Building Little Italy - a Valuable Story and Reference Tool
In Building Little Italy: Philadelphia's Italians Before Mass Migration, Richard Juliani provides a volume that would be of value to many interested readers. Building Little Italy tells the story of the early Italian immigrant to the City of Brotherly Love, complete with the everyday challenges and hurdles faced by this fledgling group. This book brings to life many new details and is in many ways groundbreaking, as little if any has been published in this area before. Dr. Juliani provides a painstakingly researched tome, with statistical information beautifully complimented by wonderful photos. No rocks are left unturned. For those interested in Italian American or European cultural history, Juliani allows you to step into the shoes of an early Italian immigrant - attempting to adjust to a new nation while trying to maintain ties to his people. Some of the immigrants met with more success than others. Several early Italians in Philadelphia contributed a wealth to this ethnically rich city, and others were on hand to see many historical events. In addition to being a fascinating cultural read, Building Little Italy is an excellent reference tool for those studying this area on a scholarly level. This volume will be a worthwhile addition to the bookshelf of many. It is wholeheartedly recommended to any readers interested in Italian American culture or research.

Streamlined yet Comprehensive
The new edition of Snell's Clinical Anatomy-An Illustrated Review with Questions and Explanations provides the perfect accompaniment for its parent text-Clinical Anatomy for Medical Students. The book is based on the format of the progenitor text but is essentially a condensed version of the latter. As such, it is particularly suitable for those readers (medical, dental, allied health science students) who require an easy-to-use quick reference review of basic clinical anatomy which is ideal for exam preparation purposes, or as a stand alone text for first-time students embarking on a clinical anatomy course. One of the most impressive features of Snell's Illustrated Review is the widespread utilisation of detailed tables and figures which enhance the memorisation of anatomical facts and simplify the learning process. Undoubtedly, many students struggle to assimilate the elaborate and at times seemingly inexhaustive amount of information commonly encountered in anatomy lectures - particularly the complex intricacies of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. However, Snell's text manages to present concise yet thorough descriptions of muscles and their origins, insertions, nerve supplies and actions, as well as nicely summarising cranial nerves and the branches of the various plexi and their distributions in a highly accessible manner. Each chapter concludes with an extensive bank of National Board type questions which come complete with both answers and explanation which facilitate test-taking skills and enhance critical thinking. Current diagnostic imaging techniques (radiographs, CT scans, MRIs and sonograms) are also included to demonstrate anatomy as it is often viewed from a clinical perspective. In summary, Clinical Anatomy - An Illustrated Review with Questions and Explanations is an impressive streamlined yet comprehensive anatomical reference which may be used as a high-yield refresher/revision tool in its own right or as a companion resourse to the highly successful parent book, Clinical Anatomy for Medical Students.

Long Search Finally Ends
I must have read this Little Golden Book book to my daughter over 1000 times. She absolutely loved it as a child. Even though she had memorized the words she insisted on having it read to her every night and she caught me every time I tried to turn two pages at once.
For several years, she had unsuccessfully searched for this book so she could read it to her two sons aged 1 and 3. I was thrilled to see that it was recently re-published and available on Amazon[.com].
The story line involves a baby bear who hides on his father's shoulders when it is time for him to go to bed. The father bear "searches" all over the house for "little bear" who is nowhere to be found. At long last, the father bear looks in a mirror and discovers "little bear" who is perched on his shoulders. A simple story, but one which absolutely fascinated my daughter.

A very important work, very well done.
Meticulous scholarship, but the text remains readable and interesting to the rest of us. Produced by leading experts, skillfully edited by Peter Barnet, the text is as exquisitely done as an ivory carving itself. The book is generously illustrated throughout with many photographs of the ivories. This book belongs in your collection if you admire fine art and craftsmanship from the medeival period.

A marvellous window on the Russian past
This is a very charming book. Not only is there Chekhov's fine story about a lost dog getting involved in a circus act, but the illustrations are wonderful. Surely this is the way 19th Century St. Petersburg looked!
My daughter first found this book in the library when she was six, and it quickly became one of her favorites.

Inciteful & Passionate Recount of a Very Misunderstood Event
Richard "Dutch" Hardorff is one of the most thorough and objective students of General Custer's "last stand". His love of the truth and respect for the Indian tribes and their homeland is inspiring. His writing is captivating and fresh, especially considering the extensive treatment of the subject. Mr. Hardorff provides a lively and thought-provoking perspective that one would never get from the 'history' books. Truly an exceptional book and consistent with his fine other writings.

My daughter's all-time favorite book
This has been my 9-month-old daughter's bed time "must read" book for months now. The story is amusing and offers plenty of opportunities for adult sound effect improvisations. Its sturdy construction has outlasted many of her other books. Highly recommended!

A liitle gem.
Dear Mr. Gellett: I'll never forget, the fun I have with you. My only regret, As I think of you yet, Is you only wrote TWO! The Little Father is one of the cutest books I've ever known. I cherished it as a child, my child couldn't get enough of it, and my first grade kids want to climb all over me, when I read it. One author I wish I could have met!
