Find what you need in one minute or less !
I purchased this book quite a few years ago and I am still using it today. In fact, my daughter is getting married and I am getting her this book so she will be as organized as her mother! It was so easy to organize everything and I can find what I am looking for in an instant. This book tells you what catagory to file your document, when to save in archives and when something can be tossed away. I wish that I could give this book ****** !

Thanks for getting me organized.
The system you wrote is fantastic. I have been rifeing through drawers, boxes, and paper for years. I really didn't think there was a way. But there is. Thank you very much, Mary Martin. I really didn't think it was possible.

It's a terrific help to get me organized.
I wish I had gotten this book sooner. I have always been a slave to the paper tiger. The thing I like about this method is that it not only showed me what is important to hold on to and where to speciffically file things....but it also shows what NOT to keep and WHEN to throw it away. It sounds simple and IT IS! Thank you to the Martins for a great system.

Fires are being set off in the library
Mary Anne volunteers to work at the Readathon (a contest for the little kids to read books for prizes and to get new books for the library) and then fires start being set off! Mary Anne and the rest of the members of the Baby-sitters Club decide to catch the person setting them off! Not only the BSC but Nicky Pike, BSC member Mallory Pike's brother, is helping too because some matches were found in his jacket pocket and he didn't put them there. So who would set fire to some books and why? Is it the protestors who want to ban some of the books? Is it one of the kids that doesn't want to be in the Readathon? Is it actually Nicky? You have to read the book to find out! I rated it 5 stars because it was well written and pretty fun to read. You probably won't guess who's setting off fires...but you will like the ending!

Bravo, Mary Anne!
I just love Mary Anne & her endearing sensitivity & her incredible courage! She's such a lovely person with a strong character! It was a cute, funny opening scene where Mary Anne is feeling depressed & to lift her blues, watches a sad movie & cries & cries. Trouble is, she doesn't feel much better & goes to the BSC meeting with red, swollen eyes. Then when the readathon is announced, I liked how Mary Anne got involved & THAT lifted her sadness. I liked how, even though she was missing Dawn & Logan, she didn't sit around feeling sorry for herself. Wow, those parts where the fires were happening were scary for her. Poor Mary Anne has terrible nightmares! The nightmares get worse, considering that Mary Anne is anxious & nightmare-prone. Boy, were Mary Anne & Kristy heroes when they finally caught the firebug! The ending was cute & touching when the librarians are giving awards to the kids, Nicky whistles when Mary Anne is recognized & Mary Anne blushes a bright red! & to top it all off, she ends up blubbering in front of everyone! It's endearing how she cries so easily. I love how the girls in the BSC solve their own mysteries & problems unlike many of the girls from the former Fabulous Five series who wait around for their boyfriends to be the heroes. There needs to be more books about girls as heroes.

This Book Rocks!
Mary Anne and the Library Mystery is very good book. Because I love books so much, it's nice to read about books from a good book! I love this! I haven't even readed it yet, and I still can say it's good. I'm excited to know who is the firebug. Because, here's what has happened. Mary Anne is having a terrible blues, because her best friend Dawn has left Stoneybrook and is now in California. Her boyfriend belongs to the volleyball team and now it's in somewhere - I don't know, but not in Stoneybrook. And one of Mary Anne's friends is having mono. But when Mary Anne gets job from Stoneybrook Library, her blues is away. But things aren't alright. Somebody is setting fires all over the library! Who would want to burn down all the book? And the library is fulled of children! Mary Anne and her friends understand that this is serious thing and they have to solve this mystery, before it's too late!

Secret Life of Mary Anne Spier (Baby-Sitters Club, 114)

Excellent!
In the secret life of Mary Anne Spier sh spends so much on her father's credit card. Mr.Spier told Mary Anne that she would even have to pay interest just like he does.Mary Anne takes a job at the mall and meets this girl Angela and their family helped Angela by inviting them to stay for Christmas.

Cute holidays tale of GIVING
I liked it! Mary Anne's kind, tender heart gets her into trouble, but I admire how she takes responsibility for her mistake and willingly takes the elf job to pay for it! Also touching is how Mary Anne feels so sorry for Angela, the homeless girl, that she cries quietly under her elf head. Her tender heart is endearing; and her strong sense of responsibility is to be commended. It's hilarious how she goes to extremes to hide her secret job from her friends and boyfriend because she's so easily embarrassed!

The spirit of giving can be a really bad thing
Mary Anne gets to use her father's credit card to do her Christmas shopping! But she goes overboard buying her family and friends. And when her father tells her she has to pay interest to the credit card bill she gets a little worried so she adds the prices of the gift and it turns out she spent 3 TIMES the money she saves. So she has to earn a ton of money in only 2 WEEKS. She baby-sits and then she does something a tiny bit extreme.

I loved Mallory and the Mystery Diary!
Mallory and the Mystery Diary is about Mallory and Stacy thinking there is a ghost in Stacy's new house. They find old portriats and a big old-fanshioned trunck. They find out a rich family lived here in the 1800's. Mallory gets to keep the truck. Her brothers finally open it (she has brothers that are triplets!), and finds fine, old clothing and a diary with a stack of papers. She reads the diary and finds a mystery that needs to be cleared. Finally she reads the stacks of paper and it was admitted. This is the best book! I loved the book!

