The End of the World
Having just ordered this book, I discovered I missed the end of the world! After wading through the maze of information concerning surviving NBC, I am left with an image of hosing my family clean of chemicals while determining how not to recontact the air, consuming canned foods while wearing a gas mask, and hiding the family females from my marauding neighbors. Then I need to have my Bible to read, it's a good thing I happen to be Christian, so that I can contemplate why our God is punishing us!

I hope aliens eat Kris Bhat
I am scared to think of the sheltered world that the author has established for his children. Those poor, poor souls.
What is this [stuff]?
While reading this book, I had to stop many times because my abs were hurting so much from laughing. This book is the biggest piece of worthless literature that I've ever seen. Dr. Bhat believes that he lives in India. Here is a simple passage from the book:
"At this age, if a boy is good, smart, polite and kind, obviously all the girls will be after him. When he goes on a date with a girl, she may appeal to his ego by praising all his good qualities. He decides he likes this girl very much, and thus he gets himself into a "love trap." If a boy is trapped at an early age between 16 and 25, he is [pulled] in for good. He has probably fallen into lust, not love.
Girls often try to trap boys early, in hopes of ensuring their own futures. If a boy gets married this early, his future goals can be affected."

... Nothing in the book in relation to raising my kids makes any sense. This book is for the most closed minded people in India. We aren't in India, we live in America. Customs and traditions are different here. ...
??
I feel that Dr. Bhat's ideology on how an Indo-American family should raise their children is sexist and "behind the times." While his views may be shared with other older Indo-Americans, the new generation has grown up in a country with much more liberation than their parents. It is absurd for him to say that the mother should "always be there when their children arrive home from school." This gives her no freedom of her own. It is also impossible to prevent teenagers from dating nowadays. To condemn it like some sort of evil is extremely opinionated against modern American culture. Personally, I don't believe that the woman should be subservient to the man - all people are created equal.

This book sucks
This is the worst book I have ever read. Its high price is ridiculous.
I can hardly imagine how this kind of trash book can be published.
It is a big humiliation to the reader's intelligence. It is a shame
to our human culture for how many trees and paper are wasted for printing
this useless, awful and sick book.

Stay away from this one!
There are so many ordinary errors, examples of bad reasoning, and sheer leaps of faith in this volume, it astonishes me that Genealogical Publishing Co. reprinted it. The Magna Charta barons all can be picked up from Cockayne and Weis; if you start with Browning, you'll just have to do it over. To be avoided!
