers, the government's role in the economy, and financial institutions, I would suggest using this as your basic reference book. It doesn't use complex language or strange jargon to explain things - it's perfect for the school or the office. There's lots of colorful graphs and pictures that really helped me understand the concepts presented.

This book was a very interesting true story of several British naval officers and their guides who travelled from Hudson Bay into the interior of Canada and up the Coppermine River to the northern coast of the North America. This expedition took several years. As their journey progressed so did the sufferings they endured. Several members of the group died of starvation and other causes. One was murdered and his killer was shot. It was incredible that anyone survived.

Anyone interested in the Arctic exploration and early Native Americans will enjoy this book. The author, Sir John Franklin, was a fearless explorer who died on a subsequent Arctic mission. He descibes his meetings with the traders and local inhabitants in great detail. He relied in large part on local Native Americans as guides and hunters. It was his intention to meet with the Eskimo people, who avoided all contact with his group. The Native Americans refused to accompany the group all the way north due to their fear of the Eskimos. I highly recommend this book.

As a history professor, I expected this book to be little more than another cops 'n robbers story. Instead, it gives a fascinating insight to a little known Civil War campaign, followed by a sweeping review of Texas/American/Mexican politics in the post-War era. It manages to give enormous detail without ever becoming boring.

McNelly himself could have been created as hero of a fictional novel; he was a really incredible man, who excelled at everything he did.

I started to read the book reluctantly; once I got started, I couldn't put it down. This is an excellent, well written book! I recommend it to anyone interested in the Civil War, the Texas Rangers, state and national politics and human relations!

This is his fourth book and he documents many of the battles that took place on the Nebraska and Wyoming plains. Scott writes well and documents his work from original sources. This book report is about the book"In the footsteps of Scott" written by Roger Mear. He was born in 1950 and gained a fine art's degree at Norwich. This Antarctic Expedetion was suggested by Robert Swan while he was still at University. He then met Roger Mear, an was soon joined by Gareth Wood. They set out to walk to the South Pole, manhauling their sledges, with the intent of tracing Captain Scott's route. The most impressive part of the story to me was when they heard that their ship, The Southern Quest, was crushed and sunk in pack-ice off Cape Evans, cutting off all their radio-links. Their hopes of getting back alive were tremendously threatening. Throughout this electrifying journey, they faced strange, interesting, and even humorous events. They dined away the well-dresed Emperor Penguins at Cape Cozier. These strange and majestic birds were in groups huddling against the ice-cliff. From this book I learnt how people survive in harsh conditions, in a cold isolated place. I would highly recommend this book to all my friends, because it's interesting and adventurous, and one learns much about this expedetion to one of the most dangerous and unspoilt landscapes in the world.
