IT REALLY WORKS!
ENOUGH MONEY really works! Mr. Vodra has developed a sensible and practical approach to managing one's personal financial life. His "Seven Rules of Prosperous Living" are easy to understand and follow. After reading his book and completing a "Lifetime Balance Sheet", I have managed to begin a savings plan and almost eliminate my credit card debt in a few short months. I highly recommend Mr. Vodra's approach to gaining financial freedom.

Common sense, simple rules, down-to-earth language.
Before I can do my job as a financial planner, I often have to cajole my client into getting their stuff together in order to give me some idea what I have to work with. Now I can just refer them to Dick's wonderful book. Taking the "Seven Rules of Prosperous Living" and applying them to the "Lifetime Balance Sheet" can help even the most disorganized, disfunctional procrastinator develop an easy formula for a stress-free financial future.

The Incredible Secret Money Machine II

It's how to make money!
When I first started my life as an entrepreneur my brother gave me a copy of the Incredible Secret Money Machine. I read it many times and whenever I followed it's advice, I prospered, and whenever I tried to "make it" doing the conventional things it advised against, I failed.

This book is for the average person who want's to have a little independence and security making money with their own technical or craft talents. It's a must-read!

A must read for techies/crafters who want to go it alone
I was turned onto this book by my friend Charlie in the 80's, who had successfully and happily run his own technical and craft money machines for many years. Since the book was out of print at the time, I had to search very hard to find a copy.

Don, through this book, has helped me to understand that I didn't need to be an employee, nor employ others in order to do my own technical venture and make a comfortable living. The advice is timeless (i.e. avoid taking on "granfaloons" (the government or large corporations), spend less than what you make, get by on less, invest in yourself, etc.) and continues to translate well into the internet economy.

I have taken to re-reading the book every year or so, to help adjust what I'm doing to increase my happiness and control over the direction of my career/life.

I have found it helpful to interact with others who are into this same "money-machine" lifestyle, and continue to enjoy many of the philisophical and other bits of advice provided.

The book is easy to read, humorous, and captivating. I had previously read Don's TTL and CMOS books, and also found those to be invaluable. This book is so genuine and unique, that nothing that I've found (and I've looked) has inspired me so much in my quest to do my own thing and run a small business.

Thanks Don!

Standard Catalog of United States Paper Money

An excellent basic currency reference.
This work, along with Friedberg's book and Hessler's work, make up the three primary basic reference works on United States Currency. The Catalog contains an excellent reference section on National Bank Notes, receiving much more press than in Friedberg's work. The pricing, while out of date, is actually fairly realistic in today's market, unlike the Black Book or even Friedberg's book. A great plus is that this work is cross referenced by Friedberg Numbers, which are the standard cataloging numbers used by all dealers and collectors in the hobby. Well worth the investment!

Prepare Yourself for the Real World of Invention
"Will It Sell?" is deap reading for the "idea person" who thought that there was a pot of gold waiting at the end of the "good idea rainbow." James E. White, author, tells you like it is--he doesn't mince words. He digs out every fact and every reason why your inventive idea can "fail," but he hopes that you will be the one-in-one-hundred-inventors whose invention won't fail.. He will be your mentor. When Jim explains a fact and each step to follow, you get the feeling that he is looking over your shoulder, correcting and helping you in your every move. "This is the book." If you think reading it is tough, then don't become an inventor. He'll tell you "how to get there," with every reference on each of the 300 pages. And he shows, like no other author, that if you fail on any one stage, don't even think about averaging-out the stages of invention to Pass. He tells the truth-- "No one said it would be easy." -- Who am I to tell you about "Will It Sell?" -- only the President of the Inventors Association of St. Louis, a large inventors' helping organization founded in 1984, that augmented in 1990 the United Inventors Association of the USA - which has over 3000 members. That's who! BUY THE BOOK - "WILL IT SELL"

For anyone considering bringing their invention to market
Will It Sell? was specifically written for anyone considering bringing their invention to market. A key consideration in marketing a new idea or product is to determine its profitability, especially before investing capital on a patent. James White's practical, "reader friendly" informational manual will provide the non-specialist general reader with inexpensive techniques and practical steps to take in assessing whether or not their invention will be commercially viable. Fundamental issues are clearly addressed such as what a patentable invention is, the step for "idea development" and "product development"; advertising claims, getting professional help, even doing your own patent search. Dozens of Internet resources are provided with instructions for how best to utilize them. If you have an idea or an invention that you want to make money with, begin by a carefully reading of James White's Will It Sell?.

Brett'$ Money Primer

Excellent starting point for a young adult's money planning.
I purchased Brett's Money Primer for a teenage relative who has a desire to start planning his financial future but who seems to be more "money challenged" than most of his peers. I read portions of the book before wrapping it up and thought that the author did a good job of presenting financial basics for young people. The book's style reminds me of a Wealthy Barber for the younger crowd. The single thing that made the most impact for me was how much difference it makes when you start your financial plan early in life! I have since heard from my nephew who says that he found the book an easy read (with great cartoons) and he is already implementing his own plan. This book would make a great gift for any teen or young adult.

Concepts that work
In BudgetYes! you will find solutions to your problems of wandering funds, missing money and unorganized finances. A well explained, detailed and illustrated book that lays it on the table and will help you to get organized with your money and account for every dime. Inside you will not only find well orchestrated instructions, but examples of all of the different layouts you will need to begin to get a grip on your finances. The concepts used here are very similar to the principals of accounting, yet they are explained in a way that you don't need to be a C.P.A. to understand them. I highly recommend this book for anything from getting a grip on your money to setting up a complete household budget. Well done!

A very interesting and informative book
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. My review may be found in "Art History" vol. 21, no. 3 (September 1998), 445-48. In the reiew I mention: "It offers the first extensive twentieth century analysis of Reni's personality and environment. Spear's relatively non-reductive research methodology is an interesting shift of study 'from the "outside" to the "inside"' of the subject (Spear p. 9). This method is used in addition to the standard revisionist focus on the artist from his/her own time, rather than from our time. 'The "Divine" Guido' is a welcome addition to the new historicist studies from publishers such as Yale University, Cambridge University, Prentice Hall and Thames & Hudson."

The financial education few of us ever received
This is a textbook for one of those "boring" junior college courses on planning your life and marriage. Funny thing is, it's also a fantastic wealth of advice and homey insights most of us desperately need. Centers on finances in marriage, always a problem area, but plenty of other good stuff. I think with the right literary agent and a lean rewrite, this would be a bestseller. Most Americans should take Prof. Poduska's course.