I loved Kristy and the secret of Susan.
Please put this book on video so I can buy it. The only thing is that you didn't say if she changed or not at the end. Please try to get Ann M. Martin's signiture and give it to me!

A mother's prayer...........
I hope to heaven that there was a great deal of poetic license taken in telling this story. It would be too painful to read if all was true. In fact, I have been afraid to finish it. I am happy to say, that she is healthy and happy now regardless of any perceived past. Also, she is in process of writing a sequel about Molly's recovery. I look forward to its completion.

All Too Real
This book is disgustingly realistic in it's portrayal of the drunken Punk Rock underworld, Ms. Martin's life, and and what is surely the L.A. band Popdefect. The scary part is that most or all of it probably really happened. Yikes!!

Great Book for Scorsese Fans & Students
Examines Director Martin Scorsese's career from the beginning to Cape Fear (although it seems that the book had to go to press before Cape Fear was actually released, as there's a discernable lack of substance in that chapter).

To gather wonderful tales of how Scorsese works, Kelly interviews the director's friends, family members, casts, and crews. Oh, and the Secretary to the President of Cyprus!! (See details about The Last Temptation of Christ). Quoted stories, observations, and comments all contribute to a fine portrait of one of our greatest active cinema artists. (And, to the delight of film buffs everywhere, text shows that Scorsese is first and foremost an unabashed movie fan)! Kelly's system provides the reader to form own opinions about Scorsese, rather than making a lot of critical conclusions.

In pursuit of my undergrad degree, I used this book quite a bit for research toward essays I wrote about Scorsese's films. Not at all a chore to read, it was a very enjoyable book, great for the fan as well as the film scholar.

Good index, good filmography. Brief forewards by Michael Powell and Steven Spielberg hint at more than a bit of pure jealousy!

fantastic bio!
this is one of the best, in-depth bio's that I have read. And what a subject! Martin Scorsese is a god-like director that has made such films as Good Fellas Casino and Taxi Driver. The book is filled with interveiws from fellow directors and drew/cast etc. Great format! It's like reading a behind the scene's documentry.

BUy it!

Princess Victoria is coming in!
When some British diplomats (a little odd for a story, I must say) come to live in Stoneybrook, Mary Anne is hired as a companion. This is far-fetched but highly entertaining. Look for Princes Victoria in more books, like the European Super Special, when the BSC goes to London and visit her. Victoria is one of the most interesting child characters yet in the BSC books.

Great Thanksgiving story!
Timid, sensitive Mary Anne is baby-sitting an actual PRINCESS-a little girl who is used to being waited on hand and foot, complains endlessly about her "frightfully old" nanny, and is to put it mildly, blunt. Mary Anne does an admirable job with her and cracks her "royal" shell. I admired how patient Mary Anne was with her. While the other kids were quick to dismiss Victoria as a spoiled snob, perceptive Mary Anne saw a lonely, insecure girl who needed a lot of love. I also loved how the author interwove a subplot of Mary Anne's growing closeness with her stepmother Sharon, who misses Dawn. What a kind heart Mary Anne has to arrange that Thanksgiving surprise for Sharon. I like how close Sharon and Mary Anne have become. Mary Anne desperately needed a mother and I'm glad she has somebody as wonderful as Sharon. I wish I had a daughter or baby-sitter like Mary Anne!!!!

The best book you can read about the Blessed Virgin Mary
I havn't read every book about Mary, but I know a classic when I read it, and this book falls in that category. The sub-title "The Virgin Mary in History, Art, & Apparition" aptly summarizes the main themes. Mr. Martin traces the historical flowering of Mary's influence in Christendom. This is seen from the very beginning of the church and proves to be a guiding factor in keeping the Church from being ship-wrecked on the rocks of error and enemies. In addition to history and theology, the artistry of Marian paintings, cathedrals (such as Chartres), and music are also appraised and found to be valuble anchors to keep to us grounded in the truth. Finally, the apparitions reinforce the theme that Mary's work did not end when she gave birth to our Lord. She continues to draw people to Christ through miracles and messages which are difficult to ignore. The Remnant newspaper's book reviewer says, "I can think of no better book on the subject written in the last fifteen years." The National Catholic Register calls it "A Marian Tour De Force. . . the book stimulates the mind and enflames the spirit in equal measure." In addition to a beautifully written book, there are some beautiful art reproductions. Order one today and chances are you will order more later for gifts.

A beautiful study of the most important woman in history
Whether you are part of the Judeo/Christian tradition or not, it would be impossible to name a woman who has more influence in the history of the world than the Mary of Nazareth, the mother of Jesus Christ. More paintings, sculptures, music, and architecture has been dedicated to and inspired by this remarkable, singular woman who lived nearly two thousand years ago in Asia Minor. Believers and non-believers alike can learn an immense amount from this truly well written book. I highly recommend it!
